Faction Description
The Gas Miners Guild (GMG) is a tight-knit professional organization that acts as the primary supplier of H-Fuel to four major houses.
Guild archives trace its origins back to Planet Honshu several centuries ago, when the the planet's fishing industry failed. The collapse of its primary source of subsistence lead to the vast majority of the population turning its attentions upwards, in search of a better life. Most of those that left moved to Planet Kyushu, attracted by the highly successful agricultural industry it possessed, but a smaller group of hardy pioneers had other ideas. The nearby Crow Nebula held riches beyond anything their meager existence on Honshu could have provided, in the form of highly sought-after natural gases that could be refined into valuable spaceship fuel. These men and women were the beginnings of today's Guild.
In current times, GMG has firmly established its presence in the Sigma systems and mining operations can be observed here collecting its lifeblood, Helium-3, while its transports are a common sight throughout most of Sirius as it peddles its products. Although the organisation has enjoyed a mostly successful existence since its inception, its days have not been without strife. The infamous 80-Years War saw open conflict with the Kruger-backed Imperial Rheinland Military, and more recent clashes with the Corsairs and Outcasts as well as friction with Kruger, Samura and their assorted lackies, means a highly trained and effective paramilitary is maintained to ensure GMG interests remain secure.
History
Planet Honshu
56 A.S. Planet Honshu is settled by Kusari, their first colony established since Planet New Tokyo 51 years prior. Most of the planet's surface area is ocean; with little landmass to develop, the settlers carve out a living through fishing. Few of the species brought on the colony ship take to the new environment, and the main supply of fish comes from one species, the Redfin.
250 A.S. The Redfin is fished to complete extinction, and the fishing industry on the planet collapses. With the already poor supply of fish almost exhausted, many inhabitants decide to seek their fortunes elsewhere. A mass exodus occurs over the next 10 years, with approximately 80% of the population leaving, mostly to Planet Kyushu. A number of bold adventurers instead head to the Crow Nebula, to harvest the fuel gases there.
282 A.S Following more than two decades of extreme individual success, the major corporate players in Kusari take notice of these mining operations and begin to make their move with intent to take control of the business and force out their small competitors. The existing miners refuse to be pushed around and band together to protect their livelihood. The Gas Miners Guild is born.
284 A.S. Aomori Station is constructed in the Honshu system, within a local outcropping of the Crow Nebula known as the Chuyu Cloud. Initially devoted to the purposes of equipment and ship repair as well as a storage facility for the resources painstakingly collected without the assistance of trade lanes or jump gates, the base evolves over the next few centuries to act as The Guild's administrative nexus.
Aomori Station
298 A.S. The Kusari government officially recognises Sigma-13 as GMG territory.
330 A.S. The Guild signs a contract of exclusivity with Samura Industries, making the latter the sole shippers of the fruits of Sigma-13. To oversee this relationship, a contingent of Samura bigwigs and middle management is invited to take up residence on Aomori. The ensuing period of mutual prosperity forces Kishiro to look elsewhere for alternate sources of revenue.
350 A.S. Samura establishes Osaka Storage Facility in Honshu, which is taken advantage of with great efficiency. Profit margins for both Samura and GMG explode and each enjoys a golden age of co-operation and heightened income for 200 years.
503 A.S. Contact is made with the Corsairs. A deal is cut and The Guild becomes a player in the lucrative artifact trade, transporting them on behalf of the Cretans to Kusari. This relationship is a brief one, as the Hogosha decide to muscle in and manage to replace GMG, who promptly respond by declaring the Hogosha enemies and artifacts banned in their space, angering their former partners the Corsairs. Opinion of Samura also drops for their failure to intervene and allowing these events to unfold. Prospecting for fresh gas fields takes place in the aftermath of this setback.
550 A.S. Gas fields are located in Sigma-19. The search for a jump gate manufacturer begins. Lingering resentment towards Samura's previous disrespect, coupled with their current attempts to amend their H-Fuel agreement in order to increase their profit at the expense of their partners, leads to Kishiro being chosen to finance a jump gate to the system in exchange for a chunk of previously exclusive distribution rights.
Gas Miner Naha
561 A.S. The Omicron Beta jump hole is discovered in the Donryu Cloud of Sigma-19. Planet Elysium is charted within the Omicron Beta Edge Nebula and attracts interest due to the substantial amount of alien organisms it is home to, which are highly effective in the terraforming of planets. This unwitting trespassing initiates a bloody dispute with the Outcasts, who attack all prospecting operations in Omicron Beta and spill into the Sigmas, mercilessly attacking Guild ships on sight.
570 A.S. Imperial Rheinland turns its attentions towards GMG. A surge in industrial capacity has left the house in command of the largest fleet in Sirius, causing fuel costs to reach astronomical proportions due to imports being the sole source of fuel. Tension builds.
589 A.S. Under the encouragement of Kruger, the Rheinland Military enters Sigma-13 with the goal of forcibly claiming gas fields for Kruger mining operations, starting the Eighty Years War. The first major human conflict in the Sirius Sector sees Gas Miner Naha almost immediately captured by a lightning-fast application of extreme Imperial force. This is considered by the defenders to be a calculated loss and is incorporated into their long-term strategy, who take advantage of Kusari's neutrality to base their attacks from Aomori and engage in guerilla warfare.
614 A.S. Richtofen Station is destroyed. Amidst the ongoing warfare within the nebula, with GMG strikes taking advantage of their freedom of movement due to Rheinland's extended lines, Kruger's main mining facility in Sigma-13 is assaulted. Defences are stretched too thinly to sufficiently protect all of Kruger's interests, and the installation is reduced to a wreck of twisted metal.
Gas Miner Ogashawa
620 A.S. Planet Kurile is charted in Sigma-17 and is notable for its specialised alien organisms that can thrive in toxic waters.
650 A.S. The Sigma-19 jump gate is completed and the Gas Miner Ogashawa is moved to the system's safety as fighting continues.
660 A.S. Rheinland forces have taken substantial losses and are low on fuel. The Guild collects the majority of its ragtag fleet and directs pinpoint pressure on the wide Imperial hide. The target is Gas Miner Naha, and a boarding party successfully retakes the station after over 70 years of occupation. The remnant of the Rheinland defence retreats to the Yanagi Nebula, where it is soon joined by the rest of its forces in the system as they regroup and await reinforcements.
668 A.S. The Imperial forces still in the system have taken position in the Yanagi Nebula and been bolstered by the final military reserves brought in from home space. In the final battle of the war, The Guild meets the invaders in direct combat within the cloud and, using their knowledge of the terrain, achieve a complete rout. Brought to its knees economically, politically and militarily, as well as fearing a further push on an exposed Frankfurt, Rheinland accepts defeat and sues for peace. The 80-Years War ends, though Kruger and other Rheinland ships remain highly unwelcome in GMG space.
676 A.S. Following the signing of a contract with The Guild, facilitated by Interspace Commerce's mediation, Helgoland Station is constructed by ALG. It is placed next to the Yanagi Nebula and acts as the base for ALG cleanup operations in Sigma-13, making them the only Rheinland presence tolerated in Sigma-13.
Helgoland Station
(Mid-cleanup)
721 A.S. Relations with Samura reach an all-time low. Samura's pursual of repayments to war loans, on top of their relentless pressure to further lower the H-Fuel prices leads to GMG covertly financing Blood Dragon movements in the Hokkaido system and even going as far as to lend training in an attempt to disrupt Samura's own gas mining operations there. This support leads to great successes against the corporation.
760 A.S. Lead by the Kinai Maru, a group of explorers discover the Okinawa system. No time is wasted in establishing a colony on the frigid Planet Miura, with construction on Fujisawa Mining Facility and Isehara Refinery also starting with a great deal of funding coming from Interspace Commerce in return for 5% of Isehara's fuel profits and the privilege of buying from it and Miura at cost. The system is claimed and Kusari does not contest.
762 A.S. Work on Fujisawa concludes. The base is used much in the same way Aomori was in its youth, with the vast pastures of the lucrative Mintaka Hydrogen Field being harvested and transferred to the station. A sizeable paramilitary contingent is maintained on board.
763 A.S. Isehara is completed with the purpose of the storage of equipment and supplies sent down to the planet and the plutonium sent up, though its role later changes.
780 A.S. Terraforming is initiated on Planet Miura with the goal of raising the ambient temperature on the planet by a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius.
800 A.S. Great carnage unfolds in the Sirius Sector as a result of The Nomad War. GMG is forced to bunker down extensively for the duration of the war, in particular to avoid provoking the massive Rheinland fleet movements through Sigma-13 that, this time, could simply not be stopped with force.
801 A.S. As the Nomad War concludes, the contract with Samura is intentionally allowed to expire. An arrangement is instead made with Kishiro, who can provide superior, cost-cutting gas miners and are subsequently awarded an exclusive contract, reminiscent of the one signed with Samura centuries ago in 330. Samura staff stationed on Aomori immediately vacate and the corporation essentially considers itself an enemy of The Guild, although direct physical confrontation is highly irregular with the former instead preferring to use The Hogosha and Farmers Alliance as proxies, with the latter directly harassing their rivals only when they tresspass in the Sigma systems.
818 A.S. The Yanagi cleanup is completed. Helgoland Station is transferred to GMG control and ALG vacates Sigma-13. Planet Miura receives a docking ring and Isehara Refinery switches to overseeing the terraforming effort and refining the plutonium it receives.
Current Operations
Sigma-13's binary stars within the Crow Nebula
Sigma-13 was the first system to be exploited by the fledgling gas miners before the creation of The Guild. It was a stable source of valuable gases for many centuries and its stellar meadows have been the source of great conflict in the past. Gas Miner Naha dutifully provides extensive storage facilities and acts as the primary base of operations in the system. Helgoland Station, transferred from ALG once the Yanagi cleanup ended, has since been converted into a small shipyard to drum up a small shipbuilding business for sale on the open markets and private use, as well as serving as a capable repair depot.
Mobile gas miners can be seen throughout the nebula, toiling away, harvesting in the field. The Guild has personal conflicts with both the Corsairs and Outcasts, and with the system being a major highway between Kusari and Rheinland, the pirate presence is high. GMG patrols attempt to keep this menace under control, but cannot be in all places at all times.
Mining operations have been slowly winding down in recent years as natural resources begin to run out. Alternate sources of fuel in different systems, however, ensure the GMG's prosperity for the centuries to come.
Despite extensive cleanup efforts, a small number of wrecks from the 80-Years War still litter the system.
Planet Hiran against a picturesque backdrop in Sigma-19
Famous for its tourism industry, Sigma-19 contains a smaller but fresher and more dense exploitable gas field within the Hiryu Cloud, and harvesting operations are based from Gas Miner Ogashawa. Kishiro Technologies has a noteworthy presence on the main miner, much to Samura's chagrin. The Donryu cloud, an offshoot of the green Edge Nebula, contains an asteroid field, two uninhabitable planets, abundant alien organisms and a jumphole to Omicron Beta. The Outcasts use this jumphole to access GMG space and launch vicious attacks on all within. Periodic movements to harvest these organisms are attempted within the cloud, but are somewhat infrequent due to the dangers posed by the hostile marauders.
There is also a Corsair presence, as the nearby Luxury Liner Hawaii, a popular holiday destination, serves as a major dropoff point for the alien artifact trade. Artifacts are handed off to the Hogosha to fence in Kusari, and The Guild considers this a thorn in its side. However, Orbital Spa and Cruise is a strong H-Fuel customer and the Corsairs and Hogosha do not base attacks off the ship, so a precarious balance is struck in the system. If attacks on mining operations were to originate from the Hawaii, it is most likely the liner would be evicted, but also destroyed by the other side if it denied the Corsairs docking access. It is unknown if this delicate equilibrium will last.
Okinawa as seen from outside the Mintaka Hydrogen Field
The Okinawa system is the most recent to be claimed by The Guild. Despite lacking the standard naming convention, it is considered part of the Sigmas and recognised as sovereign space where GMG law is enforced. Of the three nebulae and sole asteroid field it is home to, the serene Mintaka Hydrogen Field is of huge importance due to its enormous supply of valuable gases. The field is highly prized by the system's occupiers and is guarded zealously to ensure its reserves cannot be plundered by unwelcome thieves, as all the while a significant collection effort labours day and night.
Hogosha and Farmers Alliance raiding parties are common as they intrude on the commercial activities in the system in order to impair the workings of the H-Fuel economy and hinder GMG as best they can. The resident paramilitary responds and clashes occur on an almost daily basis. The Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums also have a presence in Okinawa, but these two factions are more content to go about their own business and rarely show much interest in daily life.
Aside from gas mining, The Guild has an interest in harvesting alien organisms from the Omicron Beta and Sigma-17 systems. Excursions into Omicron Beta do occur, but are fraught with danger as the resident Outcasts do not approve of the pilfering of a system they lay claim to, and will not hesitate to take lives. Wrecked mining ships are not unfamiliar to the the nebula that encases the system. The main point of interest in Sigma-17 is Planet Kurile, which is currently under the control of rivals Samura Industries and inaccessible to GMG. The Guild is exploring its options.
Guild Directives
1. A monopoly on the fuel market must be maintained. Claimed GMG fields must be protected from those who would steal its property, namely Samura and Kruger. It is vital that Samura operations in the Hokkaido system are disrupted as much as possible, which is to be achieved through a covert partnership with the Dragons and GC.
2. Expansion into the alien organism market will be exercised. Being a world away from the treacherous Omicron Beta Edge Nebula marks Planet Kurile as a primary target.
3. The Kishiro-backed Republic of Kusari is much more receptive to The Guild than the previous Imperial administration. Influence within the Kusari government should be increased at all opportunities to ensure it cannot be swayed in the opposite direction. Cordial relationships should be established with individuals where available and close attention must be paid to the house's political processes.
4. It is essential that Cardamine smuggling operations in The Guild's primary zone of influence are disturbed, in order to cut down the economy of the hostile Outcasts. GC dependence on the drug should be quietly explored in a highly clandestine effort to subvert their addiction and subsequently their ties to the Maltese.
5. The alien artifact trade must also be targeted to do harm to the Corsairs and reduce Hogosha income.

INTRODUCTION
The Gas Miners Guild is the main supplier of H-Fuel to the four houses in Sirius. It is through our hard work and sacrifices that Sirius receives the clear and refined fuel that they use to power their ships and stations. It is through our independence that we can continue to supply everyone, no matter the political climate. Many try to take our hard earned assets away from us, falsely believing us weak, but we continue to defend our space against all intruders, fending off our enemies with our superior tactics in Nebula fighting. We will slip in, take down our target, and move out.
In the recent years, we have moved away from Sigma-13 and deeper into the other Sigma systems, looking for more deposits of H-Fuel to mine and sell off for profit. We clash with both Corsairs and Outcasts who try to expand their reign of plunder in our space. We maintain no warships nor standing armies, as our exceptionally trained and well equipped security staff is capable of taking down any threat by utilising their superior tactical skill to outsmart the enemy.
The GMG was originally formed by former Honshu agriculturists and fishermen forced to expand into the unclaimed Sigma systems by dire circumstances on their home planet. The lucrative gases in the nearby Crow Nebula allowed them to amass riches quickly, while their business sense drove them to create a guild that would assure their prevalence in the newly discovered star systems designated as the Sigma systems. But as the Guild expanded and grew, they encountered new threats. Pirates and terrorists throughout the border worlds saw GMG convoys and stations as opportune targets for many organized attacks and raids. With the appliance of resources into its security division, the GMG would open a new chapter in their history by leading the way in nebula warfare for centuries to come, and creating some of the best trained pilots in all of Sirius. These foundations allowed the Gas Miners Guild to become one of the largest and most profitable corporations in the sector.
The main administration of the GMG is located on Aomori Station, well protected both militarily and politically due to its location well inside Kusari space.
HISTORY Rise to Power
The Gas Mining Guild began its operations somewhere between the year 280 and 300 A.S. right after the massive Honshu food crisis of 250 A.S. caused by a failed Alien Organisms dispersion experiment. The crisis led to the bulk of the Honshu population losing their only source of revenue. Seeking new opportunities, the former fishermen started setting up new businesses, mainly gathering and selling hydrogen and helium isotopes from the abundant Crow Nebula to Kusari corporations. Without the modern miracle of jump gates, these journeys would take months before actually bringing in profit. Despite that shortcoming, it wasn't long until the corporate sharks of Kusari realised the gold mine that mining and refining fuel was, and the small Honshu businesses quickly felt the pressure of corporate prospectors encroaching on their mining fields. Rather than ignore this forming competition, the businesses had banded together to create the Gas Miners Guild.
By the start of the next century the GMG claim on the lucrative Sigma-13 system was put in stone by the Kusari government, and the Guild's own gas refining facilities. To enforce their claim even further, the Guild signed an exclusive sales contract with Samura Industries in 330 A.S., forcing Kishiro Technologies to pursue other markets and effectively removing the competition. The construction of the Osaka Storage Facility in 350 A.S. marked the beginning of a period of excessive income for both the GMG and Samura for the next 200 years.
New Enterprises
Despite their assured stranglehold on the lucrative H-Fuel trade, the Guild had never stagnated in any one place for long. Opportunities were aplenty in the rich but dangerous Border Worlds, and it wasn't long until the gas miners came in contact with Corsair raiders, spreading their alien trinkets and devices by the dozens. These would be called artifacts. The GMG would quickly become the middleman in the transport of these artifacts to Kusari. A short lived deal that would provide the Guild a grudge against the quasi-legal Hogosha, their Corsair partners and Samura itself - who would be blamed for lack of respect, due to the lacklustre intervention on their part.
In the end the GMG stuck to what it was able to do best: obtain H-Fuel. Survey parties were always being sent out across the nebula stretch, randomly combing it in search for more gas deposits. It would be until 550 A.S. before these searches would finally bring fruit. The Sigma-19 system, abundant in gas pockets, was branded as the next logical expansion point for the Guild. With the location now selected came the question of awarding the construction contract. While Samura pushed to renegotiate their H-Fuel contract to a lower price, the GMG decided to scout out the competition instead. After a steady period of negotiations, an agreement is signed in 550 A.S. contracting Kishiro Technologies to finance a Jump Gate to Sigma-19 in exchange for distribution rights. Construction would be completed almost a hundred years later, ending with the Gas Miner Ogashawa being stationed in the system, in the middle of the rich gas field.
Eighty Years War (589-668 A.S.)
Year 570 A.S. marked the escalation of tensions between Imperial Rheinland and its closest neighbours. Its factories had managed to create the biggest fleet in all of Sirius, fuelled by an enormous and resource hungry industrial machine. The ever increasing fuel demand of such a fleet put an extraordinary strain on the Rheinland economy, which having no fuel deposits of its own was forced to import almost all of its H-Fuel from Kusari. Suffering exceedingly large losses to its treasury, the Rheinland Emperor decided to put his great military to use.
Come 589 A.S. the Rheinland Military had dispatched the bulk of its fleet to cross the Frankfurt system into Sigma-13, and secure more gas fields for Kruger Minerals to exploit. This unprecedented event would mark the start of the first major conflict in Sirius, later known as the Eighty Years War.
Initially the invaders' progress was successful, with Imperial forces seizing much of the Sigma-13 system and pushing the GMG out of the Gas Miner Naha. Rather than opting for Kusari intervention, the Guild instead utilised Kusari's neutrality in the conflict to its advantage by basing its remaining forces out of Aomori Station in Honshu. Using its knowledge of the terrain and hidden jump holes all across the system, the Guild was able to send in substantial numbers of small strike craft to engage the Rheinlanders in guerilla warfare inside the nebula, slowly withering down the cumbersome Imperial fleet.
Several long years of conflict later the Rheinland Military had lost all of its initiative, with its forces stretched thin and its H-Fuel reserves catastrophically low due to GMG sabotage. In 660 A.S. the Rheinland navy was pushed away from Naha, when a daring boarding strike by the Guild took the station by force during a massed space assault. GMG forces slowly pushed the immobile Imperial fleets into the Yanagi nebula, until reaching the culmination of the war when the remainder of the Rheinland fleet jumped into Sigma-13 in 668 A.S. for the final shot at taking over the system. This engagement would be known as the Battle of the Yanagi Nebula, and would end with a decisive victory for the Gas Miners Guild, leaving a massive trail of wreckage floating in its wake.
With the destruction of the remaining Rheinland fleet, the long period of the Eighty Years War was finally over and the Imperial forces had retreated home to face their internal problems. Three years later, in the year 672 A.S. the Popular Revolution had began in Rheinland, forcing the Rheinlanders to finally lose their claim to the Sigma-13 system. The GMG was left to pick up the pieces and begin rebuilding in the region.
Post War Guild
In the first few years after the war, Sigma-13 was in pieces. Scavengers and pirates roamed the wrecks, looting all the valuables they could find, and the exhausted GMG would not have the numbers to stop them. Eager to get rid of the last remnants of the war from their system, the Guild entered negotiations with ALG Waste Disposal, brought to fruition by Interspace Commerce. The deal would change the terms of the Rheinland defeat, forbidding Military and Police units - as well as ships belonging to Kruger Minerals - from entering Sigma-13. Other Rheinland corporations would be allowed to pass, but not set up bases - with one exception: the ALG would be allowed to set up one base to help with the cleanup of the wreckage from the Yanagi field. Helgoland Station (as the base was christened) was set up at the edge of the scrap field bordering the trade lane to Naha, and would be the very symbol of the Rheinlanders' defeat for years to come.
The eighth century would also mark a period of increasingly difficult relations between the Guild and Samura Industries, who not only would stoically accept the Kusari government's war reparation tax put on the Guild after the defeat of the Rheinlanders, but would be trying to push down the H-Fuel price even further so as to finance their own gas mining project in Hokkaido. Convinced that Samura is abusing and exploiting their agreement, the GMG would finally agree to secretly finance Blood Dragon operations in Hokkaido, in order to stop the H-Fuel mining project there. To further aid the Dragons in their engagement, GMG veteran fighter pilots would pass on their experience in nebula engagements to the revolutionaries. This would allow Dragon fighters to turn circles around the Kusari Navy in both Hokkaido and Honshu, and conduct strikes with more precision and destructiveness than ever. Funding for the Dragon separatists would set the Samura project off schedule for years to come, and would make mining H-Fuel in Hokkaido far more expensive than the costs incurred by the GMG.
By the end of the Nomad War of 800 A.S. the Guild would begin their first negotiations with Kishiro Technologies regarding construction of new gas miners, as well as H-Fuel storage and distribution. Knowing full well that the contract with Samura would soon be over, the representatives of the Guild had no intention of prolonging it. The superior gas miners offered by Kishiro were to severely push down the cost of mining gases as well. By 801 A.S. the GMG agreement with Samura would be over, and an exclusive contract with Kishiro would now be in effect. The next years up to the present day would be extremely fruituous for the Guild. Reaping the profits of cheap H-Fuel and working with Kishiro to overhaul their equipment, the GMG is now free to rise again.
Sigma-59
GMG's hidden system. Discovered in 687 AS by the Kazuno-Maru, this remote system's primary purpose was to serve as the hidden home of one of GMG's greatest secrets: The Lost Children of Rheinland. In this system GMG's most honoured engineer had managed to bring three of GMG's worst enemy's battleships into full operation.
Later, in what would be the first encounter between GMG and the Outcasts, Battleship Namura had set out to explore the Omicrons further out from Sigma-59. Little did the Commander of the Namura know, they flew right into the home system of the Outcast's most deadly fleet: The 101st. Neither of the two groups had any knowledge of each other at the time, the GMG only knew that they lost their ship, but the Outcasts would get their opportunity to have revenge for the tresspassing of their prized system. GMG, not wanting to lose another of it's prized possessions had the remaining two stored in Sigma-59 and deppressurized. On began the work of making installations to secure 59 and keep the battleships safe.
Sakhalin Station was the first to be built in the remote Sigma 59 system. It was used as the base of operation to build GMG's largest and most heavily defended station: Niigata Station.
Such and undertaking was long in the making and very costly but worthwhile. In 816 AS Niigata was declared complete and became the home of the elusive Guild Masters of GMG. From Niigata Station the five GM's can oversee the entire direction of the guild under complete safety. Not ones to rest for long further development has been ordered to provide shipyard berths to Sakhalin and rumours speak of Namura's descendants, Namura Engineering, are having a research station built so they may continue to test their work at a safe distance.
Okinawa
In 812 AS, the GMG Explorer Kinai Maru surveyed a star system near Honshu and Sigma-19. The captain, Toru Watanabe, named the system "Okinawa," after the Prefecture of Japanese islands in the East China Sea on ancient Earth. The Kinai Maru deployed surveyal probes onto the two planets orbiting the sun and began scanning the gas fields in the periphery. The scientists were shocked to find that both planets had nearly breatheable atmopsheres. The closest to the sun, "Niiza" was found to be an arid world, suffering from scorching temperatures in the day, and frigid temperatures at night. "Miura" was found to be an arctic planet, with temperatures barely ever above the freezing point of water, even at the equator. Further analysis revealed that the surface was teeming with primitive life forms. After much deliberation in the GMG Administration and secretive talks with Kishiro Technologies, the decision was made to commence a full terraforming of Miura, scheduled for late 813 AS. In order to keep the development independent of the Kusari Government, the project was funded by Interspace Commerce. In return, Interspace would receive a 5% share of H-Fuel profits - and the right to build their own base in the system - Furyoku Station.
Teams of scientists surveyed Miura shortly after terraforming began. Geologists discovered abundant deposits of uranium and other metal underneath the surface in many regions. GMG and Kishiro immediately proposed a mining operation, even though terraforming was not yet completed. To reduce costs, the decision was made to use prisoners as a work force in the mines. A number of refineries were constructed on the surface, and shuttles began lifting regular shipments of Plutonium from the surface to the orbiting Kishiro station, Isehara Outpost.
In 814 AS, the GMG constructed Fujisawa Mining Facility and a number of Gas Miners in the Mintaka Hydrogen Field to provide terraforming gasses for Miura, and to meet the rising demand of HFuel in Sirius. The Mintaka proved to be GMG's greatest hydrogen find as it was the purest gas cloud they had found to date, coupled with efficient Kishiro technology, GMG is expecting a bright future ahead in it's H-fuel industry.
Sigma Trade Pact
In 817 AS, the Rheinland and Gas Miners Guild signed the Sigma Trade Pact, finally opening the border for trade and mutual security. More information here.

-Maru (ship suffix) ("ma ROO")
For ships that require a crew to operate, the captain has the option of adding the suffix -Maru to the name of their ship (i.e: GMG|Firstname.Lastname-Maru). Generally viewed as superstitious, there are several reasons why the word is attached to GMG ships:
-(The most common): That ships were thought of as floating castles, and the word referred to the defensive "circles" or maru that protected the castle.
-That the suffix -maru is often applied to words representing something that is beloved, and sailors applied this suffix to their ships.
-That the term maru is used in divination and represents perfection or completeness, or the ship as a small world of its own.
-A legend of [i]Hakudo Maru, a celestial being that came and taught humans how to build ships. It is said that the name maru is attached to a ship to secure celestial protection for it as it travels.
-It was intended to be used as a good hope naming convention that would allow the ship to leave port, travel the world, and return safely to home port: hence the complete circle arriving back to its origin unhurt.

Sirius Sector is large with many places unexplored, the following might just end up returning in fine shape and with plenty of stories.
That's just how it goes out here in the deep frontier space.

Well.
I always liked GMG| Faction. But unfortunatelly I'm not Kusari/Sigmas player and didn't had many encounters.
It's alos good to see you guys didn't give up like many of others.
I wish you the best of luck

Secondly Gunboats used by GMG - Kusari and GMG GB... They have 10% power core with GMG ID
Names - Gunboats uses GMG|GPS
And few lines below: Gunboats - GMG|Firstname.Lastname.
As I said, just c/p
Edit: Just a minor thingy, but I for example don't see Guild Master Taro Katsuo (Asbestos) in Retired Leaders section and I think he kinda deserves this one. I mean, he led GMG for years and deserves some honor right? Not to mention others like meoshi or me in exactly same section.

While i agree with Shinju about the copy/paste aspect, i hesitate to do so in case it appears that i also have an axe of sour grapes to grind

Actually the first thing I did when I become leader was remove the old character selection of MV ext, because it let people know what you're driving and there's a lot of metagamers out here no names required as we all know it happens.
Gunboats - GMG|Firstname.Lastname. This was NOT the old GMG lore...
Notice; - GMG|GPS-Karura.Maru (Shared GB)
Where GPS States, Guild Paramilitary Ship... We no longer have that. So this is not a C/P as you state.
Regarding c/p we told the admins we're staying the old GMG faction, this has not changed, nore has the write up we are the same old faction yes we have new leaders, but we also have same veteran and newer members who wish to push the guild better.
Regarding the old leadership, if you'd kindly write down the names of their RP characters I'll happily put them there, but no honor will be granted on the fact that when I walked in the room, GMG was dead, and it would still have been if not for me and a few others in the GMG who earnt their stripes. I guess, what happens in the past. Stays in the past for a good reason?

Thanks Dim, we hope to have a good come back to the server, we already have a fair amount of Community Support. So we'll make it there.

- Kusari 'Ahoudari' Explorer
- IMG Gunboat
- Zoner Gunboat
- Kusari Gunboat Note: The Paramilitary will retain three and only three of these, and they will be put on shared accounts. Paramilitary prefix: GMG|GPS-
Addendum: Individual members can make Kusari Explorers, but their primary function should be exploration rather than combat. Ask a GM for permission.
I mean this is kinda weird, remove either GMG|GPS- from Gunboats or remove GMG|Firstname.Lastname line. It's kinda confusing.
Well and you know, names were in Guild Master section fo the roster before you just "removed" them. And sorry, but it's not my fault Asbestos has RL problems and had to leave. Oh btw, if you could read, I meantioned his name in my first post but I am nice and will do that again.

I don't mind you using old Faction Info... But at last you could fix some non-existant stuff, which I mentioned in my first post. Or are you going to use KNF and IMG Gunboats or deal with factions which are dead and non-existant?

Wow your attitude is appalling, I never said any of this was "your" fault, your advice has been taken we shall review said areas and review changes accordingly.
In recent time, GMG had an arrangement with Liberty (facilitated with DSE) to make some exceptions regarding Slaves for He-3. Will the new GMG continue this arrangement and cite it and/or other RP built by (cringe) "leaders unworthy of honor" as justification for officialdom, or will they be rolled back to a certain point?

It's sort of a slap in the face to have Doj memorialized without also including some old leaders. If the justification for the former is acknowledging past contributions, not later offenses, one would hope those who led the faction and held it together for a considerable length of time are given slightly better treatment and "honors". I know I can relate to being suddenly called away by real life and disappearing from the game for a while - I'm pretty sure you can relate too. However, I am glad to see hardworking, longtime players - many of whom are already current leaders and HC - listed in your current membership.
I've always found GMG to be a cool faction with an interesting place in the storyline and a unique style. With those elements, as well as a recent activity boost and being in collectively good hands, I have little doubt you guys will achieve officialdom. Nevertheless, best of luck!
i would of expected to see some RP and some substantial activity ingame after you lost your official status ,before you applied again
but...
what did you do instead?
throw some old text that you didn't even bothered to edit a few things here and there(that's not even yours, considering how old that is)and expect to get back from were you left of?
MY advice: Take a look at how much effort some of other factions put in this thread and consider what you need to do next..
People want to believe that God has a plan for them.
They don't wanna believe that anyone else does..
