OK, let's hold on a second. 350m/s SN? lolwut? Who came up with these projectile speeds? When an SN is almost as fast as a Razor, that's bad. The SN as of now is 280m/s, and I don't think it should go too much higher than 290, otherwise that's just ridiculous.
Remember folks, the faster the projectile speed, the easier it is to hit with it. The easier it is to hit, the more fighters start dying...
Bah, I would prefer for all the SNs that have been proposed to make into the mod. It's only natural that all the major factions in Sirius would have their own offshoots and not just the houses. It's harder to balance them in accordance to the ships of each faction as well.
As a consummate bomber whore I completely agree with Zap.
The supernova is already an exceptionally potent tool when utilized by a skillful pilot against a, er, either unskillful or unlucky adversary whilst jousting. Upping the speed into and past the 300s is a recipe for bad times.
I fervently believe that the supernova needs to be balanced first against gunboats, those being the targets bombers were initially designed to counter. True for many of the smaller ones such as the BH Gunboat and Liberty Gunboats you need to get in -close- to make your shots matter; but upping the speed to increase their ease of use really puts the bomber's not unreasonably protested anti-fighter potential up another notch.
I think the supernova is overpowered but it has to be I guess to be effective against caps. It definitely shouldn't be made faster it's effective enough and not really that hard to hit with.
I'm all for different factions getting their own versions as long as their all in similar ranges none should be uber compared to the others and it should be against the rules not to use the proper version for your faction then.
I used to hate supernovas in the last mod, I think either I've improved at dealing with them or they were fixed enough already.
Lane Hackers need their own one, and we can't push the projectile speeds too high.
