"Shall we get ourselves some privacy?" the reaver asked, showing the way.
Zero replied with a motion of his hand, bidding the two to lead the way to their table by the pond, which was far enough from the people crowding the bar.
He followed behind them slowly, still feeling the sweet buzz in his head. As he followed, he was trying to focus in his tired mind enough to try to get to know his possible accomplices.
The reaver in charge sounded and acted nice, which was a good thing for any organization, helping cooperation among the members, Zero thought. Not that he knew enough about it to decide, or was in a situation to rely on a team before.
And the woman... she preferred to keep silent, from what he saw. She didn't get angry to the bird that was bothering her, though she did want it away from herself. It was a good indication of her concentration at the matter at hand, and her reserved nature.
But he knew these assumptions would most probably be further from the truth... It was hard to judge people at first sight... It was hard to know the heart of people even if you knew them for a long while. One should always reserve judgement, he thought to himself on the way; quickly losing himself in random pursuit of thoughts again in his head.
Jack sighs quietly, nodding to himself. "Well, what else can you expect from people around here I suppose. Different of all kinds.. Left though, eh." Going off on his own thoughts for a little, before being pushed back into reality.
"So Sean, what's up? Anything new wants, or such going on in your head? Of course I am pretty sure I asked that like a week ago, although i've been quite busy arguing with myself about which is better. Black coffee, or with cream. I admit, I lost a few arguments to myself. It's rather depressing. Although that's not the point right now."
Grabbing a credits chip from his pocket for a drink.
Sitting on the opposite side of the reaver, Zero struggled to answer. Was it the killing that motivates him? Not really, life and death was the same for him, the act of killing would not give him any satisfaction. The process, the illusion that separates life and death, that was what he was after...
"The hunt... is what I am after... The chase... the battle. I am part of this equation between life and death. I can not care if my prey is dead or alive after I caught it."
He added, "Besides... I have to eat. All I can do is to fly and fight... nothing else. I have got nothing else... I might as well not exist, otherwise."
"Money," came the second reply, as Satoko began speaking in turn. Holding Cerulean's gaze, she peered at him over the rim of her glasses, which were misting up in the humid conditions. "That's all. For years, I have had no issue with paying others to do this kind of work on my behalf. Now, the only difference is that I would be on the other end of the payroll."
Having finished talking, she took her glasses off and began rubbing the glass with a handkerchief, clearing them up. The Sylvania Dome was proving to be an irritating venue, with annoying birds and foggy lenses, but she made no comment.

Martin already had a follow-up question in mind.
"And why the Reavers?" he asked as his eyes went from the Kusarian woman to the giant Guildsman, "Why do you think working for the Company will be more fruitful than working for the Guild, or as an independent mercenary?"
"Pursuit of knowledge... A question I have to ask, or find out myself... however, you do not have the answer..." Zero said cryptically to Martin.
"The second reason, I've already told you in my message... The guild can not provide me what I seek," he continued slowly, trying to form up words in his mind, and really felt tired now. "I do not choose sides, except for my own, and here I know I'll be provided with more opportunities... The second you neglect providing me those opportunities, I'll have to leave you behind like I did to the guild. As long as I have those opportunities, you'll have a very content money making machine. This will be a honest relationship of benefit for both sides..."
"The Company is more effective than the guild by far, and with a more lucrative array of employers," stated Satoko matter-of-factly, as if quoting from a report. "Further to that, the Company has always done well by the Hogosha. Your reputation for successful contract work is outstanding."
She finished cleaning her glasses, putting them back on as she continued speaking.
"I considered going independent, but I value the benefits engendered by being part of an organisation - security and so forth - as worth more than the positives of being a lone freelancer."
