Doctor,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kim Ye-jin, and I'm a Specialist in the Fourth Octavarium Fleet. My current posting is Security Chief aboard Eureka Station, Natio Octavarium's embassy to the Kingdom of Bretonia.
First, a bit of background. I was born on New Tokyo on May 23rd 785. When I turned 18, I left Kusari and joined the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army. Most of my career was spent in Internal Security, rooting out enemies of the Revolution within our own ranks. When the Volkhan came to power, I joined his side willingly and accepted my nerve staple voluntarily. After the civil war ended, I was sentenced to seven years of reeducation through labor in the Coalition's harshest gulag as a consequence of that choice.
This brings me to the reason I'm calling. Shortly after I completed my sentence and returned to the Revolutionary Army, my nerve staple started functioning again. It was supposed to be permanantly disabled, and the Coalition's doctors refused to listen to me. I was considered tainted, you see, and nobody wanted anything to do with me. Since there was no help to be found at home, I left Coalition space in hopes of finding a solution to my problem. I eventually found my way to Natio Octavarium. The Natio's doctors have done what they can for me, but this is beyond their experience. They've prescribed medication that mitigates the staple's worst effects, but that's a temporary measure at best.
In my discussions with the various doctors I've consulted, your name came up. If there's anything you can do to help, I'd very much appreciate it.

Good Afternoon, Miss Ye-jin,
I thought those nerve staples were a thing of the past. I do remember the Volkhan's rise as he attempted to capture me for my service. I would have suffered the same fate if he succeeded. Nerve staples are just as evil as cardamine in my book.
I am here for awhile and will await your arrival. When you arrive, mention that I am expecting you at outpatient services. That is where we will get started as I would rather not discuss treatment over the airwaves.
I do look forward to seeing you and please be safe on your journey here.

Doctor Holliday,
Thank you for your quick reply. I, too, thought the staples were a thing of the past. I suspect there's something different about mine, as I've never heard of one spontaneously self-repairing. I'm glad to hear you're able to help. I should be able to get leave approved and requisition a shuttle in the next day or two. I'll see you soon.
