Regarding the chimaera and clones, why can't we just up their size a bit? Kusari ships are all tiny, which tends to make them overpowering. Just upscale the fighters so that they're easier to hit. Even after the civil war update drops, I can see activity for Kusari being an issue simply because no one can hit each other, in both 1v1 and group fights.

That isn't what I meant at all. They are very fun to fly, but they are awful to shoot back at. And, like any other HF, the Chimaera and its variants have an extremely respectable power core regen (the only stat that matters - capacity is almost meaningless) of 1200.
Sand_Spider has it right, but he doesn't quite nail the problem on the head - good players can still hit each other. This is a problem that affects snub/fighter PvP as a whole (obviously), but the tiny size of Kusari HFs makes it much worse. Not only does pure fighter PvP in Kusari have a higher skill floor for effectiveness than any other house, but bombers are near-extinct due to the difficulty in defending oneself from Chimaera-and-clones attacking you. The Lynx, Guardian, Templar and Wraith are all relatively on the same level when it comes to landing a SNAC (or at least threatening to), but someone in a Kusari HF will never ever eat a SNAC if they keep their wits about them.
In short, this leads to the House's PvP activity revolving almost entirely around the same set of small, high-skill-floor snubs. Flying a Sabre or Raijin into Kusari groupfights is a death sentence if you meet a competent force of Chimaeras or similar in response, particularly if they are using Sunfrenzies/Daitos.

And this is how the Second Nomad War beginns
It never ended )))
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

I don't even. To not derail this thread and talk about balance I'll just say this:
Blaming the chimaera for lacking activity in Kusari is simply wrong. Claiming that flying VHFs in Kusari is impossible is wrong as well. Same with bombers.
This community simply has formed an opinion about Kusari that dates back to about 4.85/4.86 which gets perpetuated everytime a thread like this touches on the subject. You'll hear stuff like the ships being too small, the ships being too op, everybody just talks in japanese there, it's dead anyway so why would I bother with it, the place is too racist and so on and so on. The people saying this are the ones that haven't spent a significant amount of time in Kusari of course, at least in recent mod versions.
I don't know why people are not interested in Kusari, but I assume it is because Kusari was simply pushed aside after gallia invaded and forgotten. A civil war is all nice and well, but just with story development you won't get people to make ships there. It simply generates no hype, unlike something shiny and new like the omicron update. Additionally, Kusari is so devoid of any significant community drama that it doesn't even have a presence in any forum discussions and much less in people's minds.

You're forgetting that there's a new story team around, than what brought us 4.87, 4.86, 4.85, etc.. Wars and other sources of activity are all part of our plans, and Rheinland will have the opportunity to participate in an inter-house conflict again before too long. I'd try to put an exact time on it, but unfortunately updates take varying amounts of time to produce. And as for the existing Corsair front, there will be progress made there even sooner.
The thing about interhouse stuff is that it isnt as good as house-vs-house.
In house vs house you'd get ships grouping up on both sides for a massive brawl battle.
In inter-house it seems to be more spontaneous assaults.
plus, more factions are involved and more indies are involved in a house-house war.
We have organized storyline events to bring about as much activity for the region as fast as we can in a way that both makes the most sense in lore and works out better for Rheinland's future
I did indeed forget, though I think I'm still correct in saying Disco doesn't stray from the status quo too much if only that the various factions and ID's survive in one form or another. I am looking forward to seeing the new team's debut with the Kusari update.

We had enough of unilateral storyline decisions by storyline devs in the past which disregarded opinion of players completely and in some cases it even negatively harmed gameplay (blown jumpgates are fine example). You need to make sure you will not cause more harm than good and creating events artificially regardless of the impact on roleplay which was already created just to create activity may easily end with players discouraged from creating any long-term roleplay because their effort was torn apart by "I do not give a rat's ass about the tears it will create" DM.
A random jump-hole that opens for a week from O-41 to O-3/7?
The mine fields in T-23 got swept away by solar winds and the mining fields in Dublin are yielding 5x more?
Gallia civil unrest rises, forcing the front to lose one of their stationed battleships and possibly creating the avenue to recuperate Leeds?
News of how the Nomads are invading Liberty again, in a concerted effort to get a presence in Alaska?
Rheinland and Liberty markets crash down as the VWA manages to lock the only gate operating between them. The unlawfuls must maintain a base/thing to keep it closed and what not.
These are ideas out of my head generated in 2 minutes without really thinking them through.
Nevertheless, i mean random happenings that have no permanent effect in the storyline and what not.

It seems I misunderstood you then. The ideas above would be fine by me.
^ Agreed , fine idea to have some person responsible for quick events .
