As the modular buildup of the Haven greatly favours economic factors over personal comfort, the living spaces on board the Station tend to be group habitats for up to six persons. These housing units cluster around a central hub for the crew or the group, and offer little space to gather socially. Also these housing units are allotted to the crews in a rotating shedule : two weeks shift, one week free. Here you sleep, live... but not much more.
The space allotment in the clinic is a little more generous, but there is little room for social space here. Operating theatres, logistics, laboratories and all the necessities for patients and staff take away most of the space in the upper housing module at the Haven. Patients and Staff live side by side with the rest of the Crews, using the same modular habitats adapted to their needs.
You get good treatment here, but no luxury. This is no Spa Orbital.
In the main corridor you find a long panorama picture, etched into some lange hull plate salvaged from one of wreck pieces found floating near Cold Bay in Hudson : Somebody worked long on this piece of Scrap, and if you look carefully at it you can see the names of two hundered crewmen engraved into the picture.
Some here, some over there...
And there is a lot of space left.
Also the names of ship wrecks and crews lost have been etched into the metal :
One exemple : { SiriusRelief / Kepler } Another 56 names are engraved here.
Behind the sound isolating double curtain hiding the emergency gates at the entrance to the one open space in the lower module you can find the cantina bristling with activity nearly anytime you care to come here. After all there are more than 600 crewmembers and clinic staff living at the Haven and some of them always tend to gather here.
Also you can meet ship crews from all around Texas and the surrounding systems. Traders, Mercenaries, Junker scrappers and sometimes visiting Congressmen or Marauders. This is a neutral trading space, with sirius wide customers.
Sometimes a passing LPI Officer gets a good meal here before his next patrol, too.
Somebody came up with an ancient design from some historic trideo novel and a few of the crewmen spent a lot of their time setting up a smaller bar at the back of the room, next to the back entrance leading to the connection corridor between the living quaters and the module housing the offices of the Foreman, the SRO´s CEO and the Clinic´s Chief Resident.
A grizzled old Junker named Olson is defending it currently and claims to be the Barman.
And shielded with a sliding wall screen to the buisy cantine there is another secluded room, part of the bigger hall and reachable through the sliding screen.
Soon the room was used for discreet meetings, but all cept clear of the old instrument standing on the podest.
Fynn only smiled if he was asked and old Olsen always replies by asking if anybody can play the Instrument.
The Haven has no great and famous Bar,
but you can get a hot meal and a chilled drink at any time you dock.
Find some company, get a drink, strike a deal.
Hail to all T&T shippers out there. RancheroWrap here - a Freelancer hauler pilot looking for a place to stop and visit every so often as I pass through the area. Happy to bring in some goods and take on shipping for those that need it.
Fynn - would you be so kind as to add me to the docking registry?

Welcome to the Haven, Joe.
Remember we are quite a relaxed bunch of individualists, but we want no contraband here.
Ask around if you have questions, Olsen at the Bar or one of our members will be sure to answer.
And if you want to join us : we can always need a few more traders here.
Hi there Folks !
Olsen here, your Barman at Tinkers Haven.
Welcome to the Cantina.
Plenty of newcomers lately, and lots of guests.
And as I noticed , somehow they all tend to ask the same questions.
Not that I mind. I like the gossip after all.
But a lot of the questions are sound, and deserve a sound answer.
So lets gather round for some stories...
Olsens comments on the Tinkers rep and other factions
Lets start with our friends and allies, will we ?
After all, for a Junker, family and friends are the only real wealth.
Money comes and money goes. And enemys tend to cling like bad luck, till you manage to junk the lot. Or get junked yourself.
Freelance ID
Most of Tukkers people see themselves as Freelancers. I suppose we all are now.
I still see myself as Junker, but we here at Tinkers are smeltering a new brand of people, and I like these Freelancer civilians. Unafraid to break conventions but still bound by a honour code.
Jes... I like being a Tinker.
Junkers ID
We are the salt of the Universe, my friend.
Well... did you know that much of the stuff in the clouds is pure alcohol in one or the other form ?
We Junkers are Sirius´ best bet to get rid of the stuff *smiles and winks*.
We are like gas clouds... we dissipate to every place we can reach, but our own gravity also tends to pull us together.
Junker Congress Forum on DISCO server
Fine folks, and pretty much the nearest thing we Junkers have like some official... hm... government ?
That word doesn´t fit well with us. *Ruling* Junkers is pretty much the most stupid thing anybody could try to do.
So give them credit for still trying it. And hear what they have to say.
Somebody has to see to it that the scattered communities and families dont get stomped by some house or corporation.
Till now they managed to weather any storm, ceeping us a safe refuge in Puerto and at Inverness, and ceeping us all from killing each other in a brawl at the next bar. Respect them for it.
Junker Marauders Forum
Hm, Marauders. I flew with them as a kid, but I quit it someday.
Good Junkers, and there is nobody I´d rather have around me if things turn from bad to worse.
See, it´s their piracy and their agressive nature that makes then so feared. And rightly so.
But also it´s one of the reasons why every little sheepy pilot in the house areas hates us Junkers.
Hogosha and Xeno´s would probably be much more a threat if they wouldn´t be out there.
Help them if you can, and keep an eye out for them. There´s always profit out there , and it´s never boring.
Still... the best die joung. Expecially ´round the Marauders.
ALG ID
Probably the next best thing to be after being a Junker. Ok.... after being a Junker or a Freelancer
*laughs and takes a swing at his wine*
The ALG might be a realy big company, but they started small, too. And their leader´s have not forgotten that. Also... Junkers and ALG have long been helping each other. Heck, the ALG´s Delta wing of Bombers even started a defense cordon for the Haven once.
*He leans towards the audience and whispers*
Stationed at Beaumont they are. Good friends, and all drinks here at the Haven are free for them as long as I breathe. Cheers !
AFC pages
Ha ! I wasn´t so sure as Fynn first invited that lot to Tinkers Haven, but I must say I was impressed as I travelled to Blackport66 for the first time. And one of their races ? A must have seen, and a great opportunity to gamble. Speaking of gambling... they do have a fine Casino out there, and it´s not a Spa&Cruise installation. Good friends. Always greet them , always help them.
And in a pinch ? Call them, and be sure to throw a party afterwards. By the way, you can buy a lot of Stuff that somehow got lost along the Lanes at their docks, so it´s always worth to take a load of RA´s and pass by.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Independent_...faction%29
Talking about professionals : These guys are deep. Be careful around them, and friendly. If we get a chance to trade with them we will take it, but so far... they ignore Junkers mostely, but are constantly fighting with the Marauders, so it´s best to ceep clear or at least noz to be provocative. We managed to get friendly with some of them and I would like to keep it that way.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Colonial_Republic
Ah, somehow I respect these guys. They know what it´s like to take a punch, and they certainly can pack one themselfes. I´d opt to make them friends, but it seems they don´t want or need us.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Council
While some say they are just a band of snobistic revolutionaries I must say I have some sympathies with them. They did a good job fighting against the gallic royals against all odds and are still a major power over there. Rumors say they are close to the Colonials and other interesting factions over in the Tau´s, and so they are interesting trade partners for us. They are no friends of the Outcasts and hate the Orange smuggle, so we have some good card´s we could play here. And they could open us the gates to Gallia. Be polite, be friendly... and ceep straight around them.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=116829
A bunch of rich Kids with a love for action and a taste for vengance. Oh, they call it justice, do they ? Ok, vengance with style, or at least action with a purpose.
But they do have a knack for fighting, and they are deadly serious about their work. It´s probably not the easiest group to have around the Haven, and it´s better not safe to let them see if you take the shortcut to Hamburg. But somehow I like the joung hotshots round Seraph, and they fit in here well.
Makes sense that Fynn let them in, even if im not sure the rest of LPI will like it.
BMF info
and BMM
Ah... Fynn likes the Miners from BMF, and I understand why. That McRae Lord is a good man, too. But I cannot understand BMM. Loyalty ? Sure, they get all there checks from royals, so they kiss their... whatever.
As I said, I don´t understand Bretonians.
Info
Funny group of Kusari traders.First time I heared about them they where using Freelance papers, then they joines Samura but managed to confince the board at Tinker´s to stay friendly... then they argued with Samura and quit again. As far as I know they might be using Freelance papers again. Or join GMG or Kishiro ?
But they are traders, and we experienced nothing bad from them so far. Give them a chance. But don´t give them too much beer, they start singing kusari tunes if drunk ! Dreadful.
Kishiro ID
Well... they are the natural enemies of Samura and the Hogosha, so they are not our enemies. And Fynn somehow managed to convince them that we might be friends. Just imagine... a Junker and a Kusari wedding of sorts. But so far I have no complaints, even if I guess we don´t see much of them over here in Texas.
They might be seldome seen guests... but they are guests. treat them well and learn how they talk and stuff. Makes sense using an opportunity to learn how to talk dragoneese after all, you never know when it could save your life.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Orbital_Spa_and_Cruise_ID
These independent luxury traders and passenger liners are a show to see !
I really dont know how Fynn managed to get us friendly with them, I would have expected them to sneer at us dirty Junkers, but there you go ?!
We actually have a trading and support contract with them, and they stop by to use the Havens services and even pick up some refugees ... if we have combed them, washed them and pay for their passage *laughs*. Fine with us, and they do make good traveling companions
Aid them any time they need something, they are good folks to be friendly with.
Unofficial friends ? Ah, you mean secrets ? We have none *smiles*
Liberty Rogues ID
Quite a group of troublemakers. Liberty rouges and the folk from Padua.
What do you get if you cross a mad ship designer with an inspired pilot, pack a load of military style weapons on top and glue it together with Cardamine ?
Yep, lots of fun and probaby even more scrap. Fine with us.
Well, they don´t bother the Haven and mostely don´t bother our skippers, so if one of them is crazed - stay clear.
And if one is in need and you can help him off the radar : do it. We are in Liberty, so don´t cross the rogues. Simple as that.
Lane Hackers ID
Those are a ... creepy lot. You know, the original Lane Hackers where actually Ageira engineers ? They are a cunning and resourcefull group, and it´s better to ceep on their good side than to be their target. You´d never know what would hit you next if they tag you as assasination target. But they hunt the big three, not us. So stay polite, pass on a tip or donation if they ask for it, and always be at least neutral. Or get a doctorate in advanced spatial engineering and communication tech and join them. Not much in between.
Fynn somehow has reached an agreement with them, ask him.
Officials ? Hail Liberty, home of the brave and home of the free ? Joungster , there are some braves here, but they ain´t free.
Nah, I´m half joking. Fine people here, at times. And lots of opportunities to get rich. Lots of opportunities to get killed, too.
Liberty Navy ID
Dude, no easy Question.
Believe me, I´m the last one to tell you that you should love the Navy, and there is blood in the scrap because of them.
Plenty of blood.
Still you have to realize that there is a war raging out there. And I mean war... not some minor scale conflict , squabbeling between fighters and bombers. I mean full scale war, with battleships on both sides and all that stuff. They happen to be the military here, ok ? No sense in fighting against the military unless you bring along the big toys yourself. Give them their due and ceap clear.
Liberty Police ID
You realize that the Inc. stands for Incorporated, eh ?
It´s a great big money machine, dude. Ceep clear of it´s system , cause it´s your fault in getting caught. And they earn money with grinding you to dust if you do. But take pity on the officers flying their duty out there. They get payd less and have more work than we do, here. Some are corrupt, but it takes a calling to do their job without getting corrupted. And some somhow manage to keep straight. Keep an eye on those, and help them if you can.
Never bust in on a buddy, though.
Cop´s ´n Robbers is no game we play here at the Haven. You would be forced to pick your side, something we try to evade.
Liberty Security Force ID
*looks blankly for a moment, then sighs*
A while ago I would have spit out and probably got myself in a lot of trouble.
Fact is, you sometimes need folk who do the dirty work even we Junkers would hesitate to touch.
And LSF are the LibGov´s wetworkers. Probably you have to be a maniac for the job, I don´t know.
Ceep clear if you can, and never trust the lot.
<<<will take in more suggestions and update from time to time>>>
Ah now... neutral partys and factions.
Quite a lot of those, so I´ll limit myself to the officials here , plus those we frequently meet in our travels.
If you want to know about any others, just ask.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Kingdom_of_Bretonia
Ah... I thinkl I already mentioned I don´t understand the Bretons, did I ?
Near to Inverness, and in a deadlock with the Gauls, they think better of us Junkers than most, but still... so many traditions, rules and such. Best police force around, and not very corrupt. Their army is better than you would think, too, even if they get kicked in the face by the gallic royals. Must be some sort of competition, no idea.
And I nearly never see their espionage experts around, and that always makes me suspicious.
Ah, I dunno... *looks into his glass and fetches another bottle of wine*
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Rheinland
Ah, our neiborhood. Believe it or not, I like the Rheinlanders. Stiff as a steel rod and easily angered, but loyal if you manage to befriend them. Ok, be careful nothing gets into their head... except a pint or to of beer perhaps. We are carefull not to bring the wrath of the Teutons on our base, so be polite. Mind their Police, and repatriate any pilots rescued from space. So far it works and they ignore us.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Kusari
Honor and pride, and lots of... money. It´s all about wealth here, even if everybody would deny it, and probably kill you for the comment. Ah, Kusari traditions... hating Junkers seems to be one of them, but still they have the prettiest little ladies you can imagine.
Oh, and beware their music. More deadly that their ships.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Gas_Miners_Guild
Ah, those folk know how to trade, and how to plan a fight. Not bad at fighting , too. But they are the strategists round Sirius. The big houses would probably exterminate them if they would not need them for their gas. Well... neutral as we can be. Funny thing actually, because we have much in common. But even more differences. Oh, and don´t be decieved by them being oh-so-lawful.
Professionals, they are.
Corsair Brotherhood
The `sairs. Harsh space they live in, and a proud and dangerous folk. But they understand what it´s like to eek out existance. And they pay well for both our Scrap and any food or pharma supplies we run out there beyond Rheinland. Don´t get caught while transversing Rheinland though. And keep an eye open for Hessians. Oh... we have an official allowance to trade there from the Brotherhood Elders and they know we don´t take Artefacts. It´s contraband everywhere in inner core and the Hessians get itchy , too. Just not worth it, even if there´s much money to be made. By the way, money... `sairs are rich, and need our scrap. So don´t feel to bad if you miss the Jewelry, take cash and fly back with Copper, or Deuterium or other stuff. Still worth it. Be carefull always to take some tidbit´s for bribing. Consumer goods, Pharma, Synth gel or food stuff sell well out there.
On the negative side : They trade with Hogosha also, so be careful.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Red_Hessians_ID
Actually quite a topic. Revolutionaries against Rheinland, and no friends of the `sairs. But no enemies of us. Not the usual Pirates, and they seem to appreciate that we trade no Artefacts. But on the other hand... we trade food and scrap to the ´sairs. Ceep calm around them, we might find friends here while hopping the holes to Rheinland, or we might find enemies there. Up to us, I suppose.
Enemies... huh ?
We are Junkers, or we use Freelance papers. So we have a lot of people only to willing to either kill us outright or at least pirate us, or punish us vor not living the way they want us to live. And so on...Well, nobody said life is easy.
So stay proud, stand upright... and keep your eyes open for them.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Xenos_ID
Xenos, scum of Liberty. I don´t care how good the reasons where they started fighting. And I don´t care how serious their cause is to them. Murderers, cutthroats and fanatics, the lot of them.
Too mouch blood in the scrap here, way to much. We ain´t the Marauders or any other paramilitary group...
but if you end the day and there is a Xeno less, nobody will ask questions.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Hogosha_ID
Even if many of us will start spitting at the name of the Hog´s, I can actually understand them quite well. They are our evil twins if you may, the Kusari dirtmongers doing the wetwork for Samura. They earn money with any means available and are quite serious about being the Kusari *civilian helpers*.
Well... no use in any discussion here. Don´t fuzz with them, don´t take humilitation or any deal from them, and if you have a chance to get rid of them : do it. Ah... ok, we are white collar now. Well : so are they , over there. So be careful.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Kingdom_of_Gallia
Ah... all hail the King ! And lots of Zappers to his bum.
Gallic Aristrocracy hasn´t even the nerves to openly admit they are greedy bastards looking for the goodies with their neibours. And as we are not *part of the Kingdom* , we are hostile.
Suits us, and we support Bretonnian resistance, too. Shoot the lot, or run.
Give a tip to BAF| or BIS| though, if you see the Valours grouping.
http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Outcasts_ID
Ah, the `casts... very special case.
They payed most for our Scrap since a few months ago so we can not really ignore them.
We do not really love them, and as we do not trade any Cardamine we are only partly under their protection when trading to Malta. Be careful, bribe if you must and can... and watch your back.
Since we got friendly with IMG and Council it is only a matter of time till we get problems with them.
These are just a few exemples, and you can always decide to take other routes.
Often it´s neccesary to evade a system, or even a whole sector, because enemies are looking for you or because of some other reason not to fly to a certain system or base. So it´s useful to know alternatives. Remember : just because we can fly everywhere does not mean that we are welcome everywhere.
Easily our most used route. Take some Scrap from the Haven and fly to New Tokyo, Yokohama shipjard. From there you have several options :
-New Tokio Planet : sells Sake cheap , can be sold everywhere in Kusari and some other houses for a profit.
Also sells Samarium for a middle price : sells well in Pensylvania or in Minnesota. If you care to take the rout , pick up some drill bits at Harrisburgh, take them to Philadelphia and return to the Haven with Reinforced Alloys. Good job, next round.
Also : taking Sake to Tshushima Depot in Kyushu gives you good acces to PlasFoam Conduits and some other stuff, and taking it further along to the Tau´s gives you acces to cheap Beryllium.
- Shuri Base : GMG private base in Okinawa lokated about 15klich east of Fujisawa refinery . Sells H3 for a fair price and it sells very well in New York. If you go... take either Sake to Honshu for Saitama or Hydrocarbons from Planet NT to the mining facility Fujisava.
- Honshu , Planet Honshu : cheapest optronics. A possibility if your aiming at flying to Bretonia. Tau licence is activer, so we are free to take the route.
- Okinava , Planet Miura : Plutonium. Do NOT carry it through Kusari, that will easily get you fined. Sells well in both Bretonia and Liberty.
Be careful carrying it to Bretonia though... Tau trade and medical license do not cover Plutonium in Bretonia itself. That would be a military commotity.
Well , we do not exactly *trade* refugees, but it can be worth it.
You can take either foodstuffs or MedStasis bands and Pharmaceuticals from the Haven ( or cheaper sellpoints ) to Leeds, land at the resistance sattelite at the backside of the Planet and start again with your Freighter full of anxious fugitives.
Sometimes you have to house out the cargo space thoroughly afterwards, but well... remember you vcan not land at Leeds with anything larger than a freighter, that gallic ships will probably fire at you and that you are transporting no cattle but human beings. So get them to the hospital.
We can relocate them later.
Serious buisness. Council need our help, and they pay well for it.
Take scrap, it currently sells for 11.000 creds there, or take Nanocapacitors, they sell well, too. Be careful wich route you take, there are several possibilities, and best ask an experienced skipper to show you the ropes there.
You can enter Gallia over the gap at Orkney to Languedoc or through the mine field from Lorraine to Omikron 80. Or you slip past the Kusari patrols in Rishiri and enter to Lorraine there. Be careful not to get noticed by Kusari, be careful not to get caught by the Gauls, and strap in your stuff to be ready for a rough ride if you encounter a gallic Gunboat. They are equipped with disruptors so dodge and weave till you get away.
Or scrap them if you can.
Back you can take Samarium at Macon base in Burgundy. Or HPA for our building projects. Or take Promethium from Planet Marne, as you prefer. Also a possibility is to fly Promethenum or Promethuim doown into the Taus, and then pick up Niob from Fort Siloso and IMG| ... and so on. A fun run, dangerous and long, but rewarding.
Trade deals and private bases with acces through T&T/ TAG
Tinker & Transport currently has following trade licences and / or deals :
Bretonia : Tau trade & medical licence
Helps a lot around Bretonia, and I can understand why Mr. Tukker did not apply for licence with military goods or alien stuff .
We are careful about our reputation, after all.
Liberty : we are currently trying to get a licence for certain restricted commodities. Without any luck so far, so stay careful.
By the way : remember that passengers and refugees do not fall under the Embargo rules. Section four , part III
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=118442
Fine base our friends built there. Not much you can bring them if they don´t currently need something from Kusari or tell you they want RA. But if their miners are around they sell raw Hydrocarbond, and those are sought after at Pittsburg in New York. Sell some Gin at Birmingham if your coming in from New London.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=116198
Junker Congres´s defense station at the Texas <> Puerto jump hole. Not only a good place to trade with fellow Junkers, also a major smuggling and scrap trading post. If the Havens dock is full you can always mine scrap for La Fort.
The defense base to Rico´s backdoor is a interesting spot to land. Expecially if you are running to Leeds. But as we have a *no go* order on Black Market Munitions... Well, it´s good to know that we are welcome there.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=111762
Im not sure about that base. Who owns it , who runs it ? But they are friendly enough. Never seen some tradeables there, jet. Well, sometimes it´s good to know a neutral port in the middle of a cloud , and not to ask questions.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread...+trade+hub
(( Status unclear : base destroyed ? ))
Kishiro is a natural friend , for a Kusari corporation. A pity they seldome have enough Helium for a serenity´s load. But still : It´s a fine Base , and they have some fine engineers there. Always an option.
discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=109827
Nice spot to trade. Take PremScrap or Hydrocarbons to Fujisawa and hop over through the clouds to the mining platform. Helium 3 is the stuff you get here, and it sells extremly well in Liberty. GMG knows what it´s doing.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=120980
[ALG] built this base in Frankfurt, near Planet Holstein.
While we seldome trade scrap there as they haul their own stuff from Munic it´s a good spot to stop if you come from Kusari. And they have fine Engineers there.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=119022
Synth Foods built this base in Stuttgardt to supply their Rheinland market.
But as we are close and sometimes pass that way - of course only from Kusari to Bretonia *cough* Docking acces has been granted to the T&T transponder, and we will see how this trade post will work out.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=118039
Junker Marauders built their base here after their installation somewhere out in Humboldt or Kansas got destroyed. They have acces with us, we have acces with them. Never seen much scrap there, though. I suppose they ceep a close tie on their vendor. But sometimes it pays out very nicely to support or supply them.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=121670
A fine Station, located near the scruffy farms at Baffin.
Be careful to evade the *no-fire-zone* around the farms if you are not totaly friendly with Zoners.
The Shrine itself is a good spot to stop and trade, with a wide variety for goods from allover Sirius and a taste for our Scrap.
As long as they pay better than Yoko bring them what they want. I´d even bring them stuff for same price just to evade the Samura Hogfish. And they have a nice bowling and recreation site, too. Take a few pineals back, they bring luck and sell well.
http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=79980
A fine trading base in Omega 3, one of OMG|s crown jewels. Sells Ores for a fair price, mainly cobalt. And if you get contact with a group of miners or a convoy aid them if you can. IMG are professionals and well eorth banding up with.
A well spaced base, fallback point for miners, fortress against Outcasts and a fine spot to buy Niob Ore. Ask a senior skipper to show you the way, keep the IMG|s confidence in letting us trade there and beware of Outcasts and the Gauls. Remembere : we are friends of the IMG| but they have to accept some territorial claims from the Gallid Royalists, so dont mess things up by fleeing to Siloso from a Gaul, ok ? That would ruin a lot for us.
FAQ : Any Questions you would like to ask Olsen : pls sent per PM to Fynn, he will pass them along. Q: Why is there no registration code with Tinkers , like all others have ?
A:Because Tinker&Transport is a very diverse group of individualists. Sure we need people willing and able to take orders in a pinch, but mostely we need people intelligent enough not to get into trouble. Why should we recruit ?
Those who like our style tend to come to us and there is no *typical* Tinker skipper, neither as a Freelancer nor as a Scrapper.
So why should there be a *typical way in* ?
Some are born here , with all the nurses and joung fellows about there is bound to bee joung ones soon.
Some get to know us through our open trade policy, or as patients of the MedEvac Ambulences or refugees from all over Sirius.
Try fitting a triangular toy in a round hole... or accept there is no hole and let them find their own way, eh ? Q : Who are the Board of Trustees ?
A : I know only three of them by name , and as far as I know they are about two dozen members, even if most of them are only shareholders in the trust. Mr. Tukker is member, even if he serves as their secretary.
Fynn is Member, and also the Foreman at the Haven. And Mr. Walker is member, since shortly after he set up office for the [SRO] here, first at the Haven itself and then down at planetside.
The rest are middle class buisnessmen, philantrophs and other mostely Houston civilians.
You know that big all-over-Sirius Restaurant lead by the old Zoner with Kusari roots near the planetside offices ?
I suspect he´s a member too, but he always only smiles and offers me some delicacy. They earn a share of the Havens profit,
and Tukker also sees to it that they get opportunities to invest in other projects, or have some philanthrophic reason to donate to the T&T/Bank. And they have a say in diplomacy with other factions or corporatons as far as I know, but not in our daily life.
Q:Why don´t we build other high end products like cloaks or jump drives ? Only docking modules.
A:Because we are no high tech factory station, except for the Haven Clinic.
Also we need the space for cargo storage, and for recycling and sorting our scrap.
And remember : Even if we have a lot of support for a group as small as ours, we are small fish in a very big pond.
Do you want a fleet of Rheinland ships knocking at the dock to confiscate jump drives ?
Want our taxes to be reevaluated because we produce war effort machinery ?
Hey... a Tinker or Tinkerer is a peddler in scrap and repaired machinery according to old folk language, and that is exactly what we are. No high tech engineers.
Q: And why do we not build defensive weapon platforms ?
A:Because we have no strategic jump hole to guard or something like that.We are a neutral trading platform in the middle of a populated sector, and we already had to set docking to restricted acces so as not to anger libertonian military.
Do you want the next load of Rheinland ships offended by a small calibre gun platform shooting at them because somebody fired an unlucky shot ? We have strong passive defenses, and if they do not lay siege the Haven will survive.
Also we have the escort wings under Colonel Tudor, and lots of Liberty Forces around.
And the occasional Pirate in a bomber is a threat to ships only, not to the Haven.
If you want to use platforms to secure a space station, you need several of them, about 6 at least ( 2 times each, anti snub, anti Gunboat and anti Cap ), I´d rather have more cargo space then. But I think Fynn might change his mind and build o couple of anti- snub platforms one day to help defend the docking area against Snubs.
Fynn walks through the Cantina with a grim face, clearly angry at something. He looks around, dirigating some crew mechanics and soon they start clearing a space in the entry area, opposite to the great steel mural showing the construction workers and engraved with the names of lost crewmates and ships.
Soon a new big ComNet screen and a small terminal have been installed here.
Turning to the watching crews and guests, he hesitates and then speaks with a clear loud voice so all can hear him.
There have been further attacks on Tinker´s trade fleet. Both in Kepler and in Colorado. Captain Bailey just returned from the Hospital with one of his crewmen, one has been lost in decompression and one died before reaching the Memorial Clinic.
He points over to the big steel mural :
Two more names on the wall, even if we will salvage the Tinkers.Pride and repair it soon.

Also there have been complaints about us flying with criminals. Please : be careful who you travel with.
But also : Never break trust, and be true to our ideals.
Turning around again, he gestures too the big screen and the screen Desktop is displayed :

Your Word is your breath. You stand tall and fall with it.
Cherish it. It is precious. It is ... your reputation.
Allowed is what pleases , without harming yourselve or others.
Turning around again Fynn nods curtly :If any questions arise, I am at my office.
