Ye I just implied your logic and arguments why Kepler and Galileo should be added to OC ZoI on LR ID as an example.
I misunderstood this statement and drew the wrong conclusion. Till now the Rogue ID wasn't being looked at and so I did not read it, nor see any reason to do so.
So. From the discussions here there are a few conclusions that can be reached:
- To my knowledge no other ID mentioned here has a potentially non-contiguous ZOI to contend with.
- That with the current wording leads to some very awkward situations if pressed by the rules.
- OC caps outside of the Omicrons doesn't make a lot of sense and, since its agreed that corsair caps are equally as ridiculous far away from Gamma a line similar to the BHG Core capital restriction would benefit the server as a whole.
- With a restriction like this in place the ID should return to a balanced state and can now have more standard engagement and self defense rules, bringing them in line with current wording and preventing it from being used as a terrorist ID across 2/3rds of Sirius. This also means that it can have the ZOI as a whole restricted to a more reasonable level, since a lot of the systems on it are probably there to make the ID work with its current rules.
As a player request has already been submitted on this there's probably no need to continue the discussion any further.

Small reminder, some of the overlap for ZOIs, especially in the case of OC and LR is due to siege mechanics. If you restrict OCs and Corsair caps, you will quickly find any unlawful/quasi-lawful faction that has no battleships unable to remove them. The line where they may assist allied ships within their ZOI is the current workaround for that.
If POB sieges are changed to where battleships aren't involved, the ZOI can be adjusted for both IDs.

That is no different than Corsairs having capitals in New London. Should Sairs lose zoi in Bretonia then?
Shortest way from Corsair homebase (Omicron Gamma) to New London is four jumps. Shortest way from Outcast homebase (Omicron Alpha) to New York is six jumps if you take the way through Alaska which is however supposed to be top secret system inRP so this way should not be used. Regular shortest way through Kusari is eight jumps. It does not seem to me you are comparing same stuff when Outcasts have to travel twice as distance (including way through one whole house) than Corsairs (which just have to travel through two Omega systems and Cambridge).
The path from Crete to planet NL takes ~16 minutes. The path from Malta to Hattan takes ~21 minutes. That puts 4 jumps vs 8 jumps into perspective.
A corsair battleship fighting alongside GRN in New London against BAF and even LN is a bit of a bizarre sight. That doesn't mean the Sair caps shouldn't be able to travel to NL. But that should also apply to the Outcast caps. The IDs should both stay the way they are or both have zoi capital ship restrictions. The biased fixation on expicilty OC caps in Liberty makes no sense.
Not really, comparing distance in jumps/systems is the only way to make some perspective in roleplay, the real ingame travel time is no measure because it´s incredibly short to make the game playable without spending hours travelling. Also the travel from Alpha to Hattan takes 21 minutes only when you use trade lanes what is another ooRP stuff because how the hell could Kusari military let slip foreign warship which is taking the way next to all stations, planets and security outposts and thus its every move is immediately reported? If you sneak through Kusari properly like you should, you will travel quite longer than 21 minutes.
I would not mind if non-house unlawfuls could not enter house capital system, including Corsairs in New London. Thing it that they apear there quite rarely, especially with caps. What returns us to question why they can restrict themself (mostly) to reasonable roleplay and Outcast players can´t (and thus we repeatedly have the threads calling for restriction of their caps in Liberty). But again, we are comparing "right to raid" of Corsairs to their neighbours while Liberty is definitely not neighbourhood for Outcasts.
pirate caps should be able to go any where they want , seeing as they are of unlawfull factions that don't follow lawfull factions rules, there law breakers not givers !
