I've got a guide to spinfixing my way sorta-completed. It works on the server (yes, I've tried it and didn't get banned), and it's impossible to abuse. The only problem is that it puts the onus on the player to make work and is somewhat difficult to apply on a large scale. The best way I can think of implementing it en-masse would be if someone would write a simple program to edit constants.ini using a bunch of pre-set values. If someone could do that, it'd be REALLY easy to implement on a full scale.

Everyone in the cruiser balance chat will soon see the guide.

But isn't that cheating if you have it before everyone else...

I've posted several times exactly how to do it. One just has to look carefully. If you'd like, I can send you the little guide I wrote up too.

If it's cheating, something I don't believe it is as other than not spinning, no advantage can be gained, then so be it. I just consider it my attempt to get a working product before expecting it to be deployed.

This is actually the same thing i did. But in MP did you try it over LAN or Internet? Cuz i and captainpoo tried it via internet and it had no visible effect. But then that server was regular, it wasn't run by IONCROSS.

And Igiss, i have to agree with Jure here, i saw no problems anywhere with it, and when i play SP i always make my capship unspinable.

This is the basic method of stopping spinning as far as I'm aware. When I was testing various means for my own mod I was offered this as an option. An option that works SOME of the time that is.

Trust me when I say that if it was this simple to fix the problem entirely with no downsides at all, It'd be in Discovery already. I seriously doubt this is a miracle fix.

Well, if none of the mods/admins/powerbrokers here have a problem with it, I could post up my spinfix guide. It works on the server, albeit probably illegaly, and works perfectly. Multiplayer is a definite work, singleplayer... never actually tried.

Sometimes the simplest solutions really are the best. You just have to figure out what the solution is.

Well me and kacijon tried this in multiplayer, on a regular server ran by me. We booth used identical shiparch.ini files, and it worked for booth of us, If only I had the ini, kacijon would still see me as buncing around... when we booth had it, it worked.

Remember the number increasment needs to be really substantial, 10000x as much or even 100000x for this to work on realy large ships, it's pure physics... and all players need to have the fix...

it's not a client side thing... that one would fix and it would then work, it's a serverwide option that everyone has to have in order for it to work for everyone. Most importantly flserver will bann you for cheating if you use it on your own...

I am not sure why it didn't work for You and Captainpoo thou... what numbers did you use?

normal x 10 just does not cut it... try x 10000 I started to get usefull numbers at x 5000 as those were the NPC numbers, and setled for 10000 as it makes moding very easy....

//i'll add you to xfire, when It get's online...
