Honestly I find this 'hostile' rephack for all zoners is quite excessive. Considering the nature of the incidents and the relations between zoners groups (not united) it does not make sense that all zoners become hostile to the Order because a few zoners were involved in these incidents. Remember when Corsairs assaulted ZTC, the other zoners groups were not affected (or just in the beginning. But maybe it was a mistake to not rephack the whole community?).
I think the current tensions between zoners and the Order should be roleplayed on a character basis. Each zoner group leader should decide independently how to adapt the diplomacy of his group with the Order. Each zoner indie should also decide if they want to take position in this conflict or to remain neutral. Considering the fact that zoners are not united, I find it makes no RP sense that leaders of official factions or admins decide that zoners indies must become hostile to the Order.
When I play my zoner characters (which are my main ones) I usually spend my time in the omicrons. Considering friendly interactions with my favourite faction won't be possible anymore and that I am not interested to move to Tau systems (to ignore this rephack) or rebuild my characters with Order ID, I seriously consider to stop playing these characters.
GMG and Order have always gotten along fine throughout most of the much younger Order's history. It's been basically assumed that the Zoners were bringing GMG fuel to the Order. OSI, old memories, SigCorps (Chris) and I both were S/D members (which is now BHG|) and moved on to form factions of our own back in 2008. This was one of those supply lines that fell into his faction's intended RP. Funny enough he never considered it to be a Zoner faction but needed to use the Zoner ID's ZoI to accomplish his RP and always hoped for their own ID. In the end I suppose they got melded into the Zoners. Anyways I'm sidetracking. As head of GMG I've done diplomatic RP with each Order admiral since the Black Squadron leader stepped down and BS became Order|. They've come to meet me in our space and I've gone to meet them. GMG was even invited along by the Order to help them explore further into Omicron Iota thanks to our nebulae sensor technology. We've been allowed to heep copies of the data surveyed and have updated all their sensor tech.
I used to comment how I kept seeing new Order leaders until Golanski ended up finally being a long time leader and we've talked many times together about moving forward with relations. One of the most obvious pieces of evidence Disco has made since it's infancy that provides us with a precedent that GMG and Order have worked together is BD's Kagutsuchi. A ship designed by Order engineers, built by BD and paid for by GMG. You can bet as GMG space continues to expand outside of the clouds that it'll be looking for Order engineers itself in the future. If Zoners and Order have reached levels of hostility that has broken the supply line of fuel, it's a guarantee that GMG will begin investing in measures to overcome this obstacle. No different then if two houses go to war with each other, GMG won't care about their hostilities, GMG will still sell to their customers. An 'alliance' between GMG and Zoners wouldn't have any impact on GMG's decision. Not sure where the 'alliance' ever came from before anyways. Like the cap ships it was just suddenly there, I suppose the one time GMG mighta showed alliance was the Sair Zoner war thing but this can be attributed more to GMG's unhealthy grudge against Sairs and seeing an opportune moment to get in, kill, and get out during all the chaos. Omicroners is the only Zoner group as well as Med Force One that ever stepped up and defied the Kusari Emporer's blockades on GMG. The other's turned tail and even one of them chose to supply Samura with military vehicles and soldier weapons at Kurile. The best I can say of relations between GMG with Zoners is that 'it depends on which Zoner' and thus ultimately neutral. GMG won't care that Zoners are killing Order and will still sell to Zoners and it won't care that Order is killing Zoners and will still sell to Order.
GMG is allied to $$$. An organization or house who truly understands and appreciates this can control GMG reactions with impunity without GMG realizing. At this moment they will see an opportunity born from the Order/Zoner split, realize Order's needs, and profit from it in more ways then one. Investing into an infrastructure out into their space would be worth strengthening relations and milking engineers/tech from the Order and ultimately securing another important stepping stone in GMG's intended growth.
I think this may be the longest coherent post in the thread, even beating some of the rants.
As this thread as shown "Ask ten different people and get fifteen different answers"
I really want to see how some of the non Zorder factions step in and mix things up

I agree. But then again if Order withing itself starts choosing sides that might split The Order. That's even worse.
But it IS logical decision to give others freedom of choice.
After all - we're out there all alone, and considering that The Order usually operates in the corner of No and Where, where we need at least one ally in the war against the Nomads, this decision seems plausible.
How can the Order now survive with almost everyone hostile? Decision to go to war with Zoners is strategically flawed in RP, at least in the long run.

I'm pretty sure the rephack would be reversed if the Order apologised to the Zoners for their actions or did some grovelling. But you know, that's never going to happen so, y'know.
