I've not encountered you guys personally yet - give it time, Bowex will drop a convoy on yours heads sooner or later - but I've been seeing you on the player list frequently. Honestly, regularly seeing 1 or 2 Alliance players online has been absolutely fantastic. In the past, messing around with the AFA in my Clydesdale has been great fun, so I can only hope you'll match that.

I also agree with the way you're conducting your diplomacy. This is a pragmatic solution to an issue a lot of new groups face - the new leader fires off 10 or so diplomatic threads over the first few week, contacting everyone and thing that can be contacted. Of course, they've then got nothing to do over the subsequent months because they've already said everything that needs to be said by default. Staggering this out a bit can only be beneficial.

Honestly, if you're adopting the guise of an entire NPC faction instead of a specific and notably different sub-sect of it, it's probably proper to assume NPC diplomacy is already in place, and not have to sign alliances with factions who're already listed as alliances on your infocards. Doing so would be preferable, yes, but shouldn't be essential. I also find it very telling that a fair chunk of criticism is coming from old/current AFA players who're perhaps feeling a little bit threatened by the new contenders?

I don't know why the AFA players are an object in this discussion, so I really don't know where this is coming from, but oh well. I guess this is just another provocation from you. Nothing really new.

To make it very clear. Noone in the AFA feels threatened because there is no intention to revive the AFA anytime soon. Or ever. We did try it almost 2 years ago. It failed. Not that this is anything of your concern. So please. Don't try to throw mud at poeple with a fine understanding how Kusari and especially the FA works, just because they are concerned about a few things regarding that new FA.

Want to add this one: We are happy to have the new FA around and seeing them doing a good portion of Forum RP (to the Hogosha and Samura for example) is a good sign.I think they are on a good way. Nothing more to add for now.

As for the AFA, I'd assumed they were alive in some capacity seeing as I saw the recruitment thread twitching on the 'new posts' screen recently. Either way, the impression I'm getting as an external spectator is that of the "old guard" nitpicking small details of an otherwise bland but fine group. If that's entirely benign, then I apologise unreservedly and retract my previous statement, naturally. That's not intended to offend, but if you take it that way, fair enough.

Yes. I take it that way, because I have a problem with peeps mistaken nitpicking and valid arguments/good advices and than throwing assumptions around when they cleary have no clue about the intention of said arguments/advices. Though, i think it's a fine line there. But yeah, you are for sure long enough around here to know that.

Also, it's true. The AFA is around here. For forum work addressed to them and the AFA got a new member. Nothing more nothing less. I know him from another faction and he was asking about the FA. I told him about us. He wanted to fly a Farmer from time to time. He is around in our Skype Channel for two months now. Just the Application was made one or two weeks ago. I accepted him like anyone else with a decent application. And all this was a way before i even heard about the new FA. But as mentioned earlier. No intention so far to rivive the AFA.

So i think this discussion is over. If not, i am more than happy to answer any other question fom you about my intention or the AFA in general via pm's, because this is not an AFA Feedback thread.

Since there were people asking about it, we did do that diplomacy part. Besdies, forum RP is a leaves a larger mark than just in game encounters, and for start that's preferable.

The issue we're facing now is the lack of new players, we haven't had a single recruit yet and we hope for that to change. By the way, you can go to our recruitment thread by clicking the fish below.

I am a former former type of player. To be clear, I am not feeling threatened. I don't have time to play, and honestly, I feel a bit like a relic of an old time that doesnt really exist here anymore. That being said, please don't take my criticism as anything other than wanting any FA faction to be the best it can be. I love the FA as a faction, I personally think it is the role that I enjoyed most during my FL time. I want the best for the faction, and having been through the run, I have some idea of what to look for. Having been responsible for most of the disco FA faction lore and story I feel I have a responsibility to anyone who wants to make something with the FA to give them whatever advice and support that I can. So please understand my criticism has the goal of making the faction you are trying to get up and running as good as it can be, as good as the npc faction is.

On the question of activity. It's hard, the FA is a niche faction. It takes a certain type of player to love it. You are never going to have a huge number of people in the faction. I think the most players we ever really had was about 8. The key is to get people who enjoy this kind of propaganda rp/piracy. It is going to start with a tight core of player, maybe 3 or 4, and as people have interaction with you, they will be curious about the role play and maybe they will join up. Some will like it, some wont. Don't judge yourself on the number of players you have right now, judge yourself on the quality of play and dedication of the players you do have. When others see you having fun playing together, they will want to join in. With a faction like the FA, it's the long game you are looking at. It's going to take time to build up. Have faith, if you do things well, if you really enjoy playing the role, things will go your way.

So, after a long (about 40 minute on the bus) consideration, I've decided to let Alliance go. That's mostly because the lack of interest in the faction and the fact that over the period of over a month I was the only person actually logging. Seems to me that the general public is not very interested in the faction and they aren't too willing to join up.

If anyone would like to take over, let me know within a week on PM or skype, if not, well, it was a fun ride.
