Are you guys serious with that scan Thing ? If you'r RPING just continue typing and ignore it, it'll take like 10 minute for them before attacking. If you are cruising, just continue cruising and Cancel, when they'll start attacking the NPCS will stop cruising therefor you get away without them touching you. If you'r near planets and they ask for drop, ignore it and dock on a Trade Lane and it'll disapear without consequence. If it's infront of somewhere you need to dock, ignore until you are near a fastdock spot then Cancel, you still have like 5 second to dock, wich is plently enough.
Unfortunately, when my Zoner Dessie is parked in Gamma/Alpha/49/any other system with stupidly powerful NPCs, RPing with another player, and some passing pirate NPC decides to demand one of the many random items I keep as RP cargo, one does not have the option to dock somewhere to avoid them...those level 19 Titans can drop cruiser shields quite easily in a matter of seconds, and, as you thrust away so slowly and it is easy for them to CD a Zoner dessie, I was very lucky to escape with ~1/2 hull left and no regens...
And, yes, I have had NPCs demand the basic supplies that I was bringing to them -.-
' Wrote:however, there are the odd - .... lets call them ... collectors of living cargo. the most unlikely chars that fly around with hundreds of BHG pilots, other lawfuls - or sometimes pirates. those people loose a lot when being scanned. - but then, gotto ask yourself ... why do you fly around with so many anyway?
i have met zoners with well over 150 BHGs in their hold, when asking them why the frell they do so - they answer rubbish like - they started it // they are my enemies // i hate them. - all very *good* RP answers indeed. but mostly its a testiment of how much they know about the relations between the factions...... not. ( same happens with BHG chars that fly around with hundreds of pirates - instead of delivering them to a prison station )
i don t need to collect hundreds of pirates or others before i can release them. so whenever i have so many aboard, its more a trophy than a bounty hunt...and for that, i find it OK when the lawfuls ask for them.
I do this. I admit it. Bringing certain pilots home to Malta to be enslaved is a good money earner for a fighter. Bounty Hunter pilots especially, they fetch 11k each. A decent trip to Liberty and back can net a hull cargo hold of them, about 3 quarters of a million credits worth.
I have to say though I don't get a lot of problems with NPC scanning, mainly because there are so few factions that are neutral to me. Most just shoot on sight or run away (- latter much like LN players), others like me too much.
Out there are poor Outcast girls in desperate need! Please give just 10 million credits or whatever you can to the 'Katie wants a Battleship' fund today. Just pick up the comms and type "/givecash Katie.Katastrophie 10000000" now, thank you!

Well this would be fine, but the issue is they interrupt RP as happened with Dantrithor.
And why should NPC police be asking for those <insert pirate faction> pilots in the ship hold from an LPI, LSF, Navy pilot ?
Doesn't make sense...

I hate it when NPCs demand my RP cargo... Don't they know that without H-Fuel, my Gunboat is dead in the water??
It gets very annoying, it's hard to RP when you've got 10 Corsairs shooting at you for refusing to drop your spaceship crew.

Signed. There are more then enough players who can scan you, no need for NPC patrols who just annoy every 5 minutes.
