“Being a hero isn’t about letting others know you did the right thing, it’s about you knowing you did the right thing.” -Emma Harris

PRELUDE
What does it mean to be a hero? Is it someone who puts their life on the line to defend the weak? Is it someone who can distinguish good from evil? Or is it someone who bathes in fame and glory for garnering many accomplishments?
Whatever the definition may be, there is at least one universal precept among Bounty Hunters: it's the Hunter who's able to score big and look sexy doing it. The path to the top is a long one, and is often plagued with the many perils of the Sirius criminal underworld. However, there are certainly some notable Hunters in the BHG profession who have succeed in such endeavours. And have made a fortune off that as well as the appreciation of the people.
One such famous Hunter is the late Emma Harris. A legendary Bounty Hunter, she had accumulated a huge capital using her incredible skill as a pilot to wage a crusade on what she called "the social bigotry of our society". She was catapulted to fame when she killed five Mollys single handedly and captured one of their top leaders, Seamus O'Riordan. Harris amassed great personal wealth from hunting and retired at the age of 57. In her retirement, she tried to spread her noble message throughout the Guild, trying to curb the rampant unlawful behaviour within the Guild's majority ex-convict population. Unfortunately, she passed away in the year 801 A.S. But her passing merely encouraged others to take up her mantle and pick up where she left off.
Criminal violence and other heinous acts was climbing towards an all-time high in Sirian history. And the Guild no doubt was still infected with its criminal habits. And with the Houses too concerned for their political status rather than the safety of their own citizens. And so, in 823 A.S several of Emma Harris's followers gathered together. They would not stand idly by as the sector fell into unlawful ruin. Something had to be done. It was time for heroes to rise, pay checks to fatten and for new intergalactic Bounty Hunters to stand in the spotlight.
And thus, these individual Hunters created the Heroes Guild. A branch of the Guild that is built on the ideals and beliefs of Emma Harris. They are committed to sweeping Sirius clean of criminal scum and to gain fame and fortune in the process. Following one of Harris's teachings, they distance themselves from inter-House conflict including the one with Gallia as they believe it is not the place of a Hunter to dwell in House politics. The Heroes Guild also frequently involves itself in the transportation of criminals throughout the Houses. The Heroes Guild also places great emphasis on the undertaking of individual bounties, as assisting the plight of the unfortunate is deemed a hero's calling.
As they grow in size the Heroes Guild dreams to be a beacon of hope throughout Sirius, and the shrug off the dark reputation tainted onto the Guild as a whole.
SYNOPSIS
Hello. This faction concept is based around playing a different side of Bounty Hunters Guild RP. Interestingly however, old-BHG| applicants mostly followed the sort of RP format of this faction, so there is certainly potential for this concept.
In HG we encourage the growing of our members individual characters and personalities. We encourage our members to not only pursue individual bounties on top of blanket bounties, but to actually write an RP story leading up to the kill. The beauty in death lies not in death, but in the final moments of a dying target. Currently we are discussing whether to use RP alts or not. Generally we want to bring a good mix of RP and PvP to the table as a BHG faction.
And yes, Emma Harris references infocard number 056123. There are more/similar infocards out there and they will be added to this writeup as we progress.
We do plan to go for officialdom.
Also we're doing this thing where our members don't need to do any of the paperwork for Hunting. Our leader will post and claim kills on their behalf, and direct it to their bank account. Less paperwork, more fun!

You look sexy, like your write up suggests. You certainly look better than the BHG|. Your idea is quite nice, in my opinion, and what you plan to play like sounds intriguing.
I am sure you'll be a lot more successful than the BHG| was ever since a long while back.
I never thought that one day, i will see a good write-up that will make me want to join a Bounty Hunters group ... em nice one.
Good luck and enjoy the new recruits soon.

Thanks. We also plan to tap into older BHG| gameplay, as well as bring something new to the table.

Not a bad write up but there is a noticeable lack of depth, shrugging off the tainted reputation is a good start but there need to be more explanation as to why the reputation was gained and how it continues to hamper the Guild.
There needs to be a little darkness thrown in, not edgy stuff, more a over-zealous redemption theme perhaps? Maybe a preference for dead rather than dead or alive when it comes to bounties or even a high and mighty attitude towards House police?

History etc will be better defined in future. But isn't it obvious why that reputation was gained? BHG is notorious for adding ex-convicts into it's ranks. That's not an opinion, there's infocards and lore stating exactly that. In my past old experiences as a BHG character in old BHG| many times other House Lawfuls would immediately think my character is an ex-criminal, or perhaps even has criminal habits.

Emma Harris was also known for killing criminals so it's something we might follow. However if the bounty requires capturing criminals then we'll stick to it, as she also did.
I think we will allow our members to definie their 'own justice' and make it an integral part of their characters. Do they apprehend crminals and take them in to be judged by the law, or will they just simply be the judge, jury and exectuioner? Are they above the law, on the same level, or even beneath it?
That itself could create some very interesting social ripples and perhaps even generate a little bit of friction with our allies, as well as sourcing some controversial opinions.
Redemption is certainly a theme as the SHL encourages sinful Hunters or Hunters with past sins to step forward into the light.

The Heroes Association was definitely an inspiration.

Also we are discussing this internally to see if it'd be a good idea or not, but I'd like to ask for community input regarding this:
What would people think of a stylized naming scheme where our members have 'superhero' names? I.e SHL}-<Name>man/woman/boy/girl/kid or SHL}-Captain.<Name> or SHL}-Attribute/Elemnt etc. e.g SHL}-Mantaman. That'd certainly lay the groundwork for an interesting way to use RP alts at least. Also accepting other ideas for naming conventions.
Furthermore we are considering whether to aim for a name change or not. Current ideas are:
Sirian Heroes Guild
Sirian Hero Guild
Sirius Hero Guild
Sirius Heroes Guild
or even Sirius Guild of Heroes / SGH
We want the sort of name that could roll off the tongue and be stuck on a poster in your local freeport.
