INCOMING TRANSMISSION... Comm ID:Kyle Cross Encryption:Enabled Message Type:Voice only Location:Monte Carlo Freeport, Provence My view on the matter changed the moment you mentioned gunpoint diplomacy. Trust me, over the course of the last week I've run so many hypothetical scenarios in my head, and very few of them ended up with Kiara getting rescued. And it only happened when she was rescued before the whole revenge thing started. It also didn't help that you were so damn secretive and that all I was supposed to do was sitting on my rear while someone else was doing something.
Now, as to why I headed off... It never hurts to know what's going on in the systems where the guy who kidnapped Kiara might operate. You'd be surprised what you can hear in various bars around Gallia. As I said, I changed my name, ship, and appearance. For all they know, I'm just another Outcast, and I never brought up Kiara's name. Trust me, there are a few Outcasts there already, so I'm not anything that stands out in the crowd.
You may think all you want, but if anyone is risking Kiara's life right now, it's definitely not me. I'm not planning to let anyone else on knowing why I really am in Gallia, not until Kiara is out of the reach of whoever took her. You clearly know more than I do and than what you're letting on, something that could help me get close to Kiara without drawing suspicions. Yet your condescending attitude and self-assured confidence in your plan are what worry me.
Whatever. You can consider me just another criminal who's not to be trusted for all I care. I'll keep doing my thing with 'every' precaution not to endanger Kiara, even if it means that my trip was for nothing. In the meantime, try not to get her killed, or worse.
INCOMING TRANSMISSION... Comm ID:Kyle Cross Encryption:Enabled Message Type:Voice only, pre-recorded Location:Monte Carlo Freeport, Provence You're probably surprised to hear from me again. My attempt to push you into telling me more, and your condescending attitude made it even less likely. Yet here I am, recording this message, mainly because you had the courtesy of letting me know about Kiara. That, and I have nobody else to go to.
Time to get to the point. I found Kiara. She was safe and sound, sharing drinks with some Gaul on Monte Carlo Freeport in Provence. I was drunk, so for a moment I thought it was a mirage, but she looked 'and' sounded like Kiara. The thing is, she wasn't as simple of a person as you may've thought: she acted as if she had never met me, and even called herself with a different name, Aurora Moreau.
What's worse, she had apparently married that Gaul a year ago and never mentioned him to me. Naturally, her 'husband', a certain Remy Moreau, didn't know about her affair with a Sirian either. Kiara must be a really good con artist if she had managed meeting with two people at once.
I was a bit pushy when I was exposing Kiara's... or Aurora's lies to her husband, so he hit me with a bottle. Once I woke up, I found myself in the same bar. Kiara insisted on talking to me for some reason, so I thought she had something she wanted to tell me in private. That's the only reason why I agreed to Moreau's offer to meet up on his l'Ane to discuss this whole mess.
Here's the thing: the guy looks dangerous enough and has taken an instant dislike to me, so I'll bring some protection. I'll go to his transport in the hangar B-2 on Monte Carlo. But if I don't make it back, then I'm rigging my Sabre to send this message to you in 3 days. Call it "returning the favour" for what you did when you informed me about Kiara's disappearance. That, and I just wanted you to know that there was more to the story than you told me. Unless you had known it already.
You sure are nosy and condescending, but maybe it was for good reason when it came to Kiara. Kyle Cross out.
