Everyone wins, see?
Making a reference to a chicken that thinks the sky is falling and referencing it as someone, usually provokes that someone, as you make out that they are ignorant. (You know what I mean.)
(This post that I have quoted would have done the job better.)

Yes I do. It's not a new situation. Where do you think the Arwing came from? I'd argue as to the quality of several of the models added relatively recently in Disco's version history, and that they shouldn't have been added.
Beyond that, I'm not at all opposed to competition as long as it doesn't threaten the fundamental characteristics of the ship and matches the aesthetic of its larger and smaller cousins. If Xing can produce a vessel that will perform as the current model does than I welcome him to, but I don't think he can; that's why I'm being so obstinate about it. I'm really more comfortable with Aiden doing it, he's done the kind of work I believe this project needs. If Xing can do it I will be pleasantly surprised and wrong, and I imagine Aiden fairly easily, but I know I can, and that's what I'm banking on-what I perceive as what will be good for the shipline's appearance and what's best for the players who will fly the craft.
EDIT: Oh, and chances are one will get added as a second ship. Igiss can be too nice of a guy sometimes.

The Arwing is an awful example, since the standards were obviously a smidge lower back then. I don't believe Fox McCloud is in the mod, of late.
If another's model gets past the community chopping block and into the mod, it full well deserves to. And if the only person to say "Au contraire." is you, it's too bad, I suppose.
Orin, you joined in AUGUST...forgive me for trying to pull seniority, but you don't know about LOW standards. You should have seen the modeling back in 4.82 (including my own) when I showed up. The Arwing was added in 4.84, for crying out loud, in an era when things were generally high-standard. So was the Firefly, and frankly, that one needs a remodel like no other (except maybe the Arwing:D). I have a whole list of ships that I consider in need of the chopping block once replacements are potentially available, and a somewhat shorter list of newer ships that should just be removed, period, and I think if the modeling community put its heads together as a whole and applied its current standards it would come to similar conclusions.

Well, if you insist on making this a "you haven't been here very long" thing, I've been playing Discovery off and on since 4.82.
In any case, my point is that the community has become a virtual wall. Every faction, model, RP character, or anything that comes to light in a feedback manner gets hit fast and hard by community opinion, which in theory, is the correct one when it comes to a game where the community matters.
If the model makes it past the community majority, it deserves to make it in. Simple as that. (In my opinion, at least. I'm sure most would agree.)

*Facepalm.*
Once the community puts it's head together and designs replacements these models will be replaced.
At this current point in time, no "bad" model should make it in, because frankly the community dislikes imported ships or other ships which do not suit the faction it is designed for. Eh.

I disagree. The Outcast majority. Do you honestly expect us to let the Corsairs pick our ship for us? Noooo.
