Well, I've managed to get myself hooked in a Xeno Eagle and have been prowling the NPC traders for some time...

Luckily I did see a trader or 2 along my way and got to extort one for 20 units of food and 10 units of h-fuel... and the other refused to pay so he got shot up.

Now here is my question...

Upon shooting him, i automatically tractor in the loot, i docked, logged off and came back the next day.

I started to check if everything was peachy for another go and noticed I had some excess weapons...When i sold a bunch of low-level's, i noticed that i had 4 Codenames !!!! (I literally jumped up and down:))

Now my question is........

Will my Xeno be allowed to pack these here guns... and more important... IF he can... can he mount say lvl7 Rapiers (low-level Corsair Shieldbusters 200/400 damage) for the sake of matching speeds?! Or should he stick with his debs and pray for a miracle to happen when he shoots.

I know about weapons groups, but there is nothing so frustrating as hardly getting a shield down, cus you lack the firepower because you projectile speeds are not the same...


In regards to getting the guns, i will have no trouble shooting down at least 20 Corsairs before i get my hands on them. They seem to find Liberty a new playing ground these days, so im glad to kick them back to their rotten canabalistic rock.

I say go for it, although Corsair guns are a bit off for a xeno... Arent there any 600m/s guns available to Xeno's?

Xenos weapons have faster projectiles than 600 (Suntigers and Blackwidows) and marry well with Imp debs. Unfortunately, while codes are attainable, using Corsair weapons (tizonas, coladas) is quite a stretch. Xenos tend to distrust outside weapons much like the Blood Dragons cling to their beloved "swords", so I'd be surprised to see a Xeno packing anything clearly outside of what would readily be available for them in and around Liberty space.

Rapier on a Xeno eagle.. could look a bit weird. If you are so keen on using coded guns, I would recommend you to stay away from a Corsair gun.

I use mismatching guns to great effect on my Wrath and Guardian: 2 Debs and 3 codes on each, and they work great. Corsair guns? Big no-no.

Its me not for the Corsair guns.. its for the 600m/s, I simply want something to match them to. If i cant find anything useable to fit with my codes, ill probably wind up selling them to the highest bidder... but then again.. who would buy codenames from a Xeno... they could fear it's a bomb.

just learn to use weapon groupings.

put your codenames into your main weapon group, and your shield busters into a seperate group, then switch between them as needed.
