Kingdom of Bretonia
Foreign & Commonwealth Office
Good Morning,
My name is Percy Wilkinson. Normally a communication of this nature would be well above my level, but in the aftermath of the attack on New London by the Gallic Royal Navy, we're still in the process of trying to locate all of our people. The Foreign Minister, Lord George Mountbatten, is among the missing along with a large portion of this office's staff. Until the situation improves, I've been empowered to speak on behalf of the Kingdom of Bretonia in this matter.
As bad as the situation on New London is, things are that much worse on Leeds. In violation of every law of war, and every basic principle of human decency, the Gallic Royal Navy has been conducting indiscriminate wide-area orbital bombing of the surface of Leeds. There is no valid military objective to be obtained there, this campaign is purely genocide born of spite. The Kingdom of Gallia is collapsing and King Charles and his gang of criminals masquerading as a military are lashing out at the defenceless and the innocent. They mean to kill everyone left on the surface, and will succeed unless they can be driven away.
Her Majesty asks that you stand with us, in memory of the ancient bonds of friendship that brought all of us to Sirius. Declare war on these uncivilised animals, help us drive them out once and for all. We also ask that you call on every ship you have capable of carrying people to come to Leeds and assist with the evacuation. At this point, minutes and hours count, and every life we can save is precious.
In Her Majesty's Service,
Percy Wilkinson
Deputy Adjutant to the Fourth Assistant Junior Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Minor Powers Section, FCO
Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Minister - Nofumi Saito
To the self-appointed (?) secretary of the apparent ministry of foreign affairs of Bretonia,
I wish you a good day.
Unfortunately for you, the minister does not wish to bother with a message from unreliable sources. We heavily doubt that Bretonia lost like half their government to end up calling out to us through a - how did you address yourself again - ah, right, 'Fourth Assistant Junior Undersecretary'.
It saddens us to hear about the situation in Leeds, yet we see no visual or otherwise data proving your point here.
The overall lack of trust we can spare to a source like you, as well as the obvious lack of data supporting the accusations against the Kingdom of Gallia, in very addition to the fact that the Empire of Kusari has her own conflicts to fight, leaves us currently with the decision not to act as of now.
Means such as medicines or medical equipment for humanitarian aid are a point for possible discussion, direct involvement into the affairs of Leeds is highly unlikely to occur.
A friendly personal addition - if a matter is so urgent that the Queen of Bretonia calls out for the house of Rheinland and the house of Kusari for aid, it would be the best to underline the urgency by having her approach our respective governments herself, not through a 'Fourth Assistant Junior Undersecretary Tea Making Underling".
With cordial regards, Nofumi Saito
Secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs
PRIORITY:High ENCRYPTION:High IDENTIFICATION:Senator Albricht von Amensen SOURCE:Bundestagsamt, New Berlin
Guten Tag,
It seems hardly appropriate to use such a phrase on a day such as this. The Rheinlandic Volk have watched with breathless horror the recent cataclysms heaped upon New London and Leeds, and the grace with which your people have endured their plight. In the darkest times one reaches for our fellow man, and in these times humanity must reach out and come together in pursuit of life.
Words seem hardly enough to express the depth of the sorrow we feel for your people, and we hope you will accept our sincerest condolences for your fallen as the token it is intended.
The voice of the Rheinland Government is unanimous in its desire to extend to your our hand, and offer you every Humanitarian relief which we may. We have accordingly requested of Republican Shipping, Daumann Heavy Construction and Kruger GmbH to make available with all haste ships for the transportation of food, water, medical and relief supplies, as well as carry away from harm any Refugees which may need evacuation. We are assured these vessels and crews are available for immediate deployment along with proceeds from a state funded Disaster Relief Fundraising campaign.
Signed on behalf of the Rheinland Government,
Albricht von Amensen
Senator Albricht von Amensen
Bundesrepublik Rheinland
Undersecretary Wilkinson was appointed by members of the cabinet to establish contact with our neighbouring houses to arrange for aid and relief efforts to move in to assist those who have been targeted by the tyranny of the Gallic war machine. It was civilian targets they attacked Ms Saito, not military. Frankly, I care not for your position in this war, such a move should shake you to your very core, or are you so heartless?
As for who makes contact, that is a matter for Her Majesty's government to decide, not a matter for Her Majesty Herself to contact you over. That is our role in Bretonia after all. Queen Carina is far too busy in matters of state to be contacting other houses, especially at a time like this.
You may think me undiplomatic, and indeed I am, for you see your missive makes your position quite clear. You mock us in our time of need. That you think so lowly of such a tragedy speaks volumes. However, you are welcome to send a representative of your own to view the slag pile that is Buckingham Palace, and various areas of the Westminster Megapolis for yourselves, or perhaps a visit to Leeds to view the bombardment sites of the Gallic Warwolf cannons as they hit the planets surface. If that's not enough, perhaps the sight of Gallic Naval patrols shooting down the transports filled with refugees that are attempting to flee that god forsaken world. Perhaps that will satisfy your need for evidence.
I would bid you good day, if I felt the gesture would be returned.
Senator Albricht von Amensen,
Please forgive my outburst. Our people suffer, and our pleas for help are mocked. These are trying times, to say the least.
We graciously accept your offer for assistance, and I would like to offer my seal of approval should you choose to submit any request for special escorts during this period with our Armed Forces. It is up to them to approve it, but putting my name on the request may help speed things up a little.
Your offer has humbled me Senator, and I hope, that once this is all over, we may sit together and discuss ways to drive our respective houses forwards, so that we both may become the great houses of old.
To the esteemed Richard Davis, Permanent Secretary of the Home Office
Greetings Mr. Secretary Davis. This is Minister Kojirou speaking. It is with sadness that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the House of Kusari receive the news that Planet New London, centennial capital of Culture and Tradition for the Bretonian Kingdom, has been woefully struck by the fires of war, affect the lives of innumerable people, and even reaching a level that affects the otherwise unblemished processes of the Bretonian leadership. These are indeed times of great trials, and it is apparent in the heated tempers of the Undersecretary... I'm sorry, the Deputy Adjutant Wilkinson, that he had been given an ordeal way above his capability. Therefore we will grant forgiveness on his colorful language, and wish him and his colleagues on the Minor Powers Section a speedy recovery from the damage and a smooth week of work ahead.
Now regarding your humanitarian request for relief and support, I have reviewed the situation based on the facts and data I have on hand. As a side comment, I thank you for your referral of the recent news article by the Colony News Service. It is understood that the victims are countless, and the damage quite severe. I have instructed our ambassador in New London to compile a report of our own so as to have a more defined vision of the impact of the invasion.
In regular protocols, the House of Kusari would be issuing a travel advisory warning to all its citizens to not travel into the New London system, in the same manner that a warning is issued for the Leeds system since it became a warzone.... quite a few years ago until now. In consideration to the pleas of the House of Bretonia, and acknowledging its fighting spirit, the Government of the House Kusari will not issue any travel bans for the capital system, and any Kusari transports, corporate and private entities, will be free to contribute to the relief efforts in New London, at their own accord and peril.
I will finish this message with a remark that the House of Kusari is not indifferent to the troubles of our time, and that a noble House such as Bretonia to be left severely debilitated to its core is one of the worst outcomes imaginable. The Government of Kusari and the Diet of the House are busy drafting a proposal for a greatly generous rebuilding support program to aid Bretonia in its recovery by the time the drums of war become silent. It is expected that the recovery plan will include vast material and technical support, as well as unprecedentedly large free investment fund to be granted to Bretonia (precise values to be determined at a later date).
With cordial regards, Toshinori Kojirou
Minister of Foreign Affairs
