Gentlemen,
after the Ion Storm, I continued the chase of the said smuggler and could succesfully fine him with the help of Sgt. Vimes and Constable Roxburg. Shortly after that, we got an alarm about the Corsair gunboats near Planet New London!
Vimes and myself charged into the system while Roxburg landed on the Essex to get his SRD out. When we reached New London, both Vimes and I activated our comms in order to make the Corsairs identify themselves and stop the massacre.
As we were still speaking though, they engaged without a word, focussed the gunboat fire, first on me, than on Vimes, our Hussars still flying still and in line. Atrocious pirates!
Luckily, our pods were tractored in by Waterloo station and we were treated immediately. We headed to our set of spare Hussars as soon as we recovered and headed outside, the Corsairs long gone by now.
In Dublin there were both CR and UoG vessels present, and, Sir Lauderdale's words in mind, Vimes succesfully managed to mediate between them, having the Colonials leave. After another set of Ion Storms though, we had the same situation and this time, the Colonials were really stretching it.
We managed to convince the Molly, UoG:Phantom to leave to Arranmore and scanned the Colonials. Two of them were carrying Synthetic Marijuana! As well, they did not agree to leave Bretonia.
We asked them to either pay the fine for carrying the contraband or drop the cargo immediately. They did not give in and even taunted us and the Queen's nation!
I hereby vote for another change in diplomacy towards the Remnant - they have yet again proved that their members are not able to follow the lawful way in our state and provoked a fight with us, although they had many alternatives.
As Sgt. Vimes was giving them one last chance, a Corsair suddenly undocked from the Hood. I followed him, letting the others behind, since I wanted to make sure he wouldn't harm anyone. In Cambridge I paid the Bounty Hunter Megiddo, a trusted fighter for the law, and made sure he would guard the system, since I wanted to head back and help my comrades. By the way, I strongly recommend paying the hunters, should they ever help you. Not only will they be grateful; it will reassure their loyalty to the Crown and it is their job after all.
Anyways, as I got back to Dublin, the =CR=Midnight and the =CR=Soulhunter had already fallen in front of our guns. Constable McNab unfortunately got a shot to his engine and had to eject. His pod was safely tractored in by Vimes. I engaged =CR=Panzer with the other ones but unfortunately fell victim to one of my own mines, as the Panzer dropped my shield in the exact moment I used my nuclear launcher. Due to the tension, the nearby mine exploded and my Hussar suffered the same fate. I'm bumping around in Vimes' tiny cargo hold and waving to McNab right now. Vimes will probably update us with the end of the fight.

What a unimaginable fuss about a lousy fine of 1mil credits!
As Sgt. Cooper already reported, we engaged the CRs for their repeated refusals to obey our orders. The nearby Mollies used this chance to open the fire on them as well and the confusion was perfect. Apparantly even the captain of the Hood was confused as he soon started to fire at anything that moved.
After two Colonials were downed, the remaining ones retreated to the Hood. I used this short cease fire to order the Mollies to retreat and they surprisingly complied. So, the battle dissolved as quickly it has started. I brought the pods of Const. McNab and Sgt. Vimes to the New London Royal Hospital where I am waiting for their recovery.
But the Raven, sitting lonely on that placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered; not a feather then he fluttered--
Till I scarcely more than muttered, "Other friends have flown before--
On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before."
<blockquote>Then the bird said, "Nevermore."</blockquote>

Good day sirs,
Today's patrol was quite successful. Starting the patrol at Planet Cambridge, I was greeted by the Mandelorians. Quite fine fellows they are. After less than a few words between us, I moved to the Norfolk. There I spotted a Corsair Gunboat named with some odd code (Z29-something or other, I can't remember), and I calmly asked him to leave. Surprisingly, he accepted my proposal to leave peacefully, and did so with utmost punctuality.
I then continued to New London, and began conversing with a very fine chap named Buchanan who stated that he was the CEO of Gateway Shipping. While conversing, however, I came upon yet another Corsair Gunboat about 8k away form New London coming from Southampton. I, again, asked him to leave peacefully. This one, however, did not cooperate so willingly. After a bit of explaining what "Military Force" meant, I asked the Mandelorians to escort him out for 1 million credits each if they accepted. They did, and streamed into the Dublin system, where the pilot had taken refuge. I did, however, misinterpret how many Mandelorians there were in the area, and had to ask Mr. Buchanan for a few credits for when the Mandelorians had fulfilled their contract. He, surprisingly to me, did give some money calling it a "Token of goodwill and cooperation from Gateway Shipping."
The Mandelorians have yet to complete their contract, and if so they are to be paid one 1 million credits each as offered. I waited for quite some time, and no report from them had been made.
Great to not be fired upon for once,
Constable Gregory Vederman signing off.

I'm just checking in. I have been conducting fairly frequent patrols throughout Bretonia during the off-hours, and have had nothing much to report outside the usual. I wanted you to know, however, that I continue performing my duties on a rather regular basis.

Gentlemen,
quite the patrol tonight. I took off on Planet New London and performed a few routine scans, then continued to Leeds. As I took the lane to Stokes, two QCRF vessels came in sight - and a giant Huntress cruiser firing at them! The cruiser, named IkArO carried a Farmer's Alliance ID and displayed a Xeno IFF - quite strange.
As well, there were Nomad cannons aboard, unregistered ones!
Seeing my comrades shot at, I immediately engaged and together, joined by a civilian freelancer, we stripped it's shields several times and managed to harm the hull quite a bit.
Unfortunately, the Huntress managed to take the civilian, Gonta, and the Privateer, [QCP]Juno.Kietan down. Their cargo pods landed safely in my hold though. After a while, the Huntress gave up, since it's guns were way too slow to hit our fast Hussars. It retreated to Tau 31.
Furthermore, we chased a Lane Hacker Gunboat named [OLD]Harakiri until it entered the Arranmore field - it was IDed as a pirate. I suggest any [OLD] is added to our watch list, as it seems to be a criminal organization.
Later, we took up Kusarian signals on long range scanners! We chased them and came into a 2.5k distance; a KNF Chimaera heavy fighter ([KNF]Date.Masamune) and a Kusari transport ship (I-90|Trader-Convoy) full of Plutonium came in sight! They were flying in the upper planes and headed to the Omega 49 jump hole. Unfortunately, they made the jump in time as I couldn't get any closer to them to fire a cruise disruptor. We need to watch out for the enemy's covert operations!
Immediately after they jumped, a vessel came in scanning range, -[Space_Trucker]-. That guy was unlucky, as he was caught red-handed with a full load of Synthetic Marijuana! He paid the fine though, so I let him proceed.
Back in New London, we encountered a freelancer, vRawzi, carrying Nomad weaponry. He was unwilling to register or to drop his weapons though, so we (a QCRF fighter, a Mandalorian, Sgt. Vimes and I) engaged.
That possibly infected guy got away though as an Ion Storm hit the system.
Even more activity in Dublin then; a Corsair had been sighted by a trader. As we came in range, the Praetorian bomber, Erebus, proved to be an Order pilot "mapping the area". As we suspected him to be a spy, we showed him the door and escorted the bomber out to Omega 49.
New London, finally. Another Corsair had been sighted, Rafa. This one was special though, as he obviously had the docking codes for many stations in the system! A Mandalorian, Vimes and I observed as he docked Kensington and Canterbury three during our quarrel! After that he got away to Cambridge... we have to watch out for spies from any side, gentlemen!
I'm incredibly tired now, after making sure Cambridge is safe, another Ion Storm hit the area. I am safely docked at the Norfolk though and will take a break here until the area outside is safe again.

Subject: Outcast Confrontation
Sirs:
Extraordinary events this day! I flew to Cambridge due to high traffic in the area; thought it would be good to have a look around. Upon reaching the planet, I enountered an Outcast Destroyer (!) [ESS][D-SkyWolf]. I could in no way confront him directly, so I circled at a distance to see what he was up to. He was engaged by a number of our lesser units (//NPCs). I told him to leave the system, which, of course, he did not do. I asked him what he was doing, and he replied "Rep Fixing"; must be some sort of Outcast rite of passage.
Irregardless, at that point, I scanned his cargo bay. To my dismay, the SkyWolf had more than sixty civilian, police, and military pilots in hold, including both Rheinlanders and Bretonians, and even a Bretonian Fleet Admiral! This did not include the more than 100 pirate pilots he had also captured.
I realize it is not Bretonian government policy to negotiate with pirates, but I felt I had to do something to win their release. I commensed negogiations immediately. At first, he refused to release, saying he wanted them for his "collection." However, I shortly had him interested in some sort of ransom. Meanwhile I notified naval forces in Leeds of the situation and requested immediate assistance.
Within a few short minutes, Captain Scott arrived in his bomber, and with the help of Navy pilot Isaac Brock, we engaged the pirate after he refused yet again to leave. I could not, of course, do much more than provide a distraction, but after a fierce battle, the Outcast was destroyed. All prisoner pilots were returned to safety (except the pirates, who were given into custody). As I understand it, a RepEx transport took the Rheinlanders home.
I have several images of the entire encounter, but am unable to upload.
It is disconcerting to have an Outcast destroyer around Planet Cambridge, to say the least. However, it is somewhat reassuring that they now know they'll be met with effective resistance. Perhaps that will make them think twice next time.

As Constable Trevelyan has told you, the operation was a success! All pilots returned safely to Cambridge Medical for evaluation. I would like to congratulate Trevelyan on his brace attempts at requesting a prisoner transfer, although unsuccessful, even I admit it takes guts to stare down an Outcast Destroyer in a Hussar. Also, during the fight he successfully dodged and distracted the Outcast. Well done Constable, the tea is on me!
Sir Lauderdale, the SRD wing has very few pilots, in fact I believe only three including me. I would like to request more men be sent to this wing if possible.

Good day friends,
As I got into my faithful Hussar today at the Glasgow outpost in Leeds and started warming up the engines, I noticed 3 KNF ships in Leeds.
I quickly launched out into space and started patroling the Leeds system.
Soon enough, I found them attacking the Stokes Mining Facility.
I contacted the KNF ships and asked them to leave Bretonia space in a peacful manner, but the response I got back was less than cooparitive.
As the KNF continued attacking every ship around Stokes, and started threatning me, a BPA officer in bretonia space, I had no choise but engage them.
Luckely, the bounty hunter Kuun-Lan in his Bounty Hunter Battlecruiser was near and after a request for help on my part, engaged the KNF ships after they refused to leave Bretonia space.
With the Bounty Hunter Battlecruiser on our side, the KNF stood no chance.
Two were quickly destroyed and the third one ran soon enough after taking severe damage to his hull.
I offered the bounty hunter a payment as a token of my appriciation, but he refused to accept it.
Infact this bounty hunter is a noble pilot and should be treated in honor for his help.
Signing out,
Brian

Gentlemen,
today's patrol report is - unfortunately - marked by very unpleasant events. As Sergeant Vimes, Constable Lawrence and myself were on patrol in Cambridge today, we encountered a "trader", using Corsair IFF, [OTC]Ivan. He docked Cambridge Research Station, ignoring our orders to shut down his engines. After he infiltrated the station, he openly declared he was supporting the "great Corsair nation" by bringing our pharmaceuticals to Crete! As well, he ignored our words, declaring that supporting an enemy of Bretonia is - of course - a crime in our state.
By that time, he had already called help into the system - [OPG]Asno, a Corsair gunboat.
Since he was openly collaborating with our declared enemies, I hereby declare all [OTC] vessels to be ordered out of Bretonia and - if not complying immediately - to be killed on sight.
The Asno immediately opened fire when arriving at the scene and, without saying a word, destroyed Constable Hardin's Hussar. After tractoring in his pod, we announced the engagement and opened fire.
After a short time, Constable Lawrence fell to the strong gunboat turrets and was tractored in by Vimes.
Luckily, Constable Heydon could be contacted and brought his SRD unit to the fight.
The Corsairs had called for help as well though, and a few minutes later, [RC]Esorio (a bomber) and [OPG]Horus (another gunboat!) engaged. We failed at protecting the SRD unit and Const. Heydon had to eject.
Taking his place, QCRF Ensign Michelle Garibaldi rushed into the fight, lending us a needed hand. To my chagrin, Sgt. Vimes had to eject shortly after that from his burning Hussar.
Together with Ms Garibaldi, I managed to take down the bomber,
but her Templar was destroyed a few minutes after the partial success. Left alone against two gunboats, I had no choice but to retreat to the Norfolk. The Constables Hardin, Lawrence and Heydon, Sgt. Vimes and Ensign Garibaldi are in medical treatment, the doctors assured me that they won't suffer from any persistent injuries though.
Apart from that, all [RC] vessels are to be treated as enemies of the state as well from now on.
The war with the Corsairs has been waging for ages - and those filthy pirates still tend to behave in our space as they please! This has to change!
Cooper out.

The dashed impertinence of the chap! I was on patrol this evening, welcoming civvies as they arrive in Bretonia Space in Manchester. This vessel was leaving Bretonia Space with a hold full of Deuterium, so as per BPA policies on contraband etc. I asked the old fellow, politley of course, to kindly let me know the ultimate destination of this valuable cargo.
Imagine my surprise when the pilot informed me that it was destined for a station in New Tokyo.
Well I did what any honest bobbie would do. I informed the pilot that Bretonia policy forbade the transfer of goods such as Deuterium to destinations in Kusari because of the war, and that I would escort him to any Bretonia station where he would receive a fair price for his cargo.
The cheeky blighter remarked "If there's a war, why aren't you at the front?" and attempted to use the trade lanes.
I radioed the lane supervisor, old friend of mine from Eton, who shut down the lane, whereupon the pilot engaged his cruise engines.
I was so amazed at this that I splashed tea all down the front of my nice blazer. Needless to say, I pursued the chap, requesting him to stop, advising him that this would not look good on his record, and reminding that the BPA compiles a list of "Wanteds" who flagrantly breach BPA policy. He did not comply.
Well I caught him, and managed to disrupt his cruise engines.
And I was about to set to for a good old-fashioned bully-off when at this point, regrettably, an ion storm caused my scanners to shut down completely.
