' Wrote:@ Hyung Soong: I'm not JUST talking about ships, equipment, ID's and such. I'm also talking about role play actions. There are some that role play non-hostile even though they look hostile on your HUD. [LN], =LSF= and their indies see something red and they get into this "red is dead" mentality. There is absolutely no attempt by these guys to try to role play beyond "engaging hostile" and then destroying the vessel.
I would just like to remind you that the actions of Indies does not neccessarily reflect the actions of the [LN] or the =LSF=. We go through alot of crap almost every day, along with indies (or just recently, a faction member) who get out of line.
I know i try my damndest to RP with pirates and smugglers when i see them, and this has led to alot of times where the smugglers just ignore the RP and speeddock on manhattan, never to be seen again. It also leads to alot of times where i get killed while typing to a pirate, trying to warn him off or explain why he is in Liberty. I RP almost EXCLUSIVELY with the Liberty Navy, and what your saying is just untrue (at least when i am online).

You really cannot have it both ways. You cannot say that your approved indies have the authority to act on [LN] behalf and at the same time say you are not responsible for their actions. Which is it gonna be? Cause if the system owning faction claims NO responsibility to what the indies do then the indies have NO authority and would not enjoy the rights to scan smugglers for contraband or otherwise take the law into their own hand. This behavior is known as vigilantism and would (in role play) be a violation of Liberty law.

Not talking about pirates and smugglers who are ACTIVELY participating in that trade. If a Smuggler ID'd character is transporting LEGAL goods, do you demand he drop it and pay a fine or suffer destruction? If not, then why would you blatantly attack a Liberty Rogue ID'd character that is minding his own business?
As for dying while typing ... happens to me quite regularly. I may be sitting still and call out "please do not engage me ... I am non-hostile." I remain still and show no signs of aggression. Then an over zealous [LN] or =LSF= or indies decides he doesn't like me being there and opens fire. His excuse is ... "you've got a Rogue ID" ... ok ... next time you see a Smuggler ID ... kill it without regard to his cargo ... cause its the same blasted thing.
I try my hardest to role play without gunfire. Every single character I have would rather end an encounter WITHOUT blood shed. Even my pirate character does not open fire until the very last minute. I've followed a trader through several systems and eventually the guy paid me 500k. And I never fired a CD or used my guns. I consider this a VERY good encounter. I'm not the type to immediately jump to PVP mode.
Based on what you said ... I would place you in the 20% who actually do role play. But I'm tellin you ... the other 80% would rather see my ship explode.

No problem... The thing is: unfortunately I gave up trying to stop ooRP in these 2 systems... Long ago... You just have to wait for ooRP players to quit (playing FL) or "evolve" to RP stage. Like most of the players, I had my ooRP stage too(bought a BH GB, lulz). The thing that opened my eyes was anti-BH BC thread.
I wrote a really funny FL story, but it disappeared when the old forum went away. So, no lulz for you today.
