I guess this is everything that needs to be said.
I'm sure we both know that you know that Spazzy meant the group of the Bass Hunters aren't an in roleplay created faction, just a group of players who created a name to be identified with easier, much like Sina and his Ducks.

Doj Wrote:I think plenty, actually. The more I look at it, the more this server and the Discovery mod in general is extremely PvP orientated with a simple sugarcoating of roleplay to make it attractive to different kinds of players as well.
Whhaaaaaattt??
What about people like TAZ, or most freelancers, or most of the factions on this server? What about the fact that (I'm not making this up) the majority of ingame encounters feature Rp which doesn't result in conflict? The only people I can think of whose ingame Rp encounters commonly result in gunfire is pirates, and the pirates have reason for that as the natural transport predators in the balance system.
Think of even what you need for combat: pre-emptive Rp. Not a three word engagement notice, but Rp. Combat always takes a back foot to it. Rp is what makes this universe immersive; the sense that you have a real part to play in the game; that you, personally have some imput into it's progress, development, and the experiences of others. You strip it down to just combat and everyone would be terrorising each other until Star Cit came out and everybody quit because there's nothing holding us here any more (I.E, no more Rp).
I play Rp, as Rp characters. I fervently believe Oorp activities, ragegroups and violations to the server's rulebook should be sanctioned thoroughly. We cannot bend the rules from personal preference.
Edit: (I just read this higher up XD):

I'm sure your fun group will do a lot to advance the rp of the community and I can't wait to have some high quality interactions with you all in game.
Reminds me of the time Sina was drunk and in Hamburg and I was on my at-the-time [LN] with Joe and a couple others and we were all roleplaying and Sina was fluttering around like mad without shields and wandered into my Mini Razor.

Demanding payment for building bases in house space. Making cardamine illegal in some specific territory. Making groups in general.
All of the above work just the same as what you have described. Forcing your rules on players through RP.

Look, as long as they role play, that is 100 % copper bottom provable role play, there's no reason why they shouldnt.
Besides, phoenix space port was five minutes early dead if it wasn't for the order, and that's core 4 so that theory breaks.
Edit : most basic RP : zone caps doing NFZ on their nephilim, having enough reason to shoot anyone that breaks it, sancationable ? No.
Now you imagine corsair caps ( unlike zoner ID they have more freedom ) shooting an outcast, GMG, AI bases - reasonable ? Yes, sancationable? Apparently judging what the admins did to them

Interesting example you chose.
And no: nothing about your group is irp.
Consequently it does not belong onto a roleplay server.
Your group is a troll squad, consisting of players who do not care for roleplay, and only for grieving and trolling people, who laugh their asses off on Skype and pull jokes on forums when you were successful and you lean back grinning, watching the fallout gleefully with a great display of arrogance and a feeling of superiority over all normal people who are just here to have fun and to play together with each other.
You'll not convince me that anything about this group is irp.
Count the bastilled caps.
Wow, hold on there, bucco. Telling me that the destruction of POBs is the main reason that people do not come to the server anymore is like saying that everyone on the server come here ONLY to build POBs. Our actions influence a very small part of the community, those who own bases or have ties to those who have bases. And as for the second part, again, the only interaction there is trying to help defend the bases. Also, everyone calm down and chill. You do realize all of this has been done before in different ways and multiple times by different people, just that this time we decided "Fuggit, let us just show how Disco works."
Might is right. The people with most influential contacts can mold Disco as they damn see fit. This has been done many times before, be it by the admins, the balance team or other. Either by them or through people with actual power. We simply like to show there are other ways to do this just by sheer number. It is working out quite nicely. Now, if you excuse me, I need to read back a few pages and start making replies to actual questions.
