I must disagree with Gronath's and Kane's points about RM being busy whole day.
Not nearly enough, I think.
RM keeps the Rheinland very good, and it is obvious that they have no competition in RH space.
I agree, you maybe have a busy day fighting Indies and scanning smugglers, but that is not really the point.
You don't have a strong opposition to fight against.
RHA is ok, but they are not a match for RM, and they can't fight you alone.
They were doing fine while [W] guys were there tu support them, but now they are all alone.
Now, I can agree that RHA needs more members, and that RHA is more fighting oriented then Bundscuch.
But, my point stands - RM doesn't have a strong faction to fight against.
If you check all the other Houses, you'll see that Pirates are pretty much even with the Military forces.
But not in Rheinland. Maybe you'r used to it, but that doesn't mean that more enemies is a bad thing.
I do agree though that it happens to good factions to be chased by every 'fame-hunter' in Sirius.
That is a normal thing.

Bah, now LancerZero is gonna hate me!
I didn't mean it that way. You'r all great fellas, but you don't have the numbers to do it all alone. That was my point.

We could always say that negotiations and peaceful attempts have failed and now, with a radical change in leadership, the Bundschuh have become much more militarized. Basically, we need some kind of gross violation of our philosophy that Rheinland has committed to push the Bundschuh past the edge of pacifism. Or one of them read some George Orwell...
"Pacifism is objectively pro-Fascist.
This is elementary common sense.
If you hamper the war effort of one side,
you automatically help out that of the other.
Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war
as the present one.
In practice, 'he that is not with me is against me.' "

For the Orwell quote. While you're at it, you might also want to preach ideals at anyone who wanders into Rheinland space.
Since you are RPing the "little guy" you might want to act like you want to avoid confrontation with the RM. Engage only if engaged. After all, they are still fellow rheinlanders.

And of all Rheinland factions, the Bundschuh are the right ones to be 'the strong faction'? That's why I pointed to the RHA. The Bundschuh should be the 'weakest' faction in Rheinland if and when all others are active.

Answer is more factions or more members?
Really. One of my problems with this is that those factions (Gaians, Farmers Alliance, Bundschuh and Xenos) have very difficult and intricate RPs to them and the way I see it, that depth is just spoiled over, "Boooring... Let's fight!". *sigh*

Isn't that sorta self perpetuating? If the Bundschuh according to the faction screen are having trouble getting members, and people avoid playing them because of that, there's no reason to further their storyline at all and one of the more principled "bad guys" effectively disappears from the game.
If, on the other hand, lots of players flock under Bund's banner and find a way to play them with a purpose (other than kill spam) 4.85 can reflect that somehow.

You're absolutely right. If you make a character fighting for the underdogs, you should be flying garbage and expect to get beaten over and over and over again. Those guys aren't the winners and they never will be. It's the fight for the lost cause that makes them cool.
I'm glad you can all suggest that we join the RHA... but I'd rather be in a faction that is more active.
Quote:RM get more then their fair share of combat.
Funny, I've never seen a [RM] char engaged while I'm trading. And, I always trade for hour+ periods. I am by no means denying that you guys trade and such, just saying that I never see you all attacked by all these different groups.
By the way, we pirate and engaged the RM actively. Why? Well, quoting this from the Bundschuh infocard...:
"Now the Bundschuh is not much more than a group of pirates and dissidents based in Frankfurt..."
As for us flying RHA vessels... well, the infocard also states that we survive through our close alliance with the RHA. Outcast? Well, that's all that's sold at our bases.
Again, I apologize for some of the actions of our members, but most of our members ARE new to the community. Most of them don't understand the general flow of the way things work here yet. I'm the only one who has played Disco for awhile now, but we're all doing our best to pull things together. Most of us can RP well, and I'm sure you'll see that.
Erm... Chopper? I'm gonna let you in on a little secret here...
The day when we get a daily report from our officers that -doesn't- have at least one combat in it is very rare indeed. It's pretty literally every day we get -somebody- coming in we have to fight. Most days, it's several somebodies. I dunno about you, but I can only stomach so much combat. Part of the reason why I don't come on very often anymore.
So, you want us to be -more- busy? Heck man, I'm half tempted to say "Screw it" and put -everyone- on leave for a week or so. Go bother some other house faction. Powers know Bretonia could use some action, and Kusari -definately- needs someone besides the Nova PG. Heck, they need a real navy force more then anything! And Liberty... FFS guys, the day there isn't a handful of LPI, LSF, SA, or USS on at any given time will be a rare one indeed. You want a faction that doesn't have enough to do? Go look there.
