Freeport 11 laws
Omicron-delta is a remote system far, far away from any easy supplies. those that chose it as their home rely on both, a steady supply from the core or from other stations and a good understanding with their neighbors.
Furthermore, the station is used as the omicron base of operations for the bounty hunters fleet and as a place to study the ever increasing nomad activity with the long range sensor array near the minor jumphole.
To ensure at least the minimum of safety, zoners have installed the following laws to enable the station to welcome any visitor as a guest.
-Firearms are to be locked away before setting foot on the station, no personal fights or brawls are allowed and will result in the immediate disband of the culprits. They will politely be escorted to their ships.
-If any ship holds prisoners, the crew is *advised* to release those in the process of staying on the station. however, we understand the special affairs of the order, so the order is not asked to release their prisoners, cause we are certain that they are treated in a humane way. all other ships should release the hostages, as it could cause uproar with all the different factions we have on the station.
-Nomad samples have to be held in special security containers and should be left on the ships. we try not to contaminate the station with such samples. if samples are found floating in space near the station, they are to be tractored and either destroyed or secured for further processing.
-Due to the heavy damage inflicted in the past to the station, - a safety zone was installed. its radius measures 5000 clicks and we do not tolerate any hostile actions within this radius. especially warship guns must not be fired within this area, as accidental shots can just so easily damage the stations hull or endanger our convoys, which are vital for the stations survival.
-A high security defense perimeter was installed which measures 4000 clicks ( scanner range ). If any enemy of the zoners enters this zone, it can be engaged, but should the enemy retreat, - it should not be chased unless the destruction of this enemy is certain. Defense is our mission, not offense.
When is the law of the safety zone void?
-Any ship is allowed to act in self defense when fired upon ( no need for a 50% shield drain rule if someone fires on another ship, the other ship can defend itself no matter how much damage was done [within the official rules, naturally] )
-If any hostile act was commited earlier the safety zone can be ignored. we do provide a safety zone for peaceful visitors, but we do not enforce a shelter for wartorn vessels that will cause a siege on the station! however, we do ask the participants not to target any civilian vessel or any vessel that is not participating in that combat. Of course firing on the station when an enemy vessel has docked with the mooring fixture is not allowed and will not be tolerated.
-A hostile act is an act of warfare for that matter ( in terms of RP, it should be some serious offence that endangers the faction. a simple taunt will not do it, please )
What steps will the zoners take if these laws are ignored?
-Those that violate the laws are being warned, in serious cases ( when they fire on the station or civilians ) docking rights are taken from this vessel until reparations are payed.
- If a faction violates the laws, it will be taken before the faction leaders to discuss the matter and possibly before the council in case it is a serious breach of the zoners neutrality.
- If the violating ship is not part of a faction, a bounty might be placed on the culprits head and docking rights might be taken away from the person for a reasonable time. ( only concerns this Freeport ) in any case, the council will be informed about this individuals actions.
- If weaponfire is directed at the station and if zoners are targeted intentionally as a hostile act, we will strike back with whatever force is required to repell or destroy the attacker.
All in all it is preferred to solve problems in a diplomatic way. should the violation happen repeatedly and should there be an utter disrespect of the laws though, the council will decide to deny a whole group the rights to dock with the station, and maybe other stations, too depending on the severity of the violation and the number of them.
the influence of the zoners ends 5k from the station at which point zoners provide no protection, nor have any reason to take up any side - in other words, a anthing outside the 5k is a free game for everyone.
thank you for your attention, Elizabeth "Jinx" Tate."
Hermanos, I bring sad news. Today, a Corsair gunboat named [ST-GmbH]-FiNo all but attacked me, telling me to leave Cambridge as I had apparently pirated a friend of his (though not bearing any markings by transponder or IFF). As the BPA and Mandalorians engaged me, all he had to give to the battle was a passing missile salvo aimed at me. Such treachery, along with the fact that he himself was flying DSE colors should be enough to see that something most unpleasant happens for this treacherous action.
Hermano this is indeed disturbing news. You have our full support in tracking down this traitor, if you need anything from us don't hesitate to ask, and if he comes across our scanners, he will meet a painful death.

RE: Invoice TLH - 12250088
Could you please check your delivery hours? I was at your facility delivering the above invoiced cargo, and there was no one available to assist with unloading. The security guard signed my paperwork, but he said that my crew and I would have to unload the ship ourselves. It's certainly one thing to take the risks in delivering a cargo - it's quite another to have to actually unload all 3,475 cases ourselves, even with modern warehouse equipment. When delivering parts to the Tripoli shipyard, they've always had a crew to unload the parts I deliver. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My family is NOT a laughing stock. I freely admit that I've not been ... choosy, shall we say ... with whom I associate. The Villa Rock family has roots that date back to before the founding. We, our extended clan in-laws the Eladesors, and even our clan cousins the Virgos from Bretonia, have family trees that go back hundreds of years.
Okay, he was a Zoner. But he had a cute butt, and guys, you all need to face it. With the amount of time we as a people have spent in space, in Omega 41, and out digging up artifacts - well, let's just say that a lot of you guys just ain't no Anthony Bandana.
And he didn't try to run away with me - he just took things a little too seriously and thought we ought to get hitched while I was laid over - no pun intended - at Freeport 1 enjoying some R&R.
Okay, I know I'm no Katey Zeta, either, but a girl has to have SOME standards. Alcohol and flowers do still work, you know.
Still, I don't appreciate it. I pay my bills when my ship lifts. And while there've been a couple of you that have lifted my ship for me <smiles and shakes my head> is that ANY reason to say these sorts of things? I know one of you Benitez boys said I couldn't join the brotherhood because I'm - well, not a brother. Even though I shot better than you.
Be that as it may. If someone makes fun of me and mine, I don't have to wait for my brother-in-law (see, you couldn't even get THAT part of it right) to come back - I'll kill the rascal myself.

Subject: SCRA Ares
Hola Gentlemen.
Something very interesting happened tonight that id like to share. While on Patrol in Gamma One RAB-Ares contacted me via secure comms about requiring permission to crash land on Crete. He said he had valuable information on the 101st and the Keepers. The SCRA as you know are hostile to all Corsairs. Old allies.
Since the info might be of use to us, I sent him cords for crash landing at a remote island a few clicks off the coast of the mainland where a Armed escort will will take him to meet someone to share the information in return for a safe passage back to Omega 52. They may be hostile but info like that can be really useful. He refused. Barge Apocalypso will keep an eye on him from above. Using orbital sensors as well as light precision artillery no matter what.
As compromise was made by myself to have no Armed guard but relieve him of his weapons. Again he refused.
So with his options he decided to head to the Red Hessian base in Omega 5. And forward the info to us.
Only time can tell

Subject: Leaving the Brotherhood
Everyone, it's been fun being a member of the Brotherhood, but recent events have convinced me to leave the Brotherhood and event renounce my Corsair ways. Believe me, this is not something that I decided on quickly, but I feel that my morals and beliefs can no longer work with the Brotherhood.
As you know, there have been more and more Bounty Hunter attacks on Planet Crete. Now, I have done my part to protect Planet Crete, but I think our methods are getting a bit out of hand. Just today, I saw a video of a Corsair vs. Bounty Hunter fight and what I saw shocked me. Seven Corsair ships (2 or 3 of which were part of the Brotherhood) barged into Freeport 9, completely disregarded the cease fire zone around the base, and attacked a group of 4 Bounty Hunters (who weren't even in capital ships) during their training session while they were weakened from dueling. Now, I am all for protecting our home, but this has gotten way out of hand. We are trying to protect Crete, not start a manslaughter. You outnumbered them almost 2 to 1, took advantage of the fact that they were weakened, and even endangered our relations with the Zoners by starting a fight in their own backyard. This is the lowest of the low. Yes, I know we must stop them from attacking Crete, but we must fight with honor as well. We must give them a fighting chance at least. Doing anything less would be dishonorable, which goes against everything the Brotherhood stands for. If I recall, the Brotherhood poster said:
Quote:The Brotherhood: Honor, Dignity, Pride...And big guns.
Right now, the only thing that's accurate is the "big guns" part. I know I may be acting a bit odd for a Corsair, who should be a ruthless pirate, but I was raised to have good values, and frankly, attacking helpless Hunters is not a good value. Calling them cowards even though you outnumbered them and attacked them while they were helpless is not a good value either.
Therefore, I am leaving the Brotherhood and renouncing my Corsair ways. It was fun while it lasted, but I can't be a true Corsair if it means doing everything I just said above. Perhaps I will return if things ever go back to the way they were before.
Until then, this is goodbye.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
If that is what you feel you must, then that is what you must do, but The Brotherhood will no longer let the Bounty Hunters Guild attack us with impunity. There is a price that must be paid for the attacks against us. If we are to defeat these Hunters, we must go on the attack, there shall be no safe haven for these hunters. They were outside the zone when we attacked. They then fled into the Freeport zone, and we followed. Maybe if there were some kind of zone where these Hunters were not allowed to attack us, but is seems that does not exist. As long as I have blood in my veins, The Brotherhood will not just let a Hunter pass, nor will we stay in Gamma while threats mass on our Border. The Brotherhood will do all it can to make sure the threat is dealt with before it reaches Omicron Gamma, for that is truly the only way to ensure the safety of our families on Crete.
