Best way ive found to drain your bank account and have a bit of fun is to buy as many battleships as possible, preferably ones with a huge ZOI, and make them shared ships, hand them out to your friends and just go for a spin.

PREACH THESE WORDS.
No, seriously. Spending 90% of time on a generic, nameless trader, which I would be rather spending on roleplaying my characters, is something I would simply hate. Trading is already a very boring, interaction-less and simply dull chore to do - because I simply hate grinding for credits.
Not everyone enjoys flying from A to B in order to ressuply main characters.

You just described a large chunk of base suppliers there as well. I have only recently broken my POB addiction, I wonder how many others are almost fed up with the "need to supply/trade vs. actual character RP" headbutt that this poses.

wow no.
im sorry but it is nobodys fault but your own that your traders are shallow and have no substance. If you chose to make trading as boring as possible you have only yourself to blame for your displeasure.
It's extensively appealing to jump into that discussion but I've got to learn to say 'no', Anyway, whatever could be said on the matter was said already for 10000 times minimum.

Well, stating that "it's your fault that you have bad roleplay as a trader" in situation, when player is forced to have a trading character, doesn't help either. Not everyone finds it pleasant to play as a trader, especially if you are ought to do so.
I wouldn't be mad about it, if people actually wanted to hire Freelancers and pay them even that million for escort - or authority players would be paid a weekly wage.
