Who is going to manage all those server overrides for ID descriptions? Where will we get 20+ trusted people (with emphasis on the "trusted" part) who will be willing to edit, change, recycle and write all those individual IDs and who will oversee if they are all correct? What if someone with connections writes in more rights on some IDs than the SRP actually permits? How are we going to keep in touch with all character developments and judge which ones are metagamed and which ones are legit?
P.S. also, we are running out of space in our current .DLLs, that means extra DLLs have to be created just to manage those IDs

The people who voted on the SRPs in the first place, of course.
Setting up an ID from a blank is not hard. I do not see where the issue is for Copy-pasting existing lines and adding the few custom changes that come with SRPs.
Presumably the staff who are approving SRP IDs on the forums are capable of updating a configuration file when they do so.
IIRC at some point most IDs were ruled as being visible in-RP as what's sent by a transponder, the notable exception being the Wild and Nomad ones. Your IFF is more like an AIS broadcast than a transponder because it just keeps blasting over and over, not the result of a device that transmits a response to a request for identification. That being said, this has always been something that's kind of been on the edge of god knows what the actual right answer is, so a tasty green conclusion would be cool.

I've tried finding a way to do that. It's not something I've accomplished yet because of the complexity of systems involved and the lack of time I've had to start rummaging through server.dll to find the bits that I want to molest.
So I was checking all kinds of ships in Conn over the last two days, and many SRPs were there. I found literally only one ship having set a /showinfo, and that wasn't even an approved SRP. That feature definitely needs a bit more attention, or Kaz finds a nice workaround.
