Retoration that you're presenting is of an intact car hull.

Does it look like much other than scrap metal ready to hit the furnace?
Now imagine a space ship having it's fusion reactor explode.
Could I now perhaps go and wave around some RP like "oh when my faction's ship explode they turn into a molten blob of liquid metal in space?"
This is what I meant by it leading to silly arguments and drama with crappy powergame-ish responses.
Edit: Yes, anyone has the divine right to play disco any way they want, but don't step into others' boundaries.

You're trying very hard to make things impossible, don't you? You could do that. Vanilla Liberty ships however fall into pieces, not into blobs. However, you could, of course, act like I'm a blob-collector. Culebra Smelter will benefit from it. ;3
That's exactly what I mean by silly, crudest example I could find. But hey Omi's trying to break it down for you, so that you can understand it easier. Have a better look at it.

Sombra has gone out of his or her way to ignore both my posts so far, Arbi, or at least to not bother replying to anything I mentioned in them. I suspect he just doesn't give a toss about what I have to say, either because I've been pegged as a malicious troll intent on ruining others' fun or because there's too much difficulty in trying to argue against my points.
Not that it's really something I care about, but both your points base on "I lost my toys". To you, nothing that happens ingame is important anyways, so why bother if someone has a 75% Cougar/Enforcer, right?
It doesn't really sound like you've read my post at all. It's about maintaining roleplay integrity for both sides involved. You're asking official faction leaders to just accept that their stuff goes missing on a regular basis, without actually consulting them on if they particularly want to endorse or not this new facet of their lore.

No the idea is that, I, nor any of my faction members have to deal with any stupid ingame situations worse that those random dudes who buy a defiant with a FL ID and goes like "I bought it from Norfolk". Let alone giving anyone some made-up "legit" background to having some Outcast manta or a Blood Dragon lynx, or Rogues Flying guardians and defiants and canonise that through this kind of RP.
Because ultimately I'd have to deal with something which is least enjoyable, and with a crap ton of people that'd be throwing crap about it every three days or hours. Let alone the stupid who, what, how, that comes with it.
You do realize I can create a character, slap a rectuit ID on it. Buy ANY ship I want and than slap on it ANY ID that has at least 75% for the ship, and I don't need anyone to salvage it iRP? Sombra just provides the RP backrgound for peeps.
You don't understand what I'm getting at either. It's one thing to provide 'a roleplay background' that you pulled out of your arse in half an hour - it's quite another to put actual effort into engaging some sort of rapport to make the ship and/or technology involved fit both your vision of how it came out and not conflict with the common sense that these things don't just pop out of thin air. Your example highlights perfectly why I'd love to see the rule that you had to greenlight all tech with the official leaders beforehand returned, regardless of however many tears people think it would bring back. All the arguments against trying to approach tech 'owners' ooRP beforehand centre around the idea that every OFL is out to deny as many usages of 'their toys' as they can. You're painting them all as control freaks eager to stamp DENIED all over anything without even giving them a chance to speak otherwise.

I'd be okay with a recruit ID on it. It's not inRP so I can happily ignore it or report it.
And yes FL ID gets it at 75% too, and suddenly having a gunboat out of of the blue without solid RP backing? I cant really take it in consideration, and would be nothig but a minor nuisiance. But giving people a reason like -this- for bulk puchases of it? It's almost the same thing, just with a small comm that'll take a bit to write. It gets ridiculous.
If you really want that ship? Then, sure put effort and provide people with something decent that satisfies both sides of common sense. Starting from your character to how the whole thing goes down. I'm not out to get you for it, there's even a surpolus requisitioning centre thread too for people who want to fly these ships.
