McNeo, the whole post.
Read it all, please, it's usually mostly important.
I'll make it easy for you to understand.

(The latter would be anyone slightly competent in PvP.)
Notice the tongue-in-cheek manner in which it's written, and the subjectivity.

This is like the debate over camping in FPS where people stay in the same spot and net easy kills.
Getting pissed off by someone only hurts yourself. In the end, life is short, better stay happy than angry most of the time.

But then *you* are the guy who has to leave the system for the next 4 hours as, technically, you fled.
Meh. My opinion on this whole thing is that people that, despite obviously having lost, try everything to piss off their enemy as much as possible before finally going down should go and die in a fire. Dirty little heretics.

Getting annoyed about someone trying to escape a PvP death is childish. One obviously misses the big picture that you don't need to kill the other guy to win a fight, if fighting and winning is really this important. If he is running, you won... blue message hunting = pvp whoring.
Aye, it goes both ways Zapp. I agree tho, it is annoying to have an enemy circle a base, but I view it as a strategy. So I don't really get fussed about it.
What fusses me is I spent near an hour circling bases all told, and got to bed late and lost sleep over it.
Quote:Normally I have better things to do than circle a base for hours, but this particular one prevented me venting into someone and getting pain. The rules are vague in this area, Ive been told not to join back even after chasing into another system. They're gone, out of the fight, so what if you didn't kill them there are still others to pop.
If you're so desperate to get a kill to the degree you're going to go all out on it, then create a thread afterwards due to not getting the kill, guess what more people are going to do it.
I find it utterly depressing especially with this area when the Kusari Wild try to cover up who they are when it's obvious they are infected. Wild population must be stupidly high.
The rules say you flee you're out. If the rules preclude an engagement splitting in two, then there's something seriously wrong. If one part of the fight drifts 10k off the other side, does that mean you disengaged from the fight 10k away? Obviously not. If the engagements become separated by a jump, does that mean you fled? Arguably the person who jumped has fled, but just as arguably since they were chased the engagement never ended.
Engagements, in my opinion, end either with one party dying or successfully fleeing (i.e. not being chased/docking). If someone chases you while you're fleeing, it's still an engagement. So even though, in this case, I did jump, I was still involved in an engagement. If the rules preclude me from finishing the engagement that spun off and then heading back into the main furball, as I said before something is seriously, seriously wrong.
I wouldn't use the word desperate. More determined. On that one character. Most other characters I have, if you manage to get away and start circling a base, I'm going to back off and say it's not worth it.
Depressing? I'm sorry, we're mounting experimental technology as a new initiative within the KNF. If you don't want to play along, you don't have to -- that just tends to make us a lot more hostile towards you. We don't appreciate being questioned.
I honestly don't care about the rest of the thread, but

How do you know this? We field experimental tech as KNF. What, you have some sort of infectee scanner on your ship or somesuch? All the people I iseijind with this week greeted me as a KNF. Some asked questions and got answers. Why can't you just play like that?

Honestly, that is your own darn fault. You are complaining about losing sleep and getting to bed late because YOU decided to keep with the fight. Don't complain when it is your own darn fault.
I don't know all the details but you haven't won a fight until he has fled/docked or you actually kill him. What you are complaining about is someone using a tactic you couldn't beat against you. It screams of you complaining because he deprived you of a kill message. Get over it.
Complaining that he ruined your fun when you are the one that decided to stay there that long is rather obnoxious. Do you think he would have enjoyed just letting you kill him and staying out of the system for four hours? Probably not, and don't tell me you had clearly won; clearly winning is you killing him or him fleeing. If he has the ability to circle a base for that long without you killing him, he found a weakness you have and exploited it to his benefit.
Is it annoying if you cannot counter it? Hell yea, doesn't mean he was wrong. He simply found your weakness, same as what you did to him before he resorted to circling the base. Difference is, you weren't able to overcome it.
However, the planet dive is rather gay. If you've grown that sick of the fight and don't wish to fight anymore let the other person win if they stuck around. Planet diving is utterly ooRP, a kitten dies everytime someone does it.

Not a tactic I couldn't beat. He still bit the dust. And tactic? That's utter bull****. That wasn't a tactic. He fired maybe half a dozen shots the entire time. No backup was coming for him to stall for. He couldn't dock on the base. He ran away from the Tau 23 jump hole, where he could've jumped out to escape to a base he could dock on, instead going for the hostile base. Tactic? More like tactical error.
What's obnoxious is doing something clearly just to piss the other person off.
And I already said that I stuck around because RP demanded it. My Iseijin doesn't let people go like that, especially if that person has called me a Wilde to the entire system.
It was not a tactic, it was because he was pissed about a missunderstanding. Zapp chased a guy to another system, the guy was trying to flee, after some kills on both sides, Zapp got back, then the one who we were shooting at, complained about Re engaging, which is understable from my point of view, however, as I understand it, it was ok. Then he chose to thrust 25k to a hostile base, and fly on circles.
No the best end for that battle which lasted more than 2 hours, with like 17 players (not at the same time) participating on it.
But again, I can understand Enko's angry, and Zapp's angry.
To be honest, I'd like to see the end of the battle, but I got tired, and went to sleep.
