Junkers apparently are a tricky bunch to RP. everyone seems to think they can just use anything they are able to salvage, but there has to be limits to what they can use or we end up with junkers flying Rheinland battleships with a mix of turrents from all over Sirius....extreme case i know but i've seen it.

While some Junkers may be primarily non-combat, others are far from it. Those who choose to actively fight the Xenos (don't need very good weapons for that, though), or the Hogosha, or those who turn to a life of piracy (which is part of the Junker ID), or those who defend the Junker bases from annoying bounty hunters.
About the codes... Yeah, last night I hit 9(!) wrecks within 15 minutes of a crash and all of them were empty. Gotta camp them if you want them.
i consider junkers the same as a non-combative corporation. yes they will defend their assets but they won't attack their competition. rather prefering to pay someone under the table to do it for them.

I'm sure some Junkers are like that, but more than any other factions with the possible exception of the Zoners, Junkers are individuals who do their own thing. Some may be downright bloodthirsty, and as long as they don't bring down wrath on the rest of the Junkers, then the rest of the Junkers probably don't mind.
I'm not trying to argue for better weapons, just arguing against the 'peaceful' stereotype. It's hard to stereotype the Junkers. We've had one Junker faction dedicated to slavery and the violence involved in such a vile trade, and another (short lived, unfortunately) who were nothing but peaceful, legitimate scrap haulers. A shame the scrap field(s) got nerfed.
I try to use the most undescript ones I can. On my Junker Merc I have a mix of chain guns and low level shield busters. Not the best setup but it makes sense.
I think that you could use some LWB guns, for the right price. We're known to be voracious for information about Synth Foods and their activities, so RP that, and we might be able to get you some, if you can 'pay' us enough.
