A question about the "unique charecters topic"

Now , I've read some of the stories about unusual charecters and I liked quite alot of them , but I wanna ask something.

If someone has discussed his roleplay with the factions wich ships he'll use , weapons he'll use , ID , tag and so on. If they agree and support his roleplay and he has writen a story about in the forums and posted his charecter in the Role-Playing charecters topic. Does he/she need anything else to start RPing the way he/she has discribed ? Or is that enough and he can emply his RP in the game ?

Well.....Depending on if your load out is "OoRP" you would have to post in the Special Characters forum. What I mean by that is like....a Corsair ship with outcast weapons and things like that. Otherwise you can start RPing right away

You should wait for approval by the Admin's, as that means we've seen it agreed to it, and can throw out any violation reports related to it, should they cross our boards. Although having the Special request without approval will allow us to read it. If you get reported before approval I think you can guess how we'll react to it should we decide not to approve it.

i guess its a bit like RL. you can make as much noise as you like when you re having a party. - you will never get into trouble..... untill someone complains. so - you can either make sure that EVERYONE is invited so no one can complain. - or you make a deal with the police ( admins ) so that ... IF someone complains... he is told that you are officially allowed to make some noise that night.

so - basicly, when the whole server knows and approves your special roleplay, i don t think admin approval is needed, as no one would complain about it - hence, no report is written cause no RP disruption happens ( unless the admins fill in the report on their own accord ) - but as long as only one single person is around that does not approve it, you d need the admin pass, cause this one person might report you. - and it does not need to be a member of the factions you have talked to - but it might also be a random lowlevel trader in a freighter that feels annoyed by something .

Approval

Approval takes one week (7 days) from the moment when the thread is posted and made visible (approved by moderator). All threads are pre-moderated to prevent obviously incomplete/irrelevant threads from appearing. Posts (comments) in those threads are not pre-moderated.

During approval, players who have concerns about certain setup might voice their doubts. I recommend not to post anything unless you have important reasons to. I also recommend not to interfere when the characters has nothing in common with the faction(s) you are involved with, and when you know nothing about the player who posts the request.

Please DO NOT post approvals ("Yes it's OK with me" in any form). Only administrators should do such thing.

If no motivated negative posts are seen after 7 days, the character is automatically considered to be approved. If there are such posts, administrator may delay approval until everything is fixed, or make the thread invisible (disapprove). If none of the administrators interfere due to lack of time within the specified time limit, character's author is advised to contact any of the server admins and remind about the request.

Note that 7 days last since the day when thread was made visible by moderator, not from the day when it was posted. Moderator approval should be relatively fast.

Server administrators may post their approval earlier than in 7 days.

If the player does not follow requirements posted in his/her own thread, violates server rules, or abuses his/her new status, the approval is revoked, and the thread made invisible again.

just thought id point that out.

maybe you admins should discuss various things Igiss has written as "rule". Either you and Fellow H. are wrong or Igiss made quite a few mistakes while writing that.

Hardly contradicts my point Balthazzar, yes 7 days after the thread is posted, if we haven't said no it is considered approved, but bear in mind we can rescind that approval for sufficient reason. And Hoodlum is quite correct about the Terrorist ID, You folks can discuss that as much as you like, but that ID is Admin issued and we'll still take as much time as we need to come to a decision about whether or not you're getting it.

Since my charecters requires that ID , I guess I'll just have to continue the roll play.

How do you know if someone is getting the Terro ID ? I mean , if it's only given via admin aproval , how are you to know if my RP in game (wich if I'm not mistaken is much more important then the forum RP) is acceptable if have never met me , nor RP'ed with me ? There is nothing regarding that question posted.

Id have to agree with that, I know of the difficulties concerning the Terorrist ID. It's only given to those that the Admins find "worthy" and should take longer then 7 days, depending on the person. I didnt get this when Hoodlum first posted his comment in my request, but i did soon after.

And im not agreeing with Del cause im requesting one for myself, but cause i understand their concerns.

I was wondering that aswell, since my terrorist ID request character havent even left manhattan yet. ^^

The fact is, kiddies, that there's only six Terrorist IDs floating around, and since standards are so very high, its quite unlikely that you'll get it. By all means try, but dont put all your eggs in that one basket. If its gunboat-size or smaller, a pirate ID could suffice so you can practice your RP, at least.

First off; Kiddies? -Raises an eyebrow at Zapp- Alright, I think I know what you mean by that;)

Anyhow, I as a roleplayer try my best on this server (and forum) to bring a high standard of roleplay, I belive that I do that anyway. And I know it wont be easy or even slightly possible to obtain one, but I am confident in my abilities when it come to Roleplay, that I can add something to Disco and to it's roleplaying community, if im only given the chance.

Anyhow, only thing one can do is to hope.

And Zapp, I know that your just saying this cause you dont want us to get all mad when we dont get it, but some us do like to have faith;)
