Even more helpful would be to file a bug report describing the observed behavior in game and under what conditions it occurred. The more data you gather, the easier it will be for developers to correct.

Recent sieges that I know for a fact did not have bugged platforms:
Masamune (sp?)
Yamato
I know for a fact that they didn't, because I spent the entire period of the sieges in a gunboat flying in circles between the POB and the siege ships, drawing the fire of the platforms since NPC AI only targets the closest enemy.
