I know 12 year olds who look up creepy-pastas on youtube that are more disturbing than that avatar.
Can't say about the story, since I never read it. I HAVE seen stories on here in the past that contained actual sex-scenes and somehow were 'ok' because they had a disclaimer and warning beforehand. So yeah, that was a thing at one time... didn't agree with it, but it was allowed. *shrug*
This just feels like a witch hunt. And honestly, after catching up on things I missed while being gone, I'm a little wary of the justice system around here.
But this? It's a vampire troll-face. Far from the worst the Internet has to offer.
No, I do not find your avatar disturbing at all. In fact, the first time I saw it, I literally lol'd. While some may find it "ugly" or not "aesthetically" pleasing, I feel the need to remind everyone that the game that we spend so much of our time on, is set in a dystopian future. It's not supposed to be all sunshine and lollipops around here.
Also, regarding the issue of the younger people who play Disco, in order for them to see this disturbing image in the first place, they first need to join the forums, and I honestly don't think that there are that many 12 year olds sitting around reading forum posts (I could be wrong, but I doubt it). In addition, I assure you that the average 12 year old has intentionally Google searched far more disturbing images than a drawing of a trollface vampire.
And besides, not all of us want to have big eyed anime girls as our "forum face".
It could also be that things are getting more and more strict with time (which isn't bad unless you plan to generally misbehave for your own amusement). I used to get away with way more questionable posts and acts in the past, but now I get moderated fairly quickly, sometimes even for silly things in my opinion. I'd say it's best to just shrug it off and carry on with your life. Complaining about it publicly will only add more fat to the fire (be it trolls or people who don't like you for whatever reason), it's just how the internet is.
As for losing your story, you could probably ask some staff member to send you a copy if they have not already. You're not the first one to suffer such fate, you probably won't be the last either.
Never saw an issue with any of your inrp stuff. War is gory, in my rp stories I try to be as realistic as possible when it comes to possible when it comes to combat rp.
Then again i might have you mixed up with someone else. But someone was rping hessian pilot's executions like ISIS executions which is imo wrong. I mean if it was for a more large inrp figure than mayyyyybe but still thats pushing the limit.
Yup. I once wanted the staff to publically post what rating they've in mind for the server and forums, but this was replied with stating that there's no rating and every content should be appropriate for children. No rating = G rating. Welcome to Discovery.
The game itself is rated T/PG-13, but the Discovery-mod obviously has higher standards in protecting those that shouldn't even have a copy and for that you're not allowed anything vaguely fun.
