I have been able to acquire a new facility for our group. Delta Mining Corp. is now in the majority possession of our holding trust and is under my direct command.
I would rather not go into great detail here on all the moving parts in regards to this, but suffice it to say I was able to take advantage of a situation over other parties trying to do the same thing, I think. Perhaps some things are better left in the shadows. The stations commander, Richard Regan, has agreed to continue as the stations chief of operations and continuity of operations should not be effected by this change. Ships are being re-tagged as Phoenix vessels and updates to stations public information systems are underway. I have assigned Commander Drake and the (\^/)Cressida to watch over the facility and patrol Delta for the time being.
At this point I don't see the point of changing the base name, as I will be operating this as a business for external trade for the mutual profit of Phoenix.
There is a small matter I want to bring to your attention, and seek your advice on.
As you may remember, some time ago we established official trade relations with the group who controls the Lab Reactor facilities, Toccata Industries Corp. I have been informed that their has been some unusual activity from this group over the last few weeks. Most notably, Phoenix and former DMC ships cannot dock or trade here anymore. Both entities had asked for and received docking privileges which have been revoked for some unknown reason. With your blessing, I would like to investigate this further. Seeing as you can see the Lab Reactors from DMC's front door so to speak, I think it is important to establish were we stand with them. If something has changed between Phoenix and ~TIC~ we should establish what happened and work towards smoothing out relations rather then let a competitive relationship form that I believe will hurt the both of us in the long term.
This is indeed good news for us. I’ve got several reports from our escorts about its location and this installation indeed could be a handy for us. I urge you to extend our trade fleet capacity by mining ships. We have several within our ranks, but to come on this level we need a hangar of them to use DMC at maximum capacity. I'll think about expanding the trade department with mining works, to cover all bureaucracy under the same roof. At this moment consider yourself responsible for mining operations since now. I don't need you to spill your resources on Delta Mining Corporation or any other possible mining location. Assign proper persons to keep place running, though make sure your assignments would be wise choices. As for the Regan… I hope you made him clear what would be with him if he wouldn't be able to meet our standards in doing business with people, make bargains. I don't want this place to run some barbarian or different sort of unlawful, looking only for its own profit seeking through loopholes. Another question is keep myself restless of its proximity to the Core assets. I don't need to explain to you what their reputation is within our ranks. Consider asking Alec to advance defensive capabilities for DMC, several Fearless destroyers and several fighter and bomber wings, you got my blessing.
As for your concern of Taccota Industries, you are free in the action. Our cooperation with them worked well on a mutual basis; but with the acquisition of DMC storage complex it has lost its importance. Nevertheless, it does not mean we shouldn’t ignore each other for now, that’s not how fellow Zoner neighbors behave. Contact them and ask if they are in need of something, their review one side relationship is very questionable, you are free to contact them to see what’s going on within the TIC.
I’ve been deployed to the Taus per your request. We had been escorted to the Freeport 10 and already enroute to the Tromelin. I’ve took Maik to accompany me, he never been in the Taus sector pretty much as any other Rheinlanders. So win win, I hate flying alone.
I believe we almost finished the required amount of the contract, several more shipments left. We will have to make a stop on the Ten for minor servicing of the Apamea and Ratotaskr, also some rest for our crew won’t do a harm, that was a quite long trip for a detached duty.
Omicron Zeta seems to be stabilized. I got reports about the situation with the Palmyra and the Kadesh, planet circular orbit seems to be stable, although some stabilization of the colony is required. Colony automatic subsystems managed to shied from asteroids, probably their unusual behavior caused planet gravity. It seems for now due to lack of any fuel to get back into safe orbit Kadesh was attracted by the sun. So it's time for an action, before something worse would happen with the colony. Alec, command our warships to escort the corefleet from Omicron Mu straight to Palmyra. Dirk, unseal the colony and make sure the installation would have sufficient fuel to bring it back into a stable and circular orbit of the planet.
Also I would like to share with you news. Charles Burns, old friend of mine, had been appointed as representative of the Construction and Development department. At this moment he will be mostly occupied with scheduled repair and construction works on the Kadesh, but also will be responsible for construction of Orontes settlement and ensuring steady construction and operation of DMC storage complex, servicing and construction of our fleet.
Good luck in your new position Charles, I hope you will met our requirements. Although I understand our construction capabilities is very limited, we hold a deck on the Kadesh for snub craft ship construction. Any other, more complex works are to be done in open space. Though that should be not a news for you, especially after Great Voyage. We cannot yet afford any scaffold or a shipyard installation at this time, but I hope it'll be changed someday. Its question of funding.
Confirm course has been set Christian. Core fleet is en route back to Kadesh on full speed. I have instructed some of the ships to provide assistance once moored back at colony, my engineers and heavy lifters are at your disposal if needed Dirk.
Thank you for that Alec. I am sure to be making use of them. As far as Kadesh Orbital is concerned, the station is fully fueled with several tankers full of H-Fuel on stand-by. The living areas on station itself are being re-pressurized and prepped for habitation once again.
As far as funding goes Christian, Delta Mining Corp. stands full of ore ready for shipment. I am directing all available trade vessels not currently engaged with Kadesh operations to immediately begin transport of this material. Hopefully this will bolster our coffers back to where they were before the Great Journey.
In regards to DMC Alec, I am making an official request unto you for additional security at the facility. We have had a couple of incidents where seemingly rouge ships have fired randomly at the station. One of these turned out to be a Core built destroyer, which I am relieved to say rabbited once challenged by the Cressida, which makes up most of the defense forces currently protecting the base. We will need some smaller ships and snub craft for interdiction and at least one Aquilion in Delta to act as a command ship. The base has been opened back up for public sales of ore, and while I don't put much worry into random ships making us raise our shields every so often, I want to make certain everyone knows this is not the station to mess with. For the concerns that Christian has raised in his last message, DMC is our best shot right now at financial independence and success in our shipbuilding strategy.
On a lighter note, its great to see ol' Burnsy back in the saddle with us. Its been too long friend, and I expect to be working closely with you in your new role in Phoenix. Please don't hesitate to discuss your plans with me as co-ordination with the Trade Dept. will always be key in any construction endeavors we undertake.
as you may have noticed me already running arround on Kadesh for a couple of days now, trying to give a hand where needed.
Aside from the things my old friend Christian probably told you about me, it's about time to give you a short introduction about myself.
My name is Charles Burns, former commander of the Nephilim-class homeship Thanatos. After supervising the ships population disembark to Kadesh, I transferred the Thanatos into hands of the Security Department. Together we implemented measures to reinforce the ships defensive means, now being suited very well for the deployment in it's new role. Completing those tasks left me in an uncomfortable situation, kind of idling arround on Kadesh. Christian decided there is no need to waste any talents, thus promoting me as representative of the Construction and Development department.
I suggest we soon should hold a meeting, for example at Kadesh or any other location that may fit the purpose. I will need your input to get an overall perspective of the whole situation and we need to talk about coordinating and carrying out future actions. Probably each department should send at least one representative.
Now I got to get back to my desk, a lot of work is awaiting me. I'll keep you updated.
I believe you had enough time to get into the subject of current Kadesh status. Can you brief me, what it does need? I remember that we had scheduled works of deconstruction factories to expand living quarters for Kadesh habitants. But, as you’re leading the Construction department it could be counterproductive. We still haven’t any production complex or shipyard on our own and it's unlikely to change in the near future. Share your thoughts on this matter. Perhaps another extension of the colony could solve very limited space. At least for some time, I hope we will able to resume our works on Palmyra surface very soon.
Kadesh status is, well .. packed with colonists. The station is stabilized for now and further deconstruction of our factory assets is halted. Although sheltering those people is one of our main goals at the moment, we still should take any means to reassure our construction capacities are capable of fulfilling our other objectives. Completely deconstructing all of our factory assets could give us some more space for the colonists. To solve this problem and keep up our construction capabilities, there will be only one solution:
We will need to expand Kadesh and we should start with that immediately. A lot of new living area for all these people will be built. The construction capacity will increase to it's previous level and we also will be able extend those capacities.
It is mandatory to involve further departments at this point of time. Christian, please contact the security department and have them analize what ressources we would need to expand Kadesh's current defensive measures.
As for the trade department, I am going to contact them directly and ask them to come up with a plan to deliver the commodities we need for the expansion. First analysis of the matter shown we will need at least the following:
Hull Segments (40,000 units)
Industrial Hardware (100,000 units)
Robotic Hardware (40,000 units)
Reinforced Alloy (40,000 units)
High Performance Alloy (40,000 units)
Optronic Arrays (40,000 units)
Heat Sinks (40,000 units)
Plasfoam Conduits (20,000 units)
Nanomembrane Filters (20,000 units)
Probably we will have to expand the list, but those goods are the minimum we need to start the project.
