It's not my call Lyth, but personally sure I imagine Junkers having acces to such scanner.

Don't even try man.
Itll be the same thing like every other thread.
Traders always complain that they are in the disadvantage.

*Cry cry* oh were defenseless *Cry Cry* our ships move slow *Cry Cry* [Insert another Excuse Here]...
Now they jump trade too...

Space is dangerous...As a trader you take a risk...
Pirates are supposed to be OP by nature...That's because that's what they spend all they're time doing.
I wish Pirates were able to equip an Anti-Battleship Scanner While they can scan 20k away...
and also itd be nice but i dont think its able to be done which would be that we could have Pulse-type weapons...

It still doesn't make sense to me. On one side you say it is bad to have a scanner to avoid interaction easily as a trader and on the other side you say it is okay to have a scanner to avoid interaction as a pirate.

If you want traders to be "punishable" for trading by pirates then why shouldn't pirates be "punishable" for pirating by lawfuls?

I don't get the logic behind that, sorry even if I reread your posts twice. But hey, that's just me and I could get accustomed with every change so far, so why not this one. *shrugs*

Frankly, anyone who thought it was a good idea to mount a battleship scanner on anything but a capital vessel, during a beta, and on top of that believed that 25K range on on a trading vessel was in any way balanced deserves to have their toy removed just for displaying a lack of brain cells.

Edit: Plus, in the case of (lane) piracy, you can't combat range with range, so your idea will help little to fix that issue.

No no no, let me explain.


Traders shouldn't be able to avoid interaction that easily as they can at the moment; they are the very beginning of activity.
Pirates, on the other hand, are much fewer in numbers than ganking navies, bunters, police forces, escorts etc. They should see coming angry lawful capgank from long distance, retreat to some deeper system and hit the lanes in other part of the House/terrains around it. If there's big probability they'll get caught and ganked to hell any time they pirate lanes, that's bad, and sadly that's how it is now - I intensively play pirates for few months now and it's hard, no wonder why people don't want to do that.

If you use Liberty as an example, you're gonna have a bad time...


And otherwise it's just the exception proving the rule, even if some pirate faction gets temporary activity boost, things sooner or later return to stagnation and inactivity.

I can't see why it's impossible to remove it now even with a bunch of people QQing about it.

For having transports with thoses scanners are seriously breaking the traders/unlawfulls/lawfulls balance.
Trying to add something else to fix what is broken won't work, i fear.

i like the idea, if traders don't want to get rid for that sum of cash (i can understand it) give us some thing to have similar... or a way to create interferences...
