Leon Vicci, Starfliers To: Representatives, Omicron Supply Industries Subject: High-Cargo Flight Training
Good day there.
I have a rather unusual request, one that I find myself making a second time. I am very much hoping that your teams can help out the Starfliers in this regard.
What I am after is to organize Flight Training for all of my pilots, have them be comfortable handling ships of higher cargo capacities. We need the extra headroom to keep up with our stations upkeep and handling smaller vessels is leading to a few of us being burnt out. To my knowledge, your teams operate "Whale"-Class transports, and I imagine the flight time on those is in the thousands of hours.
With the familiarity of flying these vessels, my request is to have your teams instruct and train us to use ships around the 3,400 cargo line. If this comes down to simulation training, or hands on with one of your own, I am happy to book a time and cover any expenses. Please let me know if this would be possible.
Good Day to you Mr Vicci
Celcius Abonwood, CEO of Omicron Supply Industries.
I think I recall a similar request being made by the Starfliers in the past though I forget the outcome.
I think this would be something we can accommodate though it will require Board Approval.
I don't know where you operate when it comes to trade but I will warn before you embark on this training that the Whale in general isn't permitted to Dock within most House Space. If your looking to equip your fleet with Ships with the same cargo hold for house trading you would need to look elsewhere I'm afraid.
But if the Whales would be used for Edge and Neutral space then its something we can look into.
If you can let me know where you would intend to Fly the Whales then I can put this forward to my Directors.
Leon Vicci, Starfliers To: Celcius Abonwood, Omicron Supply Industries Subject: 3,400
Nice to meet you, Celcius.
I only mention the "Whale"-Class as it's the vessel your company is most familiar with, this is the main reason why we have come to you. I believe you may be well suited to teach others if your teams are very confident is your piloting skill with such a ship. We at the Starfliers are not interested in such a vessel.
To give us wider options to upgrade our "Albatross"-Class fleet, we are only asking to have training that would prepare us to fly ships up to 3,400 cargo space. At this time, the Starfliers have 13 pilots, if you require a specific number to book in a training suite.
My most heartfelt apologies Mr Vicci for the delay in my response.
The Situation that arose in Omicron Theta required my full attention though I am now free to resume normal Business.
I misunderstood what you required. You are wanting to give your pilots Experience flying larger transport ships under the tutorage of mine.
That can easily be arranged aboard Nichols Trade Centre and if needed I'm sure we can source an Albatross or two for practical learning along side simulations.
If not we can use Boarder World Transports as they have a Similar Cargo Size and handling as an Albatross.
Would you want all your Pilots trained at once? or as Smaller Groups at different times? Either can be accommodated it just gives me an idea of how many Pilots I would need to assign to this task.
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Celcius Abonwood, Omicron Supply Industries Subject: Training
Hello, Abonwood. My name is Albert McKenzie, I will be taking over this request as Leon has now resigned from the Starfliers.
We are in the process of finalizing a modular base expansion, this has put our duties and tasks on hold until this is completed. As of right now, we are able to send all our pilots to Nichols Trade Centre for training. Recently we have grown in our numbers somewhat. To future-proof this, I am happy to book in 20 seats in your training facility, to be trained simultaneously. This would mean that once they return, our station would be able to continue normal operations.
To: Albert McKenzie Subject: Training
Mr McKenzie
If you require 20 Seats, then I will ensure you have them. I would recommend A two day intensive course as it was stated your Pilots have been flying the Albatross, so it shouldn't be to difficult to upskill to a larger ship.
So What would occur is a Day of Classroom style teaching with the next day being practical learning aboard a Series DL Border Worlds Transport. If needed I can arrange overnight accommodation in Las Palmas for the students.
If I may be Segway this message almost selfishly. If you require OSI's services to assist with your base on top of the training, then I'm sure we could come to an arrangement.
Kind Regards
Celcius Abonwood
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Celcius Abonwood, Omicron Supply Industries Subject: Training
Hello, Abonwood.
Your plan to train my pilots sounds adequate I trust you know what you are doing to upskill anyone in efficient a timeframe as two days.
As your your services, we may be able to take on our own supply needs after our pilots are trained. If larger projects were to come around, I will keep your teams in mind for the extra assistance.
