Ammo trading didn't need to be touched. Caps feeding snubs is ultra gay but outright stopping ships of the same class from bot-passing to each is not a great idea :/
Also being able to tractor bots/bats from destroyed enemy ships in missions is essential to survival.
I like this change.
can we still have a special ship that is a support ship like a medic/engineer class?
They would have no guns or weak guns and can only trade those things?
Don't get me wrong, but doesn't this make carriers, well, just battleships? Carriers by definition should be able to resupply smaller vessels in the field, can they still do that?

Plus the transfer of bats and bots between transports in a convoy is absolutely essential to surviving combat situations. Without that capability they can all be picked off one by one even more easily.

Please, God - if you're suggesting that it's healthy for gameplay that carriers could or should be able to pump snubs full of bots, bats and ammo, then I'm going to have to call you out as being flat out wrong.
Also, y'know - by definition, a carrier technically just, uh, carries things.

How is this a bad thing, exactly? I think it's excellent that large convoys are no longer completely invincible from pirate attack - trying to assault any collection of transports that was large enough was akin to soloing a battleship with 40 turrets that could split itself up into ten separate pieces.
God forbid transports be like, you know, transports |:
Furthermore - from a snub player's perspective, I really like this change. Snub-to-snub feeding was about the only 'acceptable' form of bot-passing anyway, and even that just prolonged fights to the point of annoyance.
This approach might be a bit ham-fisted, but I think that on the whole it makes things better.

Wait wait, this is brilliant. Traders previously complained that they were vulnerable cash cows for individual pirates and were invariably told, "get escorts, fly in convoys, stop crying."
Now, flying in a convoy for security isn't "acting like a transport. :|" Because God forbid people should have an advantage over individual players through merit of teamwork and cooperative gameplay. Good argument.

So you are saying that a carrier does nothing more than carries things? pretty sure thats not the job of a carrier, or any carrier vessel in any universe that exists. carriers are supposed to be able to re-fit, re-arm and repair any ship with the capability to dock inside of it.
Carriers are not barges for fighter craft.

because you assume the worst case scenario is the only scenario that exists, which screws over everybody that isnt jack henderson and his infinate number of transports in convoys.
but even so, why is that being punished because somebody can actually get that many people TO cooperate in game, why is that not a celebrated occurance? you want to catch a big fish you need a bigger fishing rod, or more people to spread a wider net.
actually punishing group activity when the amount of players is already as low as it is, i mean seriously?
I really hope repair ships can get the repair gun mechanic from team fortress for example. That would add to the realism of utilizing said ships, not to mention being ultra cool if the devs can pull it off.
