Synth Foods, Incorporated is a privately-owned corporation conducting its operations throughout all of Sirius. Primarily tasked with the production of foodstuffs, they are also responsible for shipping their products throughout the many inhabited worlds.
Synth Foods, Incorporated is well known for their revolutionary BioDome™ technology. These facilities have been installed on hundreds of stations throughout the sector. Synth Foods’ paste and gel products, available in numerous flavors, are unparalleled in cost effectiveness, product quality, and costumer satisfaction.
Synth Foods, Incorporated is headquartered on Planet Manhattan, New York, however it has branched itself out since its foundation, no longer recognizing itself as a purely Libertonian corporation. Synth Foods also recently bought Riverside Station in the orbit of Mohave, California, from Liberty Police, Incorporated. In addition to that, this company also owns much of Planet Stuttgart and a portion of the Bounty Hunters Guild's Deshima Station in Shikoku.
Synth Foods, Incorporated proudly feeds the mouths of Sirius, and works with government welfare programs to nourish the less fortunate. Their CFO reports that fifty percent of all profits are donated to charities across the four houses. Synth Foods is also in a partnership with Planetform, Incorporated to develop newer worlds for the people of Sirius.
Objectives
» Achieve market supremacy in Kusari
» Eliminate, either directly or indirectly, resistance groups - including the Landwirtrechtbewgung and the Farmers' Alliance
» Continue control of Rheinland and Libertonian food markets; attempt to penetrate Bretonian food trade
» Covertly gain financial benefits from needy groups such as the Corsairs and Golden Chrysanthemums
Areas of Operation
Synth Foods, Incorporated operates in a variety of systems, however they exert the most control over their headquarter systems - their regional outposts of Riverside Station and Planet Stuttgart in the systems of California and Stuttgart, respectively, are where a near-totality of all production and distribution is handled. Regular convoys leave these systems to supply food to the four Houses, with a particular competitive interest in Kusari as of late. They also maintain a particular interest in conducting off-the-books corporate warfare against Samura convoys leaving to Rheinland through the Sigmas and Taus, whilst supplying the GMG and IMG respectively. Synth Foods transports can be found in almost every known system, with the sole exceptions of the deep Omicrons, lower Omegas, and of course, the Kingdom of Gallia, where they are blacklisted.
Department Stratification
The corporate-bureaucratic structure of any large business is a rather complex ordeal, yet it must be to ensure the proper distribution of roles and responsibilities. Synth Foods is quite the standard in this regard; however, many of the sub-departments can be distilled down to three main conglomerates:
Mercantile and Commerce Division
The Mercantile and Commerce Division, or MNCD, is the largest and most active meta-division of Synth Foods' growing corporate conglomerate. Responsible for the totality of logistics, including shipping, delivery, distribution, and production, as well as the maintenance of a large, highly specialized transport fleet, they are the breadwinners of Synth Foods' ever-expanding operations. They also include the HemiSphere Laboratories sub-division, responsible for the design and construction of Synth Foods' proprietary BioDome products to installations across Sirius, and are also responsible for training their crews in use of said technology. Finally, many of the company's accountant staff, legal team, human resources, and agricultural oversight are grouped under this division, although they are awarded far more autonomy than first gleaned.
Corporate Direct Enforcement Division
Corporate Direct Enforcement Division, or C-DED, is responsible primarily for the security and defense of Synth Foods' installations and production facilities, both from common criminals and farmer movement revolutionaries, as well as the space-borne defense of the MNCD's many convoys and shipping distribution platforms. The C-DED primarily hires out of work bounty hunters and retired police and military pilots, while also incorporating part of Stuttgart's home defense militia in the protection and monitoring of Synth Foods' large food production centers on the planet. It is rumored that a highly secretive section of the C-DED is tasked with conducting corporate espionage, hiring pirates to hound Samura and Hogosha transports, and devise ways of damaging the local market economies of Kusari and Bretonia.
Board of Executives
The Board of Executives is the group of management officials responsible for the totality of executive decisions made by the company at large. Their salaries are large, their responsibilities larger - but their Chief Executive Officer, Gregory Dawson, is determined to bring the ailing company into a new era of expansion and development.
Management Positions
Mercantile and Commerce Division
► Sharecropper
Sharecroppers are the bulk of the MNCD - the nickname for transport captains, using loaned vessels, mainly bulk haulers, to transport Synth Foods products in return for a paltry salary - they're the lifeblood of the entire operation, and those who dedicate themselves might find a letter from the Executives in their neural-net inbox before too long.
► Freighter Captain
Freighter Captains are the veterans of the MNCD - running convoys, analyzing logistics, and organizing the bulk of the MNCD in order to complete the Executive's objectives and priorities. The cream of the crop, they're a highly important asset to the Synth Foods conglomerate.
Corporate Direct Enforcement Division
► Security Officer
The vast majority of the C-DED's manpower comes from their Security Officers, in both their land and space-borne variants. Usually ex-police or navy, these officers are incredibly efficient at their job - after the disasters directly before the Nomad War, the C-DED ensures that no Synth Foods transport will ever come under fire and not live to tell the tale.
► Corporate Affairs Officer
It is largely unknown what the exact purpose the Corporate Affairs Officers serve. They are few in number, and their officially stated purpose is "to conduct internal affairs investigations and ensure the sanctity of Synth Foods' operations remains intact." Regardless of their objective, they are seemingly selected from the top echelons of the Security teams, or sometimes recruited from intelligence organizations and paramilitaries.
Board of Executives
► Chief of Operations
Following the redistribution of power after Gregory Dawson's rise to the Chief Executive Officer position, the Board of Executives was simplified, along with the divisions as a whole, to streamline operations whilst preserving effectiveness and responsibility distribution. With that in mind, the responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer and Recruitment Chief fall upon the Chief of Operations, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the Synth Foods conglomerate. The man or woman working in this position is, effectively, the second-in-command of Synth Foods operations. The interim Chief of Operations is Jay Stevens, the former CEO of Synth Foods, although it is rumoured that the new CEO, Gregory Dawson, is searching for a replacement.
► Chief Executive Officer
Power and executive decision within the Synth Foods Board has been congregated under Gregory Dawson's re-distribution, and this has been seen in no greater effect than the position of Chief Executive Officer. He holds the final say on all executive decisions that the company makes, although he regularly consults with his Chief of Operations and the shareholders. The current Chief Executive Officer is Gregory Dawson.
Corporate Diplomacy
The Synth Foods conglomerate maintains a tight relationship with Libertonian corporations, as well as maintaining a limited contract with Planetform, Incorporated. Synth Foods also maintains good relations with the House lawfuls of Liberty and Bretonia, while also maintaining supply contracts with the Gas Miners Guild, the Bounty Hunters Guild, Orbital Spa & Cruise, Cryer Pharmaceuticals, the Independent Miners Guild, and ALG Waste Disposal.
Synth Foods maintains amicable relations with the lawful forces of Kusari and Rheinland, as well as the Corsairs, Kusari Exiles, and the Junker Marauders. There are rumors that they have internal plans to financially support the Gallic Council, although this is unverified.
The C-DED released a public statement verifying that the vessels of the Mollys, the Hellfire Legion, the Bundschuh Party, Samura Industries, Hogosha, and general Junkers are to keep distance from any and all Synth Foods vessels and installations, and that any vessels of the Xenos, Outcasts, Liberty Rogues, Lane Hackers, Red Hessians, and any and all lawful forces of the Kingdom of Gallia will be fired upon if they stray within the path of a Synth Foods convoy. Additionally, the groups known as the Farmers' Alliance, the Landwirtrechtbewgung, the Gaian movement, and Non-human entities are permanently blacklisted and will be shot on sight where House laws allow.
Available Vessels
Synth Foods, Inc. operates a variety of vessels and equipment, depending on the location and specific necessities of its use. Primarily, Synth Foods, Inc. utilizes the CTE civilian line of weaponry, fighters, bombers, freighters, and transports, as they are by and large the most common and least complex transports and security craft, and thus the most abundant in the Synth Foods operation. However, the California and Stuttgart operations, respectively, are known to utilize their local transports and civilian weaponry (where applicable), including the hardy Class C5 "Bison" Transport for the Libertonian divisions and the stalwart 568-ARKG-B6 "Behemoth" - the latter of which is allowed via special permit to travel within Liberty, one of the few permits to be held by a corporation. In addition, Synth Foods is pursuing a contract with AP Manufacturing to utilize their vessels and weaponry, especially for their in-house C-DED.
The Synth Foods, Inc. C-DED also maintains a light stock of GMG vessels, namely five T-493-HF "Karasu" Heavy Fighters, three T-493-B "Kaichou" Bombers, and two T-382-T "Kamome" Transports. Synth Foods is currently considering contracts with other organizations to bolster both the fleets of the MNCD and the C-DED, although no such moves have been made as of this document's publishing, c.
