He gave a laugh, "If I can play? Well, I'll give you this promise. When I get one here, you'll be the first person I play for. I can sing a bit too so..."
He came back towards her, still a bit cheery but relaxed, "I guess business partner wasn't the right word. I think......business guest would be better. I mean, I'll work in the shadows unbeknownst to most."
He looked around the lounge again before turning back to her, "Yup, I think I should get some essentials for this place. While my engineers work, I can head to Denver. They should have what I need and it's not that far. Is there anything you or the rest of the Rogues would need? I know I'll need some good bedding to put my head down on at night."
He again filled his glass, nursing yet another drink, offering to re-fill hers.
Thing smiles and shrugs slightly as if to say 'I wasn't to know', She hadn't picked him to be the singing type. "You know. I'd like that.... And please, don't feel like you're only a guest here...." As far as she was concerned He had as much right to be there a the rest of the Rogues. He would be offering what he could to make their communities better and that was better then most of the men had done who had been born Rogues.
After he asks if there is anything they need, she just shrugs slightly, almost looking lost. It had been a long time since she had set foot somewhere lawful, and wasn't sure what they even had there to begin with. "I.... No. I don't think so. but thank you."
Thing nodded when he offers to fill her drink up again. She was never a big drinker, so this was already starting to make her feel slightly tipsy. "Please." She paused "What sort of stuff were you thinking for here?"

He poured her another drink of the Coalition Vodka that she seemed to be enjoying, putting the bottle back down on the bar.
Standing next to her, he looked about the lounge.
"Oh, nothing fancy. I just wanted to get some basic goods here. Bedding, consumer and luxury consumer goods will provide comfort for all here. It's easily gotten. I also want to establish some regular food supplies here of real food, not rations or that Eris awful Synth Paste."
The alcohol was making him feel loose, not drunk but loose as he was quite tolerant to it with the exception of Grog which he was now avoiding. It took him an extra second or two to think but that might be his only indicator. Was he slurring? He couldn't tell.
"That stuff in itself will be a good start," he added, "I'll bring medicines and such once sick bay is up to my standards."
He then looked to her, "You must have some ideas I'm sure. I mean, a woman's touch always helps."
She smiled "Rations aren't that bad once you get use to them..... But I will agree on that synth paste. It's awful...." Nodding in agreement, she wondered how much work the sick bays needed. Thing knew the Rogues had been hitting Fosters hard for quite some time, and was unsure of the damage they had caused.
"Woman's touch?" She laughed "I'm not so good at that sort of stuff you know.... I go by the whole if its practical it can stay thing." She thinks for a moment before adding "Something needs to be done with the bar here though.... At least a good clean up, if not something more..." She lent over and looked behind the counter where there was broken glass, and damaged floors. The counter top was rough, but she liked the look of it. It gave it some character. " But that will all happen in due time, I guess."

Doc nodded a bit, "I like practical....and simple." He waved his hands in thought, "Functional! Besides, with the varying people we might expect to see, drunken brawls can be expected so extravagant and complicated gets costly."
He thought a moment and put his finger up to wait!
He then took out his datapad and made a call to his chief engineer.
"Mr. Sloan, when time allows, could you or one of your men come up to the lounge, someone who is good at, say, carpentry or home decorating."
"Yes, Sir. We're busy right now but I'll send someone up soon," was the answer.
Doc turned to Thing wish a smile, "While they work, we can decide what we want. I can have a shuttle bring goods as needed........and I'm sure the Rogues can bring some things as well."
Doc looked around, "Shall we go see what else this station needs? Lots of areas to look at."
Thing grins "Judging by the track record of the Rogues and alcohol.... I would suggest something that doesn't, well, break easily." She adds "I've seen many bar fights in my time."
She nods when he mentions a shuttle "I have one particular transport pilot in mind.... If you need anything from the Rogues, let me know and I'll pass on a list."
She hesitated slightly when he mentioned having a look at the rest of the base, still not sure at the extent of damage, almost regretting the attacks now. "Sure, Hopefully its not in terrible condition."

Doc gave a nod and a light smile as he put his glass down and motioned to a corridor. Together, they walked to tour the rest of the station. The levels and surrounding areas were largely undamaged. After all, a lounge isn't considered an area of importance to an attacking Rogue.
Offices were in the level as well for the base administrator, executive officer as well as some other high ranking staff. It was obvious that people left in a hurry as personal items were left behind, files, half-packed bags and even a few personal weapons that were left. But what got Doc's attention was a doll, probably that of a little girl, left on a bed. Doc sighed thinking of a very disappointed little girl who was caught in the middle of someone else's dispute. After looking at it, he left it where he found it. For a moment, his humanitarian side came out.
"I have no interest in the weapons," Doc told Thing, "do with them as you wish."
A couple of decks down was the comm center. It was intact but had only limited power to it. A call to his chief engineer affirmed that it would be some time before full power was restored to critical areas. As with the offices and personal quarters they had found, much was left behind.
Shortly thereafter, Doc found the sick bay which had some extensive damage. The area of the station they were at looked to have been hard hit as a nearby docking bay was all but destroyed. Doc looked around with heavy interest. Wires and conduits still hung damaged while monitors and computer equipment were either destroyed or damaged. Doc cringed a bit as he looked, "Yup, this place will need my touch."
As he forced open a door, a strong smell of death overtook the both. Within a pile of rubble lay the rotting corpse of a man in a DSE uniform. This was nothing new to Doc but it was disturbing as the man wore a medical uniform. Reality stung for a moment of a doctor's life on a station. He motioned for Thing to step back a bit to avoid exposure. Having only a small medical tricorder in a pocket, he examined it with his sleeve covering his mouth.
Doc only shook his head and asked Thing to see if she could find something to cover him up with.
"He died instantly at least," he said aloud, "severe head trauma from the explosion. I suppose if you're going to go, go quick."
Doc waited, looking for ID of the man while he waited.
Thing shook her head as she looked around at all of the half packed bags, picking a very damaged notebook up off the floor and putting it on a filing cabinet. At his mention of the weapons, she brought her hand up to where hers belonged on her hip, she had left it back where they were drinking earlier.
She was a few steps behind Doc as he opened the door, seeing the corpse on the floor she froze for a moment, nodding slowly when he asked her to find something to cover him with. "I was told there was only people who wanted to harm us here....." She spoke quietly, sorrow in her voice. Thing turned away and walked back into the other room, returning with a bed sheet, "Will this be ok?" She held it out for Doc. "It was all I could find."

He accepted this sheet. "This will do until I can get him out for a proper burial." After a brief search, he headed for the door only to stop before Thing. He turned and gave a weak smile, gently placing his hands on her shoulders as he spoke TO her.
"Maybe the organization but NOT everyone in it," he explained, "we doctors know the risks. We accept work in the most hostile of areas at times because it's where people need help the most. I work amongst fighting Corsairs, Bounty Hunters, Hessians, Outcasts and Eris knows what else all because the refugees, widows and abandoned children need the help."
He then released his grip and backed off a couple of steps, unsure how she would take his touch. Standing back, he finished, "A good doctor takes his Hippocratic Oath seriously. I've never charged one credit for my services." He hmphed before continuing, "Which is more than I can say about some around Sirius. Charging for service I can take but there are doctors who use medicine as a weapon."
He then shook his head, "No, not everyone is out to hurt you."
He then motioned for the door as they continued examining the base.
She flinched at his touch and dropped her gaze, now looking at the ground. The confidence she portrayed earlier was replaced with what could only be described as submissiveness. As he continued to talk she slowly began to relax, hiding her embarrassment about her reaction well.
Once he stepped back, she looked up at him. "Medicine is a weapon. Health is for those who can afford it. The ones like us... The people who are just surviving... We are forgotten about. Children here are dying of diseases that just simply shouldn't kill them." She shrugs slightly "No one said life was fair"
Thing stepped through the door and looked around the next room, which was in no better condition to the one they were just in.
