Jack I need you to stay clear headed and focus on the objective. Well done for following the protocols - they are there to keep us safe as long as possible. Interceptors have already been scrambled and will be there with you shortly, an armoured transport with a squad of marines has also been dispatched to board your ship. Their first priority is to ensure your safety and secure the bridge so stay locked in there unless it is not feasible to do so. Their second priority is then to pacify the threat, they are armed with neuron disruptor rifles to stun the target.
The cargo pods should only be jettison at last resort. I understand this is very disconcerting but you know very well Kadesh needs this supply and the colonists are depending on you to prevail. Stay agile and remain diligent at the bridge until our security personnel are by your side to relieve you.
Update to the incident on board the Apamea - The marines have successfully boarded, re-powered the trading vessel found drift at the outer edges of Tohoku, and interceptors escorted the transport until it was docked in Kadesh. Jack was found shaken from the ordeal but safe. He has been to medical for a brief check up, and I have been told by the doctors his brain had showed signs of intensive activity, but slowing returning to normal. He has just given been the all clear to return to his quarters for rest, but I will assign a security person to continue keeping track of his movement from distance for a short while longer.
As for the unexpected hitchhiker... It turns out to be a fighter pilot in Xeno uniform, but it was also acting completely out of wacks when the Marines got to one of the Apamea's cargo pods. The Xeno was subsequently stunned and the marines shoved the pilot back into the lifepod under guard. Not only that, when the marines wheeled the lifepod from the docking hanger into customs, it triggered the bio-scanner alarms ... Well at least we know the scanner from The Order works, and we also have an infested person on board the station.
The infectee is now held up in a containment cell in the security wing. Each cell is standalone container unit attached to Kadesh and I have given the guards permission to jettison the unit and let it burn up on Palmyra if it does anything funny or attempted to escape. I will let you decide what to do with him in the meantime.
Furthermore, our data analysis manage to clear up the flight box and confirmed a nomad vessel was in the vicinity during the time Jack was "incapacitated". We could only assume the nomad managed to influence Jack to bring the pod on board the vessel... and I cant believe I am saying this, but In a sense I suppose this was one of the better outcomes and it was lucky Jack had good a mental fortitude. Imagine if the nomad successfully proselytised a captain fully and hauled in a bomb, or attacked another faction under our banner, the consequences would have been much much worse. I think we need to urgently develop some form of psionic inhibitors either on board the ship, or on pilot helmet to ensure our pilots and captains are not put under the same situation again.
That’s some restless news I must say. Our trade ships risk their lives every time they depart from the Kadesh… You should indeed think about how to improve the safety of Trade department operations. Of course, I understand that we couldn’t lend an escort for every trade ship, but probably some additional equipment against possible intruders onboard the ship could potentially save the lives of our people. Perhaps you should consider providing some militia onboard these ships. Although the amount of security shouldn’t be redundant and safety of the colony is your task number one. On the note, I already contacted the Order in regard to transports(or, perhaps, blackmarket?) constructed Bisons and Grizzlies. I’ll let you know progress on this topic.
The intruder should be kept alive. I hold you responsible, ensure absolute safety onboard Kadesh. We can talk about his fate later, but I think we can benefit from this incident, Research department could pass some tests. Perhaps there's a way to save the life of the pilot, yet I heard its impossible. Further investigation will be required but submission on how the alien control body and mind can be useful in research of active protection from alien remote influence, perhaps collaboration of Research and Construction departments could lead to some results. As for Jack… I hope everything is well with my friend. But strictly between me and you, make sure nothing went wrong with his mind after the contact. He’s quite an impulsive person, perhaps we can send him to the Erie to recover, some fresh air would be a good thing to refresh the mind.
This has been a troubling incident to hear about to say the least. I would give instructions to the rest of the trading fleet on what to do but I am at a loss as what to say to them. Still, we have dealt with this sort of thing in the past and while concerned I feel that generally moral remains steady and resolve is strong with the officers of the trade fleet. We all await news of Jacks recovery from this horrible incident.
I wanted to make the rest of the faction leadership aware of some dealings effecting our external trade.
Firstly, we received and have completed a request from Damascus Research Station in Omicron Mu for 20,000 units Quantum Arrays. Upon completion, I received a request from the stations administrator, LT. Dr. Raphael Chandler, for access to Kadesh Orbital in regards to making his own survey of Palmyra. I am passing this request onto the rest of you for further discussion and have replied to expect and official reply from Christian when a decision has been made.
Secondly, I wish to touch upon the situation at the GMG's Iejima Station. Our trade ships made reports that the station had begun to fall into a state of disrepair and that crew had begun to abandon the station due to an apparent lack of resources. I personally dispatched a ZBT transport to make emergency resupply efforts for the base and reached out to the stations administration to make them aware of the situation, and offer official assistance on a long term basis. I received no reply and the station soon fell back into disrepair once the emergency supplies had run out. Iejima Station is a critical part of our external trade as it is the primary source of Helium-3 that we export to our newly established trading partners, the Gallic Royal Enclave.
In light of this I have assigned the ZBT transport (\^/)Royal.Flush on a part time basis to keep the base supplied until the GMG's situation is resolved. I think this is important not only for the access to Helium-3 but to have further 'considerations' in our favor in future negotiations with GMG. However, should the station no longer be able to supply Helium-3 and there continues to be silence from GMG on the issue then I will have no choice but to pull the plug on support for the station. I sincerely hope it does not come to that.
Alec, if there is any need for emergency evacuation of either Jack or our new Xeno friend please know that I have put the liner (\^/)Oberon on stand-by and at your disposal should the need arise.
Today I want to make an announcement that Quiron Lacroix no longer lead Ontores project. Its wasteful to split such personnel on very different business, I want make him more concerned on Outer affairs department.
Nevertheless, our recon missions and setting first temporary settlement on surface of Palmyra shouldn’t be paused. Welcome Aitan Fleshen as new head of Ontores project. All questions in regard of further planet colonization should be forwarded to him.
The first group of Bison Transports have arrived from our Order friends at Cairo Outpost and have begun to integrate into our trading fleet.
While there have been some challenges recruiting and training more tactical and gunnery officers into the fleet over all reports have been positive. While the ship lacks a dedicated countermeasures system, it holds more than enough firepower to fend off attacks from the smaller Nomad fighter groups we encounter ever more often in the Omicrons.
Currently we are unable to exploit the ships systems to their fullest ability, but we continue to work with Order Technicians in training our crews who are largely unfamiliar with house technology. As things stand at the moment I do not foresee any pressing issues, although I have pondered the potential diplomatic costs to using these ships further out from our home in Omicron Sigma. Some of our trade partners are no friend to Liberty's allies, and trying to explain our relationship with the Order is both unwise and difficult. I hope it does not become an issue to explain these new vessels, and is worth our consideration as we progress with deployment.
Its been a pain in the arse, finally we are done with yet another contact with the Enclave. Don’t get me wrong, they are nice boys, but It's have been tedious work, though safe and short enough to shut up and get in ship and start working. Apamea is returning back to the Kadesh Colony, I heard some more of construction works is scheduled, so I believe my brand new Bison will be useful there. I’ll contact Dirk on this regard on private comms.
On a side note, something is wrong with the Apamea powerplant. Though I never participated in any fight yet on my shiny baby, our technicians in the Construction and Development department should work sometime to repair our damn new ships. Why the hell brand new ship can be better than my old Borderworld Train… Nah, I’m kidding. It was garbage which still comes in my nightmare dreams. Oh and by the way, I come up with idea use my old train as planetfall one-way-to-go pod, at least it would be somehow useful for Ontores project.
Please excuse my sudden disappearance for quite a long time. The recent liberation of Gran Canaria from Bretonian oppression allowed my father to restore the old hardware store and I could not afford to not lend a helping hand. Upon my return to Kadesh, the equipment that came from the Order(to whom I convey my deepest appreciation) immediately plunged me into the work of refining it with the helps of fellow technicians onboard for its further descent to the surface of Palmyra. Everything is ready for the launch of the first "PERIT" Rover, we even managed to develop a system for delivering it from the rescue pod which we have plenty of around the whole Phoenix Fleet - just say the word.
Sorry, Jack. I'll spare your train as planetfall one-way-to-go option next time.
Undrestood, I hope everything goes alright with your dad’s shop on the Canaria now. Tell us later how it goes, if not so well - probably we can help him, although its depends what type of hardware is being sold.
You are permitted to launch first planetfall on surface of Palmyra, report us how it will go. You are free to use any spare resources onboard the Kadesh, if it will be needed, include Jack’s train, I believe it will be no longer needed. Although any valuable equipment before planetfall should be unmounted.
Alec,
Like we talked privately, I think we can afford next step of construction of cloaking factory onboard of Kadesh Orbital Colony. Due to dash of Nomad activity in our main zone of operations, our ships are required of using stealth equipment. I’ve heard Ganymede already on the scheduled list of further upgrades, but Dirk can share with us more details. Anyway, you are now free to engage construction works on the Kadesh, keep us informed on the progress.
Actually I believe it will be our newly commissioned reconnaissance focused cruiser Cressida, that will be in need of our newly furbished cloak factory upon its completion.
I can understand the confusion as it has been something of a low key and long term project in my fleet as we have sourced some of the best available weapons and sensor equipment available in all of Sirius for this vessel. The ship has been seeing some action in support of our carriers during her final shakedown, and will be available soon to fill its intended purpose of deep space reconnoiter and scientific support upon installation of a cloaking device. I will also commence final transfer of command to her new Captain, Dyna Drake who I am sure you will have the pleasure of meeting in short order.
In regards to the cloak module construction, the final loads of Quantum Arrays are imminently inbound to Kadesh Orbital. That leaves about 15,000 remaining units of Optronic Arrays to be sourced.
