Look how simple it was back in the day:
Not that I don't appreciate some of the "discovery" aspect of exploring Sirius...but I have to admit that is one sexy, SIMPLIFIED map. I do like it. Maybe just tack on 2 Gallic systems to Tau-29 there and it's complete.

What this base does not do is block RP between Pirates and Transports. If anything, it creates a steady stream of transports to be stopped instead of an occasional Miner.

Saltese was never a Jump Hole blocking station.
Honestly, this seems like an inadequate attempt to punish us for a recent encounter with HF ships. Take away an ore field from a station that was built and rp'd around said ore field, making the station useless. Give it to HF without any sort of rp behind it, other than a recent encounter. It would seem that there is some sort of an anti Junker Congress movement here. Lets review.
1. Saltese created. Lots of RP involved.
2. Saltese successful. RP continues.
3. Ore Field disabled. Station becomes useless, but we continued RP with it anyway. This is not done to other ore fields, but somehow ours is depleted.
4. Ore Field turned back on at a much lower rate and sell point is moved to locations we cannot go. RP promoted further as other factions are now required to move the ore.
5. Ore Field is completely removed and placed in a different system governed by a faction that now wishes to ignore past rp and kill Junkers.

Interesting. I have been robbed dozens of times in the Humboldt silver ore field, even right at the doorstep of Saltese, so it is possible to carry out. I do not see an issue here.

Hi there, I don't own Saltese, but I have an understanding with those that do.
Know how I know you both haven't been to Humboldt in over 4 months? Because the station has been open dock for that period of time. So are you both really in a position to complain about how the station "blocks" activity, when clearly you haven't ever been? (by the way we are selling Copper Ore, come buy some)
If it were up to me, i'd start more or less over - take the vanilla map, fix what's broken, give purpose to the single-use systems from the SP campaign (and easter egg ones too.
Yes, even at the price of retconning things that "happened" over the mod's lore.
Seriously, I think its fine to toss out years of Roleplay/Gameplay by having a developer move Ore fields away from a faction he openly speaks of disliking, into the home system of the faction he is the leader of, and has turned hostile to said faction..
No bias there! I'm sure it was done with the best of gameplay intentions! This happens to factions all the time!
*slowest sarcastic applause possible*
At least other changes are made with the semblance of legitimacy in mind, and offer new viability to gameplay rather than simply removing it.
On a reasonable note: This change has little to offer to the quality of the server unless there's some closeted RP involving a new diplomacy between Hellfires and a mining faction, or if Xenos are gaining a new mining bonus for Silver.

Hmm.. Saltese moved into Vespucci? i'd be willing to bet credits that the first siege would happen within lets ssy, a week at the latest. HF fleet pounding down junker doors in HF home. certainly would make it easy on them XD
I see a number of people talking about wanting to go back to vanilla or start over again from there.
Guys.
You are playing the Discovery mod, not the base game. You can play vanilla if you want, go ahead. But Discovery shouldn't be more like vanilla, because then it wouldn't be the Discovery mod. The things that this mod adds is everything Discovery is. Going as far as retconning a huge amount of things to go back to something that already exists or has barely any resemblance to current Discovery is not what should be done with this mod. You can play vanilla, you can play other mods and you can play Discovery. The concept of Discovery is being a very extensive modification with many new systems, ships and features. It is not a "slightly improved vanilla" mod. Those are probably out there too though if you like them and that's fine.
