But in the next version, what is the damage rating of the Kusari Gunboat Forward gun?... Are we trying to give this a one-hit-kill weapon?... And can you imagine the size of the FWD Gun on a fighter?

However, I think if we did the above, you would have to redesign the ship so it looks more like a flying weapon instead of a wolf or dragon (sort of like the Liberty Cruiser, only tiny).
Only thing with a FWD gun is that it might be overkill. I know a single FWD gun now can kill a fighter (I think), I can only assume the gun is getting even stronger next version.
With drastic increases in armor, I could imagine. Well, even if it does only 10-15k. If a fighter could fire it with any decent capability, it would pretty much shred enemy fighters. The hit-box for the projectile is rather large.
It also could take a substantial amount of drain, and fire much more slowly then your average foward gun. The foward gun mounting GBs have weapons special to them, why not this thing?
The gunboat forward gun works on a much larger scale than fighter sized weaponry, hence why it's that much more powerful. If this thing is going to have one of those it needs to be fully dedicated to that gun, and that gun alone, meaning that it'll be nothing but a flying gun with minimal armor and shields due to the huge generator needed to feed the gun.
In short: The ship should only have a gunboat forward gun and nothing else, cause otherwise we're delving into the all too familiar pool of "LULWUTPWN" gaming.
