It is remarkable how things change from one moment to another. Are your minds incapable of critical thinking, I wonder, or simply lacking strategic thought?
But let's take things from the beginning. All Lane Hacker operatives, from the most lowly Initiate to even Moriarty Himself faithfully follow our operational regulations. Any and every operation in Bretonia is conducted with utmost deference to Gaian Guard. No matter how lowly the GG pilot is, we will faithfully execute his orders and respect your supremacy in your House. Similarly we expect the same level of respect in our territory. So when a Corsair transport bearing the GG transponder enters our space it is natural to raise a few eyebrows. Especially when it does not carry the official GG Identification as it should have.
So when a Lane Hacker operative asks the unidentifiable Corsair transport to stop for questioning, it will stop even more so when this request is made by a sitting Professor. Repeatedly ignoring all warnings and going on your merry way is extremely inadvisable, my friends, the fact that Sequoia was simply damaged but not destroyed shows that such acts of disrespect are not valued but we also wish to avoid direct escalation. Such as the one you are exhibiting here.
The Lane Hackers is one of the few organizations in Sirius which values and keeps in such high regard your eco-struggle and ideas. We still do. But we expect your men to obey our commands just like we would do in a similar case. We only ask the obvious.
Please take the next few days and consider if we are worthy of this partnership. If losing one of your very few regional allies is something which will benefit your faction. Of course we also have gains from this partnership but the Gaian Guard is the one which makes tons of money by the artifact smuggling and also by steadily expanding its influence deeper into Liberty. And then consider the Corsairs, the ones who based on all accounts have somewhat partnered with your sworn enemies, the Kingdom of Gallia. Rememember, we both share a long list of mutual archenemies, and a very short one on allies.
Needless to say, the Lane Hackers will respect whichever path you may decide to take.
I do not believe we had the pleasure before. My name is Caroline Ross, and I lead a small subsection of the Guard tasked with gather knowledge and acting upon it. One of our more recent visits to the system of Bering has brought to our attention a certian misunderstanding between Battlegroup Harmony and the Alster Union. Although we have learned of both parties' outlook on the situation, our very brief investigation revealed a possible lead. It would seem that Harmony is exchanging information with the Hellfire Legion. It is not a course of action we approve of, given our past with both of those groups, but we would require solid proof before acting. All we have is one side of the story, after all.
Are the Lane Hackers in possession of information that could shed some light on this development? We are only capable of providing you with a monetary compensation as of now, but we are open to other ideas to be realized at a later date.
Based on your credentials your position is.. 'Matriarch'? Ms Ross tell us about this Emerald Order, we would definitely like to know more about the cell contacting us.
Regarding your question, the answer is yes, the Battlegroup Harmony has invited the lowest forms of life in Liberty, self-identifying as Hellfire Legion, into Bering system. The situation unfolding there is very troubling for our interests but we are slowly stepping in and taking measures. Furthermore, based on my informants' data and USI route databases I would strongly recommend Gaian smuggling ships to redirect shipments heading for Lane Hacker stations from Bering to Hudson system. Battlegroup Harmony will not be friendly to your smugglers any longer.
Some would call us a church, others would call us a cult. We are people of faith, strong faith, and I am the guide. I do not mean any offence, but I would not expect the intricacies of our beliefs to interest you. You could consider us an intelligence branch, one that handles tasks too dangerous or delicate for watcher simplicity or cohortian strenght to handle. It is not usual for us to handle diplomatic developments, but so it happened that it was us who learned of the conflict first.
I appreciate your generosity regarding the information, though I am afraid our relief convoy has already found out about it the hard way. As it stands, with direct fire exchanges having already taken place, an open admission of a pact with the Legion, and their use of high yield warheads against Pacifica, the Guard is likely to move into a state of open hostilities with separatist forces. It is not decided yet, but if Harmony wishes to open fire upon transports with medical supplies, we will have no other choice.
We have procured some interesting excerpts of conversation between two of your enemies. One of the main topics was you, in fact. I suspect you are interested in the actual content so I am attaching the audio logs.
[12.09.2018 20:56:45] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Lovely, incursions into New London seem to get more brazen
[12.09.2018 20:57:27] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Hardly surprising, all things considered. What are you Auxesians up too today anyhow?
[12.09.2018 20:57:31] [SIS]-Operative: ?: But really, we're just hoping to catch as many as we can, even just data on local ship movements always helps
[12.09.2018 20:57:47] A/)-Purple: i'm curious as to why you're asking if we've engaged it or not.
[12.09.2018 20:57:49] A/)-Purple: Ah, I see.
[12.09.2018 20:58:37] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Well, your ships frequent the areas now heavily effected by the Gallic presence
[12.09.2018 20:58:43] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: Do we?
[12.09.2018 20:58:47] A/)-Purple: Cortez?
[12.09.2018 20:58:55] A/)-Purple: Funny that, we haven't really seen Gallics.
[12.09.2018 20:59:03] A/)-Purple: Not within the past three weeks.
[12.09.2018 20:59:24] [SIS]-Operative: ?: So we're hoping any local flyers might see anything out of the ordinary first
[12.09.2018 20:59:30] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: They are probably sitting at that their hilarious shipyard in Edinburgh.
[12.09.2018 20:59:31] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Good to see our allies are watching our backs..
[12.09.2018 20:59:43] A/)-Purple: We did shoot that Battlecruiser and Gunboat in New London, you know.
[12.09.2018 20:59:49] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: Perhaps they're preparing another siege which is inevitably going to fail due to their lack of competence
[12.09.2018 20:59:58] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Cortez, Magellan, California...more dangerous now than ever before unfortunately
[12.09.2018 21:00:12] A/)-Purple: If we see them, we'll shoot them - if we don't - we can't.
[12.09.2018 21:00:40] [SIS]-James.Skirka: We're not saying to venture into the Gallic heartlands.
[12.09.2018 21:00:57] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: Look, another one of these.
[12.09.2018 21:01:05] [SIS]-James.Skirka: But the taus....I mean..you must have been up there once or twice.
[12.09.2018 21:01:10] A/)-Purple: Not really.
[12.09.2018 21:01:16] A/)-Purple: No reason to go up there.
[12.09.2018 21:01:20] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Excellent to hear. Sometimes we're not sure if they Gaul are being taken out, or if they are getting past our scouts
[12.09.2018 21:01:47] [SIS]Zackery:Statham: odd, I recall seeing you lot in Tau-44 just a few weeks back.
[12.09.2018 21:01:53] A/)-Purple: *I* was not present.
[12.09.2018 21:02:13] [SIS]-James.Skirka: When we refer to 'you', we mean as a collective.
[12.09.2018 21:02:19] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Auxesia..in general.
[12.09.2018 21:02:23] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Not you personally.
[12.09.2018 21:02:26] A/)-Purple: Well, I didn't hear about it.
[12.09.2018 21:02:55] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Can't change that.
[12.09.2018 21:03:06] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Where the hell did statham go?
[12.09.2018 21:04:35] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: I saw docking ring shooting at him.
[12.09.2018 21:04:35] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Oh he went looking to fix his lights or something, probably headed to Barrier Gate
[12.09.2018 21:04:47] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: Shooting at whom exactly?
[12.09.2018 21:04:55] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: At that Statham.
[12.09.2018 21:05:20] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Odd...I'll have to ask about that.
[12.09.2018 21:05:45] [SIS]-Operative: ?: *chuckles* or he need to work on his 'local' reputation
[12.09.2018 21:05:57] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: Makes me wonder /how/ he triggered the orbital defences without even coming close.
[12.09.2018 21:06:07] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Chasing dames isn't what he should be doing.
[12.09.2018 21:06:47] [SIS]-Operative: ?: just a fussy docking system
[12.09.2018 21:07:14] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: This 'fussy docking system' is installed on... actually 100% of Sirius habitated planets.
[12.09.2018 21:07:15] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Quite so. Well he's off to fix his rep so I guess we'll have to wait.
[12.09.2018 21:08:08] [SIS]-Operative: ?: OSC is likely where the problem is *smiles* Yes that's gotta be it
[12.09.2018 21:08:20] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: Blame the corps, man.
[12.09.2018 21:08:33] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Always.
[12.09.2018 21:11:11] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Soo...any plans Auxesians?
[12.09.2018 21:11:15] A/)-Purple: Not really.
[12.09.2018 21:11:22] A/)-Purple: It truly gets boring around here.
[12.09.2018 21:11:23] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: Negatory.
[12.09.2018 21:11:33] A/)-Purple: We had a couple of Gaians trying to be hardarses and attack our home but they died.
[12.09.2018 21:11:49] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Gaians?
[12.09.2018 21:11:53] A/)-Purple: Yes. Gaians.
[12.09.2018 21:12:02] [SIS]-James.Skirka: They're a long way from home wouldn't you say?
[12.09.2018 21:12:11] A/)-Purple: There's a Gaian cell one system over.
[12.09.2018 21:12:13] A/)-Purple: So, no.
[12.09.2018 21:12:19] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: Blame the bureaucrats and money-obsessed fools in charge of these.
[12.09.2018 21:12:22] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Gaians giving you trouble eh? What kind of ships?
[12.09.2018 21:12:30] A/)-Purple: Actually, I believe there's one sector away from here too.
[12.09.2018 21:12:40] A/)-Purple: Oh, Gunboats, Fighters...
[12.09.2018 21:12:41] A/)-Purple: The usual.
[12.09.2018 21:12:52] A/)-Purple: They thought their primitive technology would save them, it didn't.
[12.09.2018 21:13:07] A/)-Purple: They died with a posture of cockiness.
[12.09.2018 21:13:14] [SIS]-James.Skirka: You don't like the eco terrorists?
[12.09.2018 21:13:25] A/)-Purple: They shoot us and they help the Corsairs - and they're /your/ enemies too.
[12.09.2018 21:13:26] [SIS]-Operative: ?: It seems they are never sure who they want to lash out at. I wish they'd just KILL SOME GAULS
[12.09.2018 21:13:28] A/)-Purple: Why are you surprised?
[12.09.2018 21:13:42] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: It's ironic how they litter the local space with their remains.
[12.09.2018 21:14:29] [SIS]-James.Skirka: I suppose.
[12.09.2018 21:14:39] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Gaians never stuck me as a real threat though
[12.09.2018 21:14:44] A/)-Purple: If they come back, they'll just die again.
[12.09.2018 21:14:45] [SIS]-Operative: ?: sad they're not putting the effort into better things
[12.09.2018 21:14:52] A/)-Purple: They're wasting their energy.
[12.09.2018 21:14:55] [SIS]-James.Skirka: I agree
[12.09.2018 21:15:08] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Why are they out for you lot though?
[12.09.2018 21:15:19] A/)-Purple: Because we help blow up their base in Inverness.
[12.09.2018 21:15:24] A/)-Purple: er, helped the Legion.
[12.09.2018 21:15:36] A/)-Purple: They help the Corsairs. That annoys us.
[12.09.2018 21:15:37] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: They /do/ put energy into better affairs. If you lack the opportunity to see this - doesn't mean they don't.
[12.09.2018 21:15:41] A/)-Purple: They shoot our allies. That annoys us.
[12.09.2018 21:15:50] A/)-Purple: They smuggle junk from the Corsairs. That annoys us.
[12.09.2018 21:16:07] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Presumably you have evidence of these charges?
[12.09.2018 21:16:14] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Indeed. They're lucky to be hanging on still it seems
[12.09.2018 21:16:34] A/)-Purple: Of course? Why would we act on nothing?
[12.09.2018 21:16:57] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Would you be kind enough to forward it to us?
[12.09.2018 21:17:14] A/)-Purple: They do this kind of thing in Bretonia all the time, why would it be any surprise to you?
[12.09.2018 21:17:30] /time
[12.09.2018 21:17:30] 2018-09-12 21:17:32 SMT
[12.09.2018 21:17:39] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Because the Corsairs have allied themselves with Gallia
[12.09.2018 21:17:46] A/)-Purple: Hahahah!
[12.09.2018 21:17:48] A/)-Purple: Really?!
[12.09.2018 21:17:58] A/)-Purple: Priceless.
[12.09.2018 21:17:59] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Yet the Gaians have agreed to assist against Gallia.
[12.09.2018 21:18:01] [SIS]-Operative: ?: We've been assessing their behaviour lately as well, to see if they're managable or not
[12.09.2018 21:18:01] A/)-Purple: That's extra funny.
[12.09.2018 21:18:16] A/)-Purple: The Core has been trading and exchanging with Gallia too, you know.
[12.09.2018 21:18:50] [SIS]-James.Skirka: No, no I was not aware.
[12.09.2018 21:19:12] [SIS]-Operative: ?: *sighs* we'd sure take evidence of that as well. That would be worth a little reward I'm sure
[12.09.2018 21:19:35] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Cuz that isn't what we like to hear
[12.09.2018 21:19:45] A/)-Purple: I'm sure you can pester our command about it.
[12.09.2018 21:20:12] [SIS]-Operative: ?: if they send us actual good proof the core is cutting deals like that i'd pay a little bit for a tidbit
[12.09.2018 21:20:12] [SIS]-James.Skirka: We'll be sure to do more than just that.
[12.09.2018 21:21:05] [SIS]-Operative: ?: But its gotta be pretty solid intel of course
[12.09.2018 21:21:09] A/)-Purple: If you're really interested in it, go inquire.
[12.09.2018 21:21:22] [SIS]-James.Skirka: We will. Don't worry about that
[12.09.2018 21:21:49] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Indeed, that sounds good to me
[12.09.2018 21:22:22] A/)-Purple: Whatever floats your boat.
[12.09.2018 21:22:26] [SIS]-James.Skirka: I'd also like to know why Auxesia didn't tell about it sooner.
[12.09.2018 21:22:34] [SIS]-James.Skirka: *//tell us*
[12.09.2018 21:22:41] A/)-Purple: I wouldn't know.
[12.09.2018 21:23:57] Naiad: Whoops.
[12.09.2018 21:24:00] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Well, we best be getting on.
[12.09.2018 21:24:04] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Paperwork sucks, we know all too well in the service
[12.09.2018 21:24:06] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: I suppose so.
[12.09.2018 21:24:40] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Why is the trade lane disrupted.
[12.09.2018 21:24:48] [SIS]-James.Skirka: Sankyuu...
[12.09.2018 21:25:00] A/)-Purple: That Zoner is abusive to trade lanes.
[12.09.2018 21:25:00] [SIS]-Operative: ?: Thanks Auxesians, we're off. Fly safe!
[12.09.2018 21:25:01] A/)-Yersenia.Pestis: Local Zoner doesn't know what to do.
[12.09.2018 21:25:20] S̸̨̕͜͡a҉̷̛ǹ̡͜͝͡k̸̀͟y̴̡̧͠u̴̵̢̕͠u̧: Boredom 'is' annoying.
We don't wish to ask for anything specific in return, but we'd appreciate if you say a few good words about us to your boys in Atacama Cohort. We were off to a bad start and the Professorship believes this needs to change immediately. I think the best way to forge a relationship is to fight and shed blood together, the bonds of comradeship cannot easily break. I'll trust and leave the details on how to achieve this in your capable hands but joint operations, working on our Job Board, etc can be arranged and accepted on our behalf.
From: Warden Lily Collins, Gaian Guard To: Operative Weisen Encryption: Not bad Subject: Information
Good day.
The Guard appreciates the information provided. As for the Cohort, I will see what can be done. However, if you want this to get anywhere, I would suggest not aggraviating the conflict at every opportunity. I hope you will consider.
From: Matriarch Caroline Ross To: The Lane Hackers Encryption: Exceptional Subject: Diplomatic slip-up
Greetings.
I would like to urge you to screen the command staff of your destroyers a little better. It would seem one of them is acting against our mutual friends in the Union, thus contradicting your neutral stance in the conflict. I hope their claim of acting independently was sincere, as I would hate to see the Lane Hackers working against the Guard's interests.
Regards,
Caroline Ross, Matriarch of the Emerald Order
From: Adept Zealot, Emerald Order To: Lane Hackers Encryption: Exceptional Subject: Texas encounter
Good evening.
The Matriarch wished me to express her utmost disappointment that the Lane Hackers have failed to address our concerns. Despite that, however, she also wished you to be provided scans of an infected gunboat we encountered today, in the Texas system. The crew attempted to conceal themselves as an ordinary Navy vessel, perhaps hoping that no closer scans would be conducted.
I was asked to respond to this comm, but it totally slipped my aging mind. Anyway to answer your inquiry, we have publicly declared our neutrality in this conflict yet passions are running high after the false accusations from Corin Frei. I believe Deceiver Willing was simply trying to defend the honor and integrity of our Professor and in her fervor to achieve that she committed a mistake.
We are indeed disappointed by her lack of professionalism and as a result, my superiors have already stripped her from Retaliator command and re-assigned her to another sector, away from Bering. I hope this clarifies the situation.
Regarding the Aoi infected group, I would like to thank you for the evidence. It appears they have stepped up their operations in Liberty and I would like to ask you to notify everyone in the Guard to be extra vigilant whenever an |Aoi tagged ship appears on their scanners. Just one misstep and one of our members is unwillingly infected, it can create disastrous effects for all of us.
