So, what changes are currently being planned for changed to contraband smuggling in 4.87? I've heard a lot of rumors and speculation but I haven't heard anything official.
I have several suggestions for changes, but I will wait to see what the general opinion of the devs (and the larger community) is before posting them all.
The economy lead (Xoria) usually posts a change log regarding major updates in trade routes and other economy-related changes a couple of months before the new version is out, however, it's a tad late for suggestions now and if anything they'd have to wait for 4.88, so posting them wouldn't hurt but don't expect to see them implemented in the next version.
Well can we get Xoria to chime in here? Because I've been hearing a lot of rumors but nothing concrete and I'd like some lead-time to adjust to new changes if they are already set in stone.
Or can you post a link here to the aforementioned thread?
Okay so i read every post, and it looks like the (purchasing) price for smuggling will stay low (in the 500ish range) which doesn't represent the level of actual risk for that sort of high-value/high-risk cargo. As a smuggler myself, I think they should be many times higher than that. Like 4k or more, which also makes cargo piracy viable again against smugglers. I do like that there's going to be a -mild- price buff.
But I guess that's an improvement.. and of course discussion has already concluded on smuggling in the next version. Doesn't seem like that much of a difference from now really.
