I've only encountered a non-nomad cloaking ship once, and it was a battleship with a well-executed tactical insertion.

Also, do you see a Nomad Cloaking everyday? Honestly, I think most of this is you go search for the nomad, and get mad because you can't find him and say 1 line and try kill him....

Actually... I changed my mind: Remove cloaks.
In a game that is about interaction, toys that keep people from interacting are counter-productive.

Unless the toys are properly balanced and allow new interactions to occur.

Read: Nerf cloaks, Nomad ones included. My personal idea was to make it so that they only burn fuel when you move around, but when you do, they burn quite a lot. This means that you can charge it up and sit somewhere to create an ambush without requiring cloaks to last for hours. Something similar would have to be done about Nomad cloaks. If possible, some sort of partial transparency rather than full transparency if the player is on the move? Think Starcraft 2 cloak - you can see it if you have a "trained eye", but you still can't target it.

Then, with all that done, add some sort of cloak disruptor to deal with those pesky infinite cloak Nomads and with 'suspected' human cloakers.

Additionally, cloaks shouldn't be available to everyone and their dog. It's simply ridiculous how every average citizen can have something that, according to vanilla lore, is incredibly difficult to get to work:

I think they actually did manage to get it working at one point, but the power it took was that of 10 battleship cores! Now, we're some 20 years ahead of vanilla technologically, so improvements are to be expected. I still doubt anyone but the LSF, BDM, Order, BHG Core (?) and other 'intelligence factions' would have any.
Oh, and Nomads of course.

TL;DR: Nerf cloaks substantially but keep them and encourage new gameplay that's fun for both the cloaking side and the non-cloaking side through new cloak disruptors.

Yes, because we've seen that all those factions can be totally responsible with their cloaks, right?

I dont care what they do with the cloak, bottom line is those faction should have them, were always supposed to have them, and no amount of complaining or nay saying should change the fact that they are supposed to have them.

these factions and Order osiris ships (not all the other dozen factions that have an osiris) are the ONLY faction ships that should have a cloaking device.

Cloaks are just too common right now.

Either make them expensive to use with dedicated moneysink commodities or make them way harder to manufacture.
