That should still be regulated by the rules, if it counts as PvP death or not.
Automated systems would obviously be exceptionally good at judging situations on the server and interpreting text messages ("Was there sufficient roleplay for this blue message?") to ensure that it would only ever 'ban' players who died under all the right conditions.
Oh wait. This sort of automated banning system would, at most, check the system (Conn, for example) the player died in, and ignore any and all other factors when considering whether or not someone is considered PvP dead.
Not the best of ideas. Plus, I'd rather if we had an FLHooker (that sounds awkward) they'd spend their time on more pressing issues.
By rules i basically mean like it is currently. if there was sufficient rp for an engagement the player should do a report.
there's a couple of players who actually think before being blown up,i.e: where to respawn so you don't have to wait 2 hours or breaks the 'immersion' (at least we can acknowledge there's still one,barely..) of others
EX:You die in colorado, you respawn in galileo, you die there then you take the jumphole to kepler(maybe you go through that rouge guard system and so on..)
Who will script these will have to spend a lot of time rather than doing more important things And there's a good question, Who....?????????????? Here's a situation i was thinking: you undock from a base and there's a battle going on,you get killed and then you no longer can play for the next 2 hours?
What to do in that case?Make more accounts?Sure if its a snub that will be cheap @100mils(or more if we think were more speacial than others and have codes,clocks,scanners,etc..)or if its a bs that will cost atleast 1bil
People want to believe that God has a plan for them.
They don't wanna believe that anyone else does..
Well...was just an idea...as i am not that satisfied with the current "I don't care that my char will potentially die" RP that indicates our space is filled with pinkponys.

I think it is fine as it is.

- You simply leave the system the fastest way.
Not with the proposed change!

If you idea is supposedly meant to help new players, I think you might have missed a relatively large issue.
How are new players whose first death on the server going to react when they are kicked out of the server with a ban message? They will of course attempt to reconnect and will see the "You are banned" message displayed. What will this new player think?
I know that if I was in that situation, I would probably not bother coming back. I would think it was ridiculous to be banned for a simple death in a space arcade shooter and not waste my time.
We need fewer restrictions on play, not more. With all this talk about how the server is shrinking, stopping people from playing in any way that is not necessary is 100% counterproductive and not in the interests of the health of Discovery.
+1
I agree with the goal of the topic. If death becomes a serious issue players will care more about not dying. This will end up them grabbing RP-tools before going into pew and result a richer andd more realistic environment.
Not caring about a death and going on regardless is just dull.

I currently have some more ideas, but at first lets discussed a bit.
what do you think?
I think people would get pissed at this really fast and play another game instead.
The only way to improve RP immersion is by making people learn RP faster. There are a lot of ways of doing that, from mod developments to furthering certain social practices. However the community leaders, apart from a few special cases, have stubbornly refused to implement these throughout the years.
