Tachyon, that is absolutely correct - there is crappier gear out there than the Corsairs, how much is everyones personal opinion- but i seriously dislike the Corsair gear praised into the highest heavens and quasi op-ness by people who don`t even use it on a regular basis, or are only shot at by said gear or whatnot.
And as always, if you have lower-medicore gear and are surrounded by people owning good or excellent gear you mmight get the feel of having the shorter end of the stick a bit more than being surrounded by peeps with equal quality gear.

As i said, you can debate all you want. You got two lvl 9 guns, as anyone else.
Are you willing to drop the Tizonas for another hullbuster?

If so, gather the 'sair bosses, and propose.

Don't expect us to give a third class 9 because of your personal preferences.

To put this first:
I haven't praised it into quasi-OPness.
I also happen to play in two of the three Corsair factions additional to a few indies, using various ships and loadouts, tell me about how much I don't know the stuff.

Your tools can face Insurgents, Odins and Sabres on-par, and also contrary to what seems to be popular belief in here, the Tizzie is more of a buff than you seem to realize.

And yes, it's all just a feeling, not reality. Good point made, Rodnas.

Aside from it that is nice to know that you seem to be on the decision making team of who gets what, you fully know well that i am not voicing my opinion only - the Corsair gun issue is not a new one and many just don't have the nerve to continue forumlancing, resignated and use oorp guns or switched factions or whatever....and as you, being a competent reader surely noticed is that i emphased that there is a portion of happy sairs, too - but you won't hear them commenting on how to change stuff they like.
Options. Everybody likes them and i doubt i have to tellyou that

What concerns me is when people (especially if it is a balance team member) make such invalid comparisons as you could see with the 3 second performance.

The 3 secs performance is more of an invalid comparison than the 16 secs one. Is there any ship in the mod that can be killed by a fighter in 3 seconds? If the answer was yes, then that comparison would've been valid, but since fighter PvP simply comes down to doing the most damage in a long run until the opponent runs out of regens and dies (Instakill factors aside), comparisons for such short time spans simply doesn't make sense. Of course, no one's denying that Inferno is a better burst gun - Which is why it's a torpedo, while del cids are guns - and as you said, each is suitable for a different situation, however, those numbers were added to show that in a long run Tizonas end up doing more shield damage than Infernos, which is the exact opposite of what some people have claimed.

Not to mention... Corsairs can use Razor paired with Tizonas, Casts can't do the same with Inferno.

As already brought up not so long ago in another thread, balance team is not responsible for how factions decide to play their chars. Balance-wise, your options are open and you have access to a variety of guns which fit the general line of what you're requesting. If the majority of Corsair players are unhappy with how their lore is working out ingame, gather a list of problematic infocards and file an official request, asking the story team to remove those "Doesnt use any gun but Sala/Tiz" references from rumos and whatnot, so then you can go on actually playing the game without feeling guilty about being a "lolwut".

I'm sorry but it's not our responsibility to give people more and more toys of their own just because they decide not to play with anything else. Times change, and so do people. Just because there's a rumor somewhere saying how 600 years ago Corsairs didn't use anything but Salas, doesn't mean that's still the case nowadays. Corsairs don't need new guns, they just need a more flexible roleplay.

To be fair this looks pretty lame. Not talking about corsairs but in general.

Discovery should be build around the factions not factions trying to crumb themselves down into discovery themselves. (Edit: Talking about Lore factions here.) Considering the shouts of how this server and mod is based on Role play. Why would balance issues have to be -only- focused on just that.

Sure it's not impossible to fly a Corsair, and they do have more than enough choices when it comes to how they can set up their vessels.

However to say that it's not your job to give people toys is pretty sad.

- Again, balance, development and story making should be formed around factions and to encourage role play. Not just "everybody equal chances".

On the guns part- not everyone is born with perfect aim, or have the time to develop such, hence more "easy" to use guns should be available together with more hard to use guns for the people with good aim.

See: Widows xD. The m/s is nais but if you don't have good aim, might as well get flashies or codies because your energy will be absolutely gone in uhm. Well, no time at all considering we mainly use eagles. Also, seems as though corsairs follow our "NO FOREIGN SHEEPS" rant with the replacement of sheeps with guns. I support that, roleplay should be first priority. Balancing should fit around roleplay, roleplay should not fit around balancing.

Also, tizona's are seriously really nice. If they're being made into bomber guns in .87 as I've read and it's final, THEN you should consider getting another hullbuster. To be completely honest, emp's are fine to begin with <.<

But that kind of a weapon on the Titan would likely end up a bit overpowered, as it could likely singleshot even most HFs. But there's an even more pressing reason. The Decurion and Centurion are overgunned for their powercore when you put energy-hungry guns on there. The Gladiator and Titan have such a heavy powercore for their gun count that they kind of -need- an energy hungry gun in order to make that craft stand out. Remember, the Titan does -not- have a forward turret like the Sabre. It's essentially down a weapon while it's an even heavier ship.

The Sairs require both a lighter, energy efficient weapon with lower damage, and a heavy hitting energy guzzler to complement their ships. The Salamancas fall in the latter category.
