Balance is tricky at best. The scope of parameters being compared and how they're put together for the whole picture varies from person to person too. It's more easier to pass the opinion when there is actual material and you're testing it, not assuming the outcome, since we often likely to base it from our personal experience and recreating "what-if" scenarios based on them. Regardless of proposals being made they will be rough until they get tested thoroughly and finding corers that needs to be smoothed to make it all round balanced. My point is that it will change over time through betas regardless adjusting to the found issues. I predict it'll be hard time and lots of unnecessary things will probably be said, but that's what it has to go through.
Connor's list looks interesting. I wonder though how we gonna test all those variants there.
May I purpose something else about the supernovas :
This is one of the best weapon, for each of factions.
Each of them may be heavily guarded by the guards of their respective faction.
I purpose to make sell them in all guard station and ONLY in them, except the standard one (who may not be remove to avoid a wipe) who could be sold in main planets (Manhattan, New London, New Berlin, New Tokyo, Malte, Crete) or always the same places.
In addition, this weapon may need a minimal reputation to be bought (0 at least, if I'm not wrong, its a neutral reputation). For the guards, it mean you need more than a bribe to buy them.
And about the Supernovas. The first listed in this topics are well except the nomad one.
I've read only a few of the last answers so I'll simply say how I'm seeing the Nomad Supernova :
Damages : around 160 000 / 80 000 (hull/shield) maybe more. in the long freelancer's intro, you may see it's destroying a star, we may follow this way of powerful weapons
Range : around 2.5k same reason
Projectile speed : 250, maybe down to lower ! I don't have any reason except it may be in this way to balance between the other Supernovas
Power consumption : 42 000 up to 45 000 Respecting the intro, its a decisive weapon who have to be fully charged.
I like McNeo's proposal, with one exception.
I think Outcast one shouldn't be like that.
It's a 48k bomber, it makes no sense to use that powerful, but still very strong SN.
I would support that, but it's also very energy efficient, very close to Corsair one.
Also, with that high energy consumption, Falcata will be unable to fire Inferno and SN right after.
Oh, one more thing. I would like to see Kusari SN speed decreased.
Both Catamarans are already fighter killers, no need to support it further.
Dragon one looks nice, I'd make a Kusari one close to it, with maybe 275-280 speed.

1 out of 2 red catamarans mounts krakens and infernos - how many red catamarans do you expect to stick with the BD version and not mount the outcast version cause they are so good buddies? - in the end, you win all along, faster projectile and much more damage - and well, it can still fire it. - keep in mind, people simply do not stick to their weapons. - you can say "but its a faction SN!" - but who will care..... - daitos are faction weapons, too.
anyway - don t you think you wanne tune them all down a few ten thousand damage? - or do you wanne scale bombers up by 30% in size and hitbox to compensate for a weaponpower increase of sometimes 30%
Edits done, slightly changed Kusari and Outcast ones.
I based what they should have mostly off their guns as I said, Outcasts have pretty efficient high damage guns while Corsairs have more efficient less damage guns, for example. Though, I did change parts like Liberty, their guns are sub par but their SN is midrange in all aspects.
EDIT: Blood Dragon SN would do more damage over time, more or less 10k energy difference over the Outcast one, and considering the plant, it would be better tactically to mount the BD SN anyway on a BD bomber....
sorry, picking those, cause BHG concerns me - and i haven t really cared much for the others. - 21.000 less damage but 1ms faster and 200 more range at 2000 less energy. - imo, the speed is too great on the outcast one or the damage too high. both use the small bombers ( falcata / BHG bomber ) - 21k damage is still 1/6 more damaging for only slightly more energy and a little more range ( 200 isn t much for a bomber ) - the projectile speed is the same - 1ms is nothing.
edit: i hate you - you edited your stats while i was writing it =D - now the range does make a difference...
On a slightly different note: I propose the current supernova be modified into the proposed Zoner one, so that in 4.85 every bomber by default has that one. It will make far more sense than having two Order SNs.

The buckshot really pays the price for the tiny extra speed boost it gets over the Kracken, considering both are particle weapons. Also, the Bounty hunters will be going against all of the SNs, not just the Outcasts. If you consider that more often then not the bounty hunters are shooting rogues, hessians and corsairs over outcasts, then it might be a balanced.
Still, you have a valid point and I will decrease the speed on the outcast one by about 5~ ms:)
@Blodo: you mean the SN now modified with the proposed stats and made the Zoner one, or just made the Zoner one with the stats it has now?
There should be a GMG SN there somewhere also, since they are one of the first to actually develop a bomber.
Taiidan bomber is their logo, and it makes little sense for them to use someone else's SN when they had a bomber before them.
Junkers probably as well, since they have a Waran to fly. And I can see them mounting Rogue one already.
What about other factions which use BW line? They will fly Falcata and shoot what?
For example, Bundies, LWB, Hackers (these should develop their own, as they are science geniuses).
They will all probably use the Outcast one, which just isn't good.
I also hope Liberty is going to get a normal bomber, or at least change the Havoc model.
It's ugly, it sucks in PVP, and it fits FL as much as Marsflier.
Also, it would be nice if Bombers are purchased with Supernova antimatter cannon mounted, so it can't be unmounted.
That way no one would be able to use other factions SN.
As Jinx said, people tend to develop various RP reasons to use better stuff.
