Evening all,
In the past standard operating procedure was to place a bounty on smugglers who failed to co operate with requests to hand over contraband or who failed to pay a fine. This list looks like an awful lot of paperwork for the average constable in his Hussar. Plus a general charge of "smuggling" won't hold up in a Bretonian court. Previous policies on contraband had different fines for different types of illicit cargo. Are we changing our policy?

Evening all,
The thing is in recent times the bounty board has been unattended to. When you follow the link from the Bretonian Charter of Interstellar you end up at this comn system. But if you know where the Bounty Board is you will find that the board hasn't been updated in quite a while. Also are we changing our policy ?? The laws are very confusing and sometimes all the report held was Smuggling. No info no nothing. The reason I had some much time is that I was grounded on Planet Cambridge for 4 days just sitting at our office there (// I lost my account with BPA on it). It is not meant to be used as a court record but a record of those high profile smugglers to target them more. E.g Scanners pick up 2 ships 10k away different directions you would place higher priority on a past smuggler. If it is completely useless I will just remove it.
Regards

Subject: Transport of Deuterium
Greetings.
My name is Jeff Phelps, the CEO of AP Manufacturing.
Our company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the S/D Agency, a duly licensed and registered bounty hunter organization with deep Bretonian ties.
AP Manufacturing is a diversified heavy industrial company specialising in shipbuilding, ship breaking, station construction, modular construction, civil and military engineering, renewables and project management, and is the exclusive supplier of vessels to the Bounty Hunters' Guild.
Due to the nature of our corporate relationship with the S/D Agency and thusly the Bounty Hunters Guild, we are in a position to provide transportation of materials needed by Bretonian manufacturing corporations and shipyards that are not available in Bretonian space and that would normally not be carried in regular shipping bottoms, primarily due to insurance requirements of those carriers which we as a self-insured shipper are not subject.
As part of our mission to supply the Bounty Hunters Guild with ships and supplies, we have uncovered a need that we require your permission to fulfill, and we would be willing to pay an appropriate licensing fee for this permission if granted.
Our ships and stations that are in Bretonian space have, of course, no shortage of deuterium for operations against pirates and enemies of the Bretonian government. The S/D Agency always has and always will support Bretonian interests, especially against Kusari incursions into Bretonian space. However, in our ongoing operations in Sirius space in general, we have noted that secure deuterium stores at Deshima Station are reaching critical levels.
While it is possible to ship this product there from other Zoner bases to maintain daily operational levels of the Bounty Hunters Guild, we would prefer to open a route from the base at Gran Canaria, transshipping through Bretonian space, in order to support bounty hunter activities. In addition, due to connections that we have on Deshima Station with Kishiro Technologies, we are able to secure Optronics that Cambridge and New London need, which we would be able to bring back to Bretonia.
At this time, we have reached an agreement with the Bretonian Armed Forces whereby we will pay them an amount of 250,000 Sirius Credits FOB Deshima Station from Gran Canaria per shipload of deuterium trans-shipped through Bretonian space. We will pay a like amount per ship to the BPA, under the same terms of this agreement. If this is acceptable to the BPA, please advise me on where to remit payment.
Thank you for your cooperation, and I await your reply.

The Bounty Board is located here. I will assume management of it and arrange payments etc. as I have been doing until this point. I am at present unable to add bounties directly to the board.

A sound proposal, Mr. Phelps. This will certainly aid the BPA and Bretonia in general and finance the CCD's other endeavours.
Please make the payment of 250 000 credits per shipment of Deuterium to the BPA)Carapace

Greetings
Today I met up with Sergent Shaun Roxburg and patrolled around Bretonia. Not many troubles, we had one trader go through Poole. We informed him it was a restricted system and he went on his way. Later after Roxburg had to retire a coariser was spoted in Cambrige I moved to engale him and was destroyed.
I fear I must go back to dog fighting tranning to improve my skills

Today I met up with Sergent Shaun Roxburg but he had to leave shortly. Constable Roy Brown I ask that "Xmalhautl" be added to the bounty board for smuggling light arms into Kusari. Witnessed by a member of the Baf, a Bowex escort and myself.

Subject: Bounty system in Bretonia
The problems with updating the bounty channel have been fixed, and a new updated network is up and running, which takes into account the recent upsurge in Molly terrorist acts.
I will administer the Board on a permanent basis.
Xmalhautl and BadWolf have been added to the list for their nefarious activities.
Our policy on interdicting contraband in the past is best summarised by the following:
Quote:Sir,
We appreciate the work any bounty hunter, mercenary or freelancer does in our place, meaning the disabling of enemy targets.
Still, the Bretonia Police Authority as the official policing force within Her Majesty's space does have certain privileges. One of these privileges is the supervision and control of trade traffic within Bretonia, including smuggled freight.
In short, contraband control is a job for the BPA. The Bounty Hunters Guild is acknowledged and accepted for their work of dispatching criminal and enemy craft, but the BHG is not the police.
Should you encounter a smuggler, call your local BPA officer and try to hold the suspect in place, with words.
In case of no constable being available, we'd appreciate a report on the NSY Communication Frequencies, informing us about the incident. With the necessary visual proof provided, we will then file a bounty on the smuggler, allowing any hunter to take him down.
Yours,
Joshua Cooper
BPA Commissioner and Chief Constable
While Commissioner Cooper is presently very ill, I have consulted our former retired Commissioner Sir Alan Lauderdale on the problems facing the Authority with the black market trade through Bretonian territory. While this policy is being reviewed given the scale of the problem, I see no reason to deviate from Commissioner Cooper's stated policy yet.

Well, sir, I can hardly believe it! A vile crew of mutinous Molly dipsomaniacs attempted to seize control of the Carapace this evening as I proceeded to Leeds.
The ringleader was a known Republican terrorist with the grammatically unsound name of Michael Carruth. I believe he was once a boxer in his youth but I digress. The others have been identified as one George Alveiro and one Colin O'Duffy.
We engaged cruise and left them in our wake. A bounty hunter happened along and assisted my escape, although I fear Dan "The Hammer" Blake may have come a cropper facing odds of three to one.
I dread to think of the unhygienic mess they would have left on my fine craft had they seized control of it.
The Carapace took some scratches on the paint work and the crew are a little shook but all in all we are in fine spirits.

It's good to be back chaps! Mr. Brown, you've made it up the ranks after all, I knew it, well done matey! Christy's tea and fine breads are still as good as ever. I might just stop by there after this extremely boring report...
My patrol started in Edinbourgh where everything was fine, no contacts. I then moved to Leeds where a few traders were supporting our great economy. This patrol continued to New London where I met up with some transports and possible recruits. I then met up with a bounty hunter and checked L...Leeds...once more...the patrol....con..tinued...
