Interesting example you chose.
And no: nothing about your group is irp.
Consequently it does not belong onto a roleplay server.
Your group is a troll squad, consisting of players who do not care for roleplay, and only for grieving and trolling people, who laugh their asses off on Skype and pull jokes on forums when you were successful and you lean back grinning, watching the fallout gleefully with a great display of arrogance and a feeling of superiority over all normal people who are just here to have fun and to play together with each other.
You'll not convince me that anything about this group is irp.
Count the bastilled caps.
Just going to say this here, once - I'm considering myself a decent and respectable guy, yet a ship of mine is there due to some sort of a mistake which will be cleared soon (I hope).
As far as I'm concerned with this group, for example, as long as with a Corsair ID ship they hunt the Corsairs' enemies, with other ID's they practice the same - It's not a problem.
I saw some that said something about this being OORP situation, well, here's what I saw recently. I've noticed that K'hara Hammurabi (nomad battleship) is wearing a cloak, and it's being powered with MOX. The person flying this ship told me that it's because the developers didn't made that available to them as well.
Alright, if that floats, then so does someone's ability to track the repair levels of your base (you can scan ships to see their repairs for example).
Bottom line:
As long as they respect the restrictions of the ID's they're using, I'm cool with it.
I was reading the topic and well there where some i have to respond to.

Even if faction A is neutral to faction B its more like that faction A has no real view on faction B. While faction B (or A) can have more towards the red then green stance about em ingame. Another example with it are zoners. They are good with many factions, but doesn't mean they cannot be pirated.
Futhermore i want to add that bases are IFF tagged. So any faction hostile to it is allowed to shoot it. At least how i see it.. Its not that its exciting to shoot a base, but thats up to the ones who actually like it. I see things like these:

In a way it happened before with the Itabashi station. How many people did tell there just to gather some force? Only difference is these guys show they did it. While many others do it in secret. I have been at some base sieging in this game, but its boring as hell. Always hoped that some defense would arise.. Once i saw (not that long ago) a huge activity within Zeta. So i logged my K'hara. Funny is that base was almost dying due to 3 corsair caps (maybe also the bass hunters i dont know.). and some indy nomads, order and zoners and even some LN force came to defend it. If it wasn't for that defense even big ooRP then that base would have been gone. Both Defense and siege are mostly ooRP done. people who want something gone log anything for the additional firepower to attack and for defense the same applies. Ak skypefriends. not that i bother much, but i have seen ooRP alliances a lot while people defended their stations or friends helped to defend it.

Problem is that they are shootting bases with Corsair IDs absolutely outside Corsair ZOI or attack Zoners without any previous RP (ingame or at forum). And the great final was shooting GRN approved bases with GRN IDed ships and then that absolutely retarded messages in comm channel. Trolling at its finest.

This is also what gives me pause about their supposed "we know what's best" attitude.

We...aim at bases?

Seriously though, attacking POBs and missiongrinding is the only place where caps are useful. Group fights they tend to be priority targets and go down fast and flying around in one is not really fun.

I can agree with you there, I'm not even bothering to learn how to fly my Legate properly for PvP because I only need it for missions.
And they are kinda like giant siege rams/towers or whatever they're called. Like those things from LoTR.
