Never seen that planet either...
hmm, if i dont mistake, this planet is from vanilla...
Yep, there were no planets added to vanilla systems by discovery.
Some other things that have been mentioned in this thread:
- Trade lane lights. Took me a long time to notice those, but it was still in my vanilla sp days.
- Trade lanes moving in the nav map: Didn't notice until I read this thread.
- Thruster: Didn't know it existed until I had finished the vanilla campaign. I was always QQ'ing at how fast NPCs were....
- Level shown in main view: Didn't notice until I read this thread.
On the menu at your bottom left, when you click the ship icon it shows only the NPCs that you have in scanner range. But did you know that if you click it again it would show only the players and if you click it a 3rd time it'll show both? No more unneeded entries in your scanner when you need to act fast.

I found out, that if you target another ship in space, it name appears, you can see the distance from it to you.
And there is another number, that you can see:
So, obviously this number shows the level of the charakter. Yes, yes, now i know, too.
I played Freelancer from ~2004, and reached Disco ~3,5 years ago. As you can see, i signed on forum 3 years in the past.
I am not a newbie, it seems. But believe me or not: I found that level-thingie out only ~5 month ago.
Ok, i needed 2 weeks, from the start, until i recognized, that i can move a zoomed in system map by click and drag, but this level-thingie is awesome. As i found out the meaning of the number, i thought: 'What a handy tool... since when we have that?'
Around ten seconds later, i thought: 'Crap, i guess it is hardcoded since 2003...'
Blind spot it seems. I felt ashamed more than a bit, being such a blind guy, that i have waited 5 month. But now i will share this nice lil' story about failiure...
Did you experienced a similar blind spot on you own game-eyes? If so, please post.
Others are invited to give a polite comment, thank you.
Same as, played freelancer since game first came out "on and off" with some long breaks in-between. Only about 3 weeks ago did I realize with trade lanes, you fly towards the one showing green light to dock with. Before that I always flew in middle of lanes and let auto pilot pick which ring was being docked with, top or bottom one.

Mine too. Wow, just wow for this diamond you added to this thread!
I bet, that >90% of admins, moderators, members and in general all freelancer players, even veterans don't know about it.
