I've seen more than 13 BAF battleships logged on at once
INB4 REMOVE DOOMSHRIMP ON BAF ID's
But in all seriousness, BAF are a house military faction with a means of supporting the use of battleships that they are, in lore, supposed to produce and maintain.
Zoners are none of those things - and the "battleships" that are being spammed are supposed to be incredibly rare colony ships that are being used in ways that they shouldn't be. Especially by people who use them as an excuse to propagate a completely wrong idea of what the Zoners are.
It's fine if people want the idea of what Zoners should be to evolve, but it's wrong to retcon and power-lore your way into a faulty conclusion.
It's something wrong with people, not with ships. Zoners haven't "battleships", but colony ships. Also if you're saying about how Zoner ships should be rare, do i need to remind you how many Rheinland should have them?
Also it's rather funny how complaining stream slowly turned from pobs to zoner caps.

Because we all know that waging wars you've been losing for now over 6 years (literally) is what gets you ressources, especially when a large part of your supplies are suddenly cut off by an enemy military, and that you're now basically fighting a Salted Land war (see: the destroyed trade lane of Leeds).
While on the other hand, Zoners kept expanding and discovered more and more areas to settle.
I'm not saying that justifies Zoners having Battleships, I'm just pointing this out.
DL, are you implying that a few million people engaged in a war for six years are less likely to build a fleet of battleships than twenty thousand space hobos?

Resorses can be spent not only for shipbuilding.... as you sayed, zoners keep looking for new place to exist too, and don't you think, they going there with empty hands?
Indeed, Zoners keep searching new places, where they can settle, away from house mess and so on. And they need ship like Nephilim, which could ack like a mothership or a colony ship, during planet colonization process. And yes, it's logicaly have to be armored at maximal possible level and armed in same way, to ensure survival of people on board. Because, lose of such ship, with all people on board, will be nearly catastrophic strike to Zoners.
That why it should never been used as a battleship. Use Valor, Legate, Ranseur, Kirk, Mako... they are battleships, and were made for battles.
P.S. thats only my opinion, and it would never happens, but... I think, that Nephilims should only exist as stationared bases. Like ship, on the orbit of planet, where Zoners establishing population. Let only Carriers, like uber heavy transports. That's my opinon.

I'm saying that the lore states they have less than 20 functional battleships left, as of the beginning of .86.
I actually remember LeMaitre doing a -really neat- diagram to represent it.

That there's an actual lore number for how many BAF battleships there are in-game in-universe, and that number includes the stationary battleships that already exist.
Yet, there's quite a few more BAF battleships owned by players that there should be by the lore. And that's not a problem at all. That's just what the gameplay of the game is.
