i was a bit hesitant about the design at first, bit now after seeing the textured version, i like it. seems good, gets a "gurj's stamp off approval" (even though people dont give a damn about it >.> )
and yeah, hitboxing that thing wont be hard (hopefully) if i have to.
EDIT: personally, id like to see a replace (or at least a fix) for the bs adv model. when i tried to give it a custom hitbox, i realised that the model itself is lopsided.
This is how a model should be (when looking form the front)

this is how the BS adv model is:

its minor, but you realise that the model is ****ed when you try to give it a hitbox.
Model needs better texture on top. Those panels look too plain and they are stretched too much. Windows are too big for ship of that size and there are too few of them. Also..you should use only civilian textures on it and not mix it with bretonian plates.
Plates that cover engines are too long and and that should be tested in game too see how engine effect will look like...there could be some overlaping and it would spoil looks of the ship.
While i like rear end of the ship front is too plain (looking from the top)
Model still needs some work imo...
and i agree with frozen...it should replace battlestar advanced...i must mention that i am biased about that since i have been working on battlestar classic replacement for some time now, but since i have been working on more important ships i didn't submit is yet.
the front is covered in half open panels that reveal internal structure inside - which is not very well visible from the "total" view or the top view - but its not really empty. - however the texture is a bit dull, i know - i had some more ornaments and details on it - but mainly by the use of the bret texture - and so the ship looked too much like a bretonian ship - so i got back to the plain white plates.
the engines are rather small - ( there are 2 on each side ) - and on a test run with the BSG engines - they were not overlapping - but they are in the inside of the model of course - which makes CDing harder - from the rear.
the windows .... yes, they are rather large. - mostly, cause the BSG is considered a light BB - but they are scaled with the liberty dreadnought - ( however the lib DN uses a doublelayer panel )
anyway - if you work on a BSG classic replace, you go first of course. - this was just a fun model, without many ambitions.
i have finished it and offer the download on the dev board - but i don t really care much if we take it or not.... really no big deal - there are not so many battlestars around and its not a common model anyway ( when it comes to battleships )
about the second forum account : - it felt strange to post replies to bounties etc. on the Jinx account, as is often the case when the main char shares the name of the account. - so i made a second account for inforum RP. - nothing big ... currently, i use it, cause i m producing too many posts on Jinx:P- so i can post on Cheshires account without the danger of overtaking Dab one day...
Yeah we can get this one in, and remove the other battlestars...

' Wrote:keep in mind - Dooms model has priority - so this ship is currently rather unlikely to make it into the mod. ( other than my private ship garage )
why would my model have priority?...i am always for the option that people decide...so will will see...as replacement ship can be added at any point ...
