Halpert's report of the Baffin system has left me quite curious. Decided to check it out for myself and look around for a suitable position whilst Halpert communicates with the local zoners. All of a sudden an alien decides to intercept and... have a chat with me. They seem to know about us already and have said that they wish to protect us from whatever is happening in Kepler. Something to do with those spikey things located 20ks away from home. This alien, Eris they call themselves, started powering up something, and soon I realised it was a rift-generator of sorts. To convince me that they weren't hostile outside of Baffin, they pulled me into their jump and landed me in an unknown sector... their home. They tell me I'm a guest, but I know nothing about them. I jumped home shortly after... what a day.

Umm... My name is Muliah Taana.
I am new to the Starfliers and this is my first flight as a member. I was told to collect a Starflier transport from the Cortez system and deliver its cargo.
Thankfully, this is a line of work that I am familiar with. The cargo was Pristine Ice, something I have never heard of before. I wasn't told where to sell the cargo, so I checked the neural net. The only place name I recognised with an open contract for the cargo was Sigma-13's Newport Station.
However, the Neural Net listed Planet Amiens in Picardy and Planet Nauru in Omicron Delta as offering better prices.
I know that the Starfliers are about finding new things, so I decided to take a risk and try going to one of those... Plus I was warned to avoid the Sigmas.
I looked in the Novae's navigation computer and saw that Picardy was in there. Someone has previously flown the ship out that way, but I couldn't find any of the Omicrons on the computer. Since I don't even have a lead on how to get there, I figure I'm going to Picardy.
When I get back to the base in Kepler, I'll study some of their star maps and see what I can learn.
Unfortunately, it seems I made an oversight. I have never been to Gallia before and didn't know what to bring back as my return cargo. Thankfully, a kind trader from GMS was around to give me some advice and directions.
While I carefully monitored the H-fuel reserves, flying empty is a huge fuel saving, I managed to take a look at Orleanais and add it to the Nav-Computer of the Novae. Though I couldn't explore the whole system, transports aren't that efficient, I did manage to get all the trade lanes.
I later found H-Fuel was avaliable on Planet New Paris (which is now in the Novae's Nav-Computer) but it's at an absolute premium out here. The "good cargo" for New Berlin that the GMS trader mentioned was "Tawny Port". I ended up carrying the Military Salvage he suggested though, especially after I saw it wasn't guns, but rather old circuit boards and damaged hull panels.
The rest of the trip went smoothly and I returned the transport to Cortez without incident.

As some of you know, Starflier Base has been busy creating what Albert calls "Starflier Network Beacons." These items will help us create a rift network within Sirius, for the NX-01 and other ships to use. The idea behind this is to make a profit creating and selling them, but to also have a system that the Starfliers have created be set up within Sirius. This is a high profile project, more of these SNBs we sell, the better the network becomes!
In other news: We have a few Albatross-Class transports sitting in the docking bay. After reviewing our assets and thinking about what this group is about, I have decided to abandon these ships. The technicians will turn them into spare parts for our own ships. I know for a fact that Rex will not be happy, however there are other ventures we can all pursue to learn more about the place we live in
Our time and money will be directed towards these new Corvo-Class ships and to supply new pilots with personalised leased light fighters.
The Order... I don't know too much about them. They're very much against the Nomads, wanting to eradicate them. Knowing as much as I do about them, they can do all they wish against the newer breeds. The ones before, the variant I'm familiar with, I'll keep my relationship with them quiet. Don't want to attract any unwanted attention. After this conversation with an Order pilot, I may need to get permission to fly around in their space. The Omicron system I found myself in looks to be quite established. Since we moved out of the Kepler System to Omega-3, my curiosity of the Border Worlds took me to the Omega-48 system. There, in orbit of Gran Canaria, I met a Zoner flying a Nephilim-Class Colony Ship. That ship overshadowed my Bustard's in size. The captain of this ship, Zane, explained a brief history of his ship. This got me to talk about my history with my own vessel, and how my company was born. Reliving old memories was nice, this lead me to showing what a blind jump was to Zane. I initiated an unguided rift-leap and disappeared. Though, I am not ready to talk about where I ended up just yet...

I was mapping Omega-7 when I received a general broadcast for Starfliers to assemble in Liberty. Putting aside my charting I made my way to New York. Unfortunately I had some engine damage received from mapping a cloud of volatile gases. By the time I reached Liberty, whatever event was supposed to happen, was over.
Mr. Halpert contacted me to warn me not to return to the Starflier Base, so I went to meet up with him in Coronado, he had found an escorted convoy that was headed into the Omicrons. Remembering my prior fascination with how to reach the Omicrons, I decided to tag along for the ride.
Mr Halpert seems to be a little grumpy, but he's sweet. He grumbled a bit about everything, but never hesitated to answer any questions that I had. He reminds me of my Ojii-san before he passed away.
The convoy consisted of multiple Freelancers being escorted by a Bounty Hunter.
Everyone was friendly, though the NHI ship "Ye Donkey" was piloted by someone who sounded a bit crude and possibly not all there in the brains department.
We were taken through to the Virginia System where I saw the largest and most impressive Jumpgate I have ever seen. Everything was marked as "restricted" but no-one seemed bothered by this fact. I attempted to take a picture with my charting camera... Only to find out that my camera was broken. Probably in the same explosion that damaged my engines in Omega-7. Halpi...err Mr Halpert had to quickly leave due to an urgent reason, but I continued on with the convoy.
Disappointed, but intent on seeing this ride through to the end, I followed everyone through the jumpgate and found a really beautiful system. Apparently called Omicron-Nu, giant green nebula pillars dominated the scenery. The system has a bright star, gas giants and pretty asteroid fields. As I followed the convoy I saw a small station, but the convoy members claimed it was just a rest-stop.
The next system was called Omicron-Minor. It was as claustrophobic and oppressive as Nu was open and impressive. Everything was in a thick green cloud of dust and asteroids that was hard to see through. There were no points of reference or directions to be made out, yet people still knew where they were going. Entering into an automated formation with Ye Donkey, tried to make sense of this system, but instead was told about scary purple aliens that live in the area and attack unwary ships.
Little did I know that they weren't ghost stories...
In the next system, Omicron-Zeta, I was again greeted by a beautiful scenery, this time purple. No sign of the oppressive green cloud could be seen. No sooner had I passed through the gate, than I was greeted by an unfamiliar ship signal. A strange nearly translucent purple vessel was performing graceful curves and circling maneuvers around the convoy. The Bounty Hunter was keen to go into battle stations, but the purple ship did not attack us. The convoy allowed me to go up close and scan the ship, which didn't work... Same problem as the camera.
I was told that this graceful and almost beautiful ship was one of the mysterious "nomad". I was told it was only a baby, which is why it did not attack, but that they are horrifying and aggressive normally. This ship allowed me to get close and examine it without attacking, but did not respond to any attempts at communication.
Returning to the convoy, I followed them through this beautiful purple space and into another drastic contrast, Omicron Delta. The system is surrounded by darkness, like it is the opposite of Omicron Zeta. The local star demonstrated that there was no dust or visual obstruction. Just that we were in a giant tunnel through a dark nebula. A quick calculation made me realise, this tunnel's width could be measured in light-years, therefore length was unfathomable. The tunnel is perfectly straight, which means either nature is really freaky or something so powerful it is mind numbing had made the tunnel.
I somewhat in shock by now I followed the convoy to Planet Nauru. At this point they started talking about a return trip. I decided that I would stop here at the planet. The Core, who own the planet, possess the technology to repair my survey equipment. This would allow me to once again take pictures, calculate coordinates and record my journey in a manner more fitting than mere words. I also figured that I could use the time to wait for Halpie... Umm... Mr Halpert to catch up.
